Eric Kiratu, Victim of Finance Bill 2024 Protests, Laid to Rest

Eric Sheini Kiratu, who was shot during the recent Finance Bill protests, has been laid to rest in Olulunga, Narok South.

Another protester, Ibrahim Kamau, aged 19, has also been buried. Kamau, who had just completed high school and intended to study electrical work, was remembered fondly by his mother, Wanjiku, during his funeral on Friday.

“He was operating a motorcycle taxi while waiting to join college,” she told The Associated Press.

Kamau was the first victim of Tuesday’s protests to be laid to rest in a Muslim ceremony.

Evans Kiratu, another casualty of the protests, was buried on June 28, 2024, at their home in Kiambu.

The burial of Rex Maasai has been postponed due to undisclosed issues.
