Anne Adhiambo, accused of killing Eric Maigo, enters a guilty plea

Anne Adhiambo Ouma, a woman accused of killing Nairobi Hospital Finance Officer Eric Maigo, has pleaded guilty.

She appeared before High Court Judge Kanyi Kimondo and admitted to the offence after the court clerk read to her three times the charge in Swahili.

The judge warned Ouma of the consequences of pleading guilty but allowed her time to consult with her lawyer before pleading again.

“In the interest of justice, I have given her time to consult with her advocates before pleading again”

Ouma is represented by lawyer Samuel Ayora and the case will be mentioned on November 8 for plea-taking at Kibera Law Court.

Eric Maigo’s murder suspect is an adult who is capable of standing trial.

The primary suspect in the savage murder of Eric Maigo, the acting finance director at Nairobi Hospital, Anne Adhiambo Akinyi, is prepared to enter a guilty plea. This came to light on Wednesday after an age and mental evaluation at the Mathare Hospital in Nairobi determined that, in contrast to prior reports that suggested she might have been a kid, she is fully qualified to stand trial.

On September 27, Adhiambo appeared before the court with a variety of motions. The court granted the prosecution 21 days to hold Adhiambo in custody while the investigation was ongoing. On the morning of October 15, at Nairobi’s Jamhuri Street, a figure thought to be Adhiambo was seen on surveillance footage leaving the scene of Maigo’s murder.

After bystanders alerted the police to his movements, she was detained in the Olympic district on Kibra Street. The body of Maigo, who had 25 stab wounds, was discovered in Adhiambo’s residence. The suspect is scheduled to appear in court on October 28.

Principal suspect in the death of Eric Maigo, head of Nairobi Hospital

The main suspect in the murder of Nairobi Hospital Acting Finance Director Eric Maigo, a minor believed to be between 15 and 17 years old, was arrested on Tuesday night in Kibera slums, Nairobi.

The suspect has been on the run since last week Thursday, and was hiding at a friend’s house in the Bombolulu area when detectives arrived at about 8 pm.

The teenager is believed to have stabbed Maigo 25 times, and the motive for the murder is still unknown.

The suspect is currently detained at the Muthaiga Police Station awaiting transfer to Kilimani Police Station, where she will be arraigned on Wednesday.

Police are also conducting an analysis of Maigo’s lifestyle as part of their probe.

Due to lack of evidence Eric Maigo murder suspect released

A Nairobi court released a suspect, Cynthia Lusega Andalo, in the murder case of Nairobi Hospital Finance Officer Eric Maigo on Monday morning. The prosecution told the court that they have no evidence to charge or hold Andalo in custody.

“After investigations, we forwarded the file to the ODPP and there was no sufficient evidence to charge the respondent herein,” the court was told.

The prosecution had applied for Andalo to be detained for five days to conclude investigations last week.

The miscellaneous file was closed and Andalo was set free.

Maigo was found with 25 stab wounds at his Woodley Estate residence in Nairobi last week. He will be buried on September 29 at his Keumbu home, in Kisii.
