Worrying video of former Boondocks Gang member, Maddox living in dumpsite emerge

Fresh images and videos circulating online have once again raised concerns about the well-being of Gengetone artist Maddox, after the former Boondocks Gang member was reportedly spotted sleeping near a dumpsite.

The footage, which has attracted widespread attention across social media platforms, appears to show the musician living in difficult circumstances, prompting renewed appeals from fans and figures within the entertainment industry for assistance and support.

Maddox rose to fame during the peak of Kenya’s Gengetone movement between 2018 and 2020 as a member of the popular group Boondocks Gang. Together with his bandmates, he helped shape a music genre that resonated with a youthful audience and produced several hit songs that dominated the charts.

In recent years, however, public concern over his welfare has continued to grow, with multiple videos and reports emerging online showing the artist in apparent distress.

Memories of Earlier Concerns

The latest images have also brought back memories of an interview Maddox gave in August 2024 following an offer of help from media personality Oga Obinna.

At the time, Obinna publicly appealed to Kenyans to help trace the musician, saying he wanted to facilitate support and rehabilitation services for him.

Despite the gesture, Maddox dismissed the need for intervention and maintained that he was doing well.

“I am okay. I do not need to go to any rehab,” he said at the time.

The resurfacing of the recent footage has reignited debate among fans and observers, many of whom are once again questioning the artist’s condition and calling for efforts to ensure he receives the support he may need.

Maddox Blames Odi Wa Muranga & Exray For His Downfall

Former Boondox Gang member Maddox has once again been the topic of discussion following his addiction to drugs and alcoholism; which reportedly led to his own downfall. The group, which consisted of Odi wa Murang’a and Exray was among the renowned gengetone groups that gave local artists a run for their money a few years back.

Opening about their split, Maddox explained the split was inspired by the need for Exray and Odi wa Murang’a to pursue solo projects which left him struggling to keep the Boondocks gang brand alive.

“We started the Boondocks gang in 2015. Things were good as we would get booked many times and had back-to-back events and shows. When corona hit is when things started changing a bit. But even then we were still a group despite the struggles brought about by the pandemic,” said Maddox.

Maddox Struggling ?

Well, a look at the group’s members would suggest that Exray and Odi are still doing well even after their split. They’re both still doing music and haven’t really been on the limelight to complain about their lifestyle, unlike one of their members Maddox, who has now blamed the two for abandoning him.

He recently shared via a video which was evidently a fan of his showing concern. After reaching out to one of Boondox Gang members Odi Wa Murang’a for his opinion on the latter issue, he has not responded yet. But its clear that Maddox is doing the blame game for his own downfall.
