Comedian and digital content creator David Oyando, better known as Mulamwah, and his former partner, Carrol Muthoni (Carrol Sonie), have sparked widespread speculation after publicly reuniting for a candid conversation following their highly publicized and acrimonious breakup.
The former couple, who share a child, posted a video on their Instagram accounts on Monday, December 15, 2025, offering fans a light-hearted glimpse into their current lives and their efforts to maintain a mature co-parenting relationship.
The Big Reveal: Business Over Banter
During their meet-up, the focus quickly shifted to Mulamwah’s career trajectory, where he revealed he’s moving away from full-time comedy.
“Do you do comedy or did you quit?” Sonie asked.
“Nowadays I am more into business stuff; comedy, you know, is for upcoming guys—when you see someone being funny, that’s when they are starting out,” Mulamwah candidly responded, suggesting he’s transitioned to more entrepreneurial pursuits.
Who Called First? Initiating the Reunion
Mulamwah disclosed that it was Carrol Sonie who took the initiative to set up the encounter.
Mulamwah’s Shock
The comedian admitted he was surprised to receive the call, which Sonie made to request an interview for her YouTube show. “I saw the call and I was like, is this someone I saved wrongly or what? Then you spoke, and here we are,” he recounted.
Sonie’s Condition
The mother of one revealed she had set a key condition before agreeing to the reunion. “I told you something; I think I will only meet you the moment I see you have become a little mature; you know I cannot sit down and listen to you saying certain things,” Sonie stated, hinting at past conflict.
Echoes of Reconciliation.
This high-profile meet-up comes just months after Mulamwah admitted on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, that he was “confused” after Sonie liked one of his Instagram posts, indicating that communication lines were slowly reopening.
Mulamwah had previously spoken about his relationship with Sonie in March 2025, expressing his hope for a future where they could amicably co-exist, if not fully reconcile.
“Reunion is something that will happen with time. It’s about the coping mechanism, and people have different ones… I believe the steps we have made are many, and we will get there, but we don’t want to go back to the past,” he shared at the time.
The recent meeting suggests that the former couple is making progress in their efforts to build a respectful and mature relationship for the sake of their family
