‘Ni Kama Ya Khaligraph’-Ferdinand Omanyala Shows Off His Multi-Million Mansion (Photo)

Africa’s fastest man, Ferdinand Omanyala, has officially crossed the finish line of a different kind of marathon: the construction of his dream home. On Thursday, February 26, 2026, the celebrated sprinter took to social media to give his fans a comprehensive look at his completed mansion in Ruiru, a project he has been meticulously building and documenting for the past few years. While the athlete had previously shared snippets of the construction in progress, this latest reveal showcases the finished “masterpiece,” standing as a tangible testament to his record-breaking success on the global stage.

The residence is a striking example of contemporary architecture, opting for a bold, flat-roofed design that sets it apart from traditional Kenyan suburban styles. The exterior features a sleek charcoal-grey concrete finish, characterized by a symmetrical, boxy silhouette and expansive floor-to-ceiling glass windows designed to flood the interior with natural light. Reports indicate that the sprawling mansion cost approximately KSh 50 million to complete and boasts seven bedrooms, multiple levels, and glass-railed balconies that offer panoramic views of the surrounding area.

Years of hardwork

The reveal came in the form of a candid video—soundtracked appropriately by Nyashinski’s hit “Time of My Life”—which captured the sprinter in a relaxed, domestic moment. In the clip, Omanyala is seen stepping out onto his spacious terrace holding a glass of juice while engaged in a phone call, offering a rare glimpse into the lifestyle earned through years of disciplined training and high-stakes competition. The property’s grounds are equally refined, featuring perfectly manicured lawns and elegant decorative elements that enhance the home’s modern aesthetic.

Captioning the milestone with a simple but profound message of gratitude, Omanyala wrote, “I am so grateful,” acknowledging the journey from his early days as a rugby player to becoming a global track icon. For the sprinter, the completion of this KSh 50 million sanctuary in Ruiru represents more than just a real estate investment; it is a symbol of the stability and success possible through unwavering focus, providing a world-class home base as he continues to chase new world records.

Ferdinand Omanyala dismisses criticism over his refusal to race IShowSpeed

Ferdinand Omanyala has finally addressed why he turned down a much-hyped race challenge from YouTube star IShowSpeed, making it clear that the proposal simply did not add up professionally or financially.

Speaking during a public forum, the African 100m record holder said the idea may have been exciting for online audiences, but for an elite athlete whose career is built on discipline, planning, and performance, it came with too many risks and no real reward.

Omanyala explained that his training schedule is intense and unforgiving, often stretching to seven hours a day for most of the year. He noted that this routine runs for up to 44 weeks annually, all carefully structured to prepare him for major competitions on the global stage.

“Imagine me putting in seven hours of training every day for months, 44 weeks in a year, then someone comes and we race and you pay me with streams and likes. Is it fair?” Omanyala posed, drawing laughter and applause from the audience.

Beyond the issue of compensation, the sprinter highlighted the physical risk involved. Taking part in an unscheduled exhibition race would have forced him to pause training for several days, disrupting his program and increasing the chance of injury — a gamble he is not willing to take.

He added that any injury sustained in such a setting would be difficult to justify to his sponsors, coaches, and management team, all of whom depend on his fitness and performance.

While acknowledging that the race would have been entertaining for fans and social media, Omanyala stressed that sprinting is not a hobby or a content opportunity for him, but a full-time profession with clear targets, contracts, and expectations.

Africa’s fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala has reflected on his disappointing 7th place finish in the 100-meter final at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

Omanyala clocked in a time of 10.07 seconds, which was 24 hundredths of a second behind the winner, Noah Lyles of the United States.

The Kenyan sprinter said he was “disappointed” with the result, but he vowed to learn from his mistakes and come back stronger next time.

“Things happen in championships and that is what it is,” Omanyala said. “I don’t know what happened, I can’t really tell or even remember. I have to go back and watch the video of the race and see what happened and process it. From there, I will be able to know what to do next and the solutions needed.”

Omanyala made history as the first Kenyan to reach the men’s 100m final at the World Championships. He also set a new national record in the semifinals with a time of 9.85 seconds.

The 26-year-old sprinter is still young and has plenty of time to improve. He is expected to be a contender for medals at the next Olympics in Paris in 2024.

In a post on his Twitter account, Omanyala said, “Live to fight another day!”

This is a positive attitude to have, and it is clear that Omanyala is not giving up on his dream of becoming an Olympic champion.

Loyalty! Ferdinand Omanyala rejects 300+ thirsty Kenyan women for his wife

Omanyala and Amutavi first met in 2016 at a kibandaski, a makeshift food stall. Omanyala was immediately smitten, but it took him seven months of pursuing her before she finally reciprocated his feelings.

At the time, Amutavi was a student at Moi University pursuing a degree in social work, while Omanyala was at the University of Nairobi.

Even though Omanyala was still trying to establish himself in his career, Amutavi was always there to support him. She worked diligently at Mama Lucy Hospital to support their family, and she even encouraged Omanyala to invest in his talent.

“Ferdi, take this money and use it for your training and other needs,” she would say.

Omanyala’s wife’s support has been invaluable to him throughout his career. She has been there for him through thick and thin, and she has always believed in his dreams.

Omanyala is grateful for his wife’s support, and he knows that he would not be where he is today without her.

Africa’s fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala has praised his wife for believing in his dreams, even when he could not support his family financially.

In an interview with YouTuber Trudy Kitui, Omanyala said that his wife, Wanjugu Mwende, met him in 2016 at a track event. She was a student at the time, while he was still in college.

“She played hard to get, but I finally got her after seven months,” Omanyala said. “That’s when the journey started.”

Omanyala said that his wife was supportive of his dream of becoming a professional athlete, even when he was not making much money.

“She came through big time,” he said. “She was working at Mama Lucy hospital, and she would give me her salary to help support the family.”

Omanyala said that he was also contributing to the household expenses, but his income was limited.

“I was only getting Sh5,000 if I won a race,” he said. “Of course, I was bringing something, but it wasn’t much.”

Omanyala said that his wife’s support was essential to his success.

“She believed in me, she believed in the dreams I had, and we helped each other carry that dream until we reached where we are today,” he said.

Omanyala also spoke about the challenges of dealing with unwanted attention from women since becoming a star athlete.

“I don’t text women who I know are not serious,” he said. “I will ignore their messages for six months. Most of the time, I just archive their chats. My social media managers are the ones who go through my messages and respond to the important ones.”

Omanyala said that he is grateful for his wife’s support and that he is committed to their marriage.

“I know that I am a public figure, but I am also a husband and a father,” he said. “I am committed to my wife and my family, and I will never do anything to jeopardize that.”
