Videos surface that have Kenyans claiming they always knew Wakavinye never loved Njugush

A resurfaced video of Timothy Kimani, popularly known as Njugush, and Celestine Ndinda discussing their early relationship expectations has reignited online debate, just days after news of their separation.

The couple, once celebrated for their chemistry and often seen as the ultimate “couple goals,” built a loyal fanbase through their podcast, where they openly shared details of their love story. Having met in college, they were together for over a decade before eventually going their separate ways.

On April 21, Njugush surprised fans after revealing that they had quietly separated in 2025 and are now co-parenting.

“Last year, we made the decision to part ways after much thought and with mutual respect. We have been co-parenting, and our children remain our top priority…” he said in a statement shared on Instagram.

Throwback clip resurfaces

Following the announcement, an old clip from their podcast began circulating widely on TikTok, sparking fresh scrutiny of their past conversations.

In the video, Celestine candidly admitted that her initial decision to date Njugush was not necessarily driven by love.

“I didn’t have a marking scheme. I met this person… I was idle, having a good time,” she said.

When asked whether things might have been different if she had been more occupied, she maintained that she would still have ended up with him. Njugush, however, disagreed, saying:
“That’s unfair and the wrong way of looking at it.”

He went on to explain that he had a clear checklist for his ideal partner, while Celestine said she was simply looking for a God-fearing man.
