In a candid revelation, popular Kenyan actor Tyler Kamau Mbaya, widely known as “Baha” from the hit series Machachari, has shared how a challenging personal experience—the leaking of his private videos—has unexpectedly boosted his self-confidence in both public and professional settings.
Speaking on a recent podcast with Prince Newton, Mbaya reflected on how what could have been a source of lasting shame has instead become a catalyst for an “unmatched” sense of self-assurance. As a former child star, Baha has long been in the public eye, but his journey took an unexpected turn a few months ago when private videos involving him surfaced online, sparking widespread discussion.
However, Baha’s perspective on the incident has remarkably shifted. He articulated a profound transformation in his outlook during the podcast.
“Bro, let me tell you, nowadays when I walk in public I’m like, ‘What, you mean even Mama Mboga had seen my nakedness?’ This comes with some unmatched self-confidence that I’ve gathered nowadays,” Mbaya explained. He added, “Walking in a boardroom and I’m like I no longer care whoever saw it.”
Despite this newfound robustness in his confidence, Mbaya acknowledged one crucial future consideration: his daughter. He candidly shared, “The leaked video doesn’t bother me, the only point that it does is I know that in future I’m going to have a conversation with my kid. She’s going to come and ask him,” referring to the inevitable discussion he will have with his daughter, Astra, whom he shares with Georgina Njenga.
While personally at peace with his past, Baha is clearly aware of the responsibility to address the situation maturely when his daughter comes of age.
