Controversial city preacher Victor Kanyari has come out guns blazing to dismiss swirling rumors of a romantic affair between him and viral star Marion Naipei. Addressing his congregation in a video shared on his Facebook page, the Salvation Healing Ministry founder insisted that his relationship with Naipei is strictly based on charity and ministry.
In a surprisingly candid admission, Kanyari laughed off the allegations by claiming he no longer possesses romantic urges.
“People are asking if Kanyari is sleeping with Naipei? No! My ‘manhood’ strength faded long ago. I don’t even remember the last time I had those feelings,” he told his followers in Swahili.
Lovers in denial?
The preacher emphasized that his current “feelings” are directed solely toward financial stability and helping the vulnerable. He noted that his primary stress comes from figuring out how to raise funds for elderly women and those struggling with medical bills or the Social Health Authority (SHA) payments.
Kanyari also challenged his critics to look back at his history, questioning if he has ever been caught in a “woman-related” scandal.
“When have you ever heard Kanyari has a scandal involving women? Never.”
He did, however, address the infamous “breast-touching” incident from years ago, maintaining that it was a misunderstood act of healing. He explained that he was merely demonstrating the severity of a congregant’s breast cancer so that her eventual healing would be seen as a true miracle—a healing he claims eventually occurred.
The Naipei Connection: From Support to Speculation
The rumors regarding Kanyari and Naipei intensified following a series of public gestures during church services. Naipei recently became the center of a national conversation after intimate videos of her were allegedly leaked without her consent by a former partner.
Kanyari stepped in to offer support after government official Geoffrey Mosiria distanced himself from the case. The preacher’s support has been highly visible:
A “Targeted” Name
Kanyari lamented that the media uses his name as a “clickbait” tool to sell stories. He pointed out that even years after his divorce from gospel singer Betty Bayo, news outlets still refer to her as “Kanyari’s ex-wife” just to gain traction.
“Those rumors you are spreading about me and Marion Naipei, please stop,” he captioned the video, maintaining that his public displays of affection are acts of restorative kindness for a woman who has been through a traumatic ordeal.
