Black Cinderella Reacts To Obinna’s Ksh 6M Defamation Win

The legal battle between media personality Oga Obinna and socialite-turned-TikToker Maureen Imbayi (Black Cinderella) has reached a dramatic conclusion, with Obinna emerging victorious in a defamation suit.

Obinna, who sued Radio Africa Group, radio host Massawe Japanni, and Black Cinderella, celebrated his win on November 5 by sharing court documents that revealed the defendants were ordered to pay him Ksh6 million.

Obinna’s Triumphant Post

In a lengthy social media post, Obinna not only announced the substantial payout but also offered a sharp jab at his accusers, stating:

“I will build my house with money from haters. We successfully sued Masawe Japani, Black Cinderella and Radio Jambo for defamation about a year ago, and today we have won.”

He detailed the basis of his lawsuit, highlighting that Cinderella made “defamatory remarks about me, knowing we have never met.

” He also criticized his former colleague, Massawe Japanni: “Masawe had been my colleague at QFM and Radio Africa; she could have just asked me, but she didn’t.”

Obinna maintained that the unverified allegations led to his reputation being “soiled” and his “brand got burnt,” yet the defendants never apologized.

Cinderella’s Absence

Adding salt to the wound, Obinna publicly claimed that Black Cinderella had failed to appear in court throughout the proceedings. He issued a warning, asking anyone who sees her to relay a message: the authorities were reportedly looking for her.

The Ksh6 million payout marks a decisive end to the year-long legal drama, turning a social media beef into a very expensive lesson on defamation.
