The president of comedy Africa Eric Omondi has failed netizens terribly after cancelling the highly anticipated Wife Material season 2. After claiming that one of the contestants caused the cancellation of the show after going rogue, most of his fans believed Eric was just using subtle means to end the show. This is not the case according to him.

Blame Game

The comedian has now blamed his fellow comedian; who was part of his creative team in Wife Material program. Speaking on Butita’s SPM Buzz, he claimed that maybe he was paid to leave the show.

”This is the person who failed me… Tangu Butita atoke Wife material, things have never been the same. Tulienda Nanyuki, tukaenda Mombasa alafu Butita siku moja akatoka… You ask yourself, kwa nini tangu Butita atoke kwa hii show, show imeharibika… Sijui kama alilipwa. Ni kama Futa… But we’ll be back…”

Eric Omondi also denied rumours that he owes Butita any money. Butita also had his say on the issue. He says that he has nothing to do with Wife Material Failure.

Eric Omondi has however promised his fans to be ready for Wife Material Season 3; which he’ll incorporate more countries. Only a matter of time before we know his next move. Meanwhile, I think he’s definitely the one to blame for Wife Material downfall.

Comedian Eddie Butita claims he has been receiving several texts of people claiming he has been associated with the scripting of Eric Omondi’s Wife Material show. The comedian has taken to social media to make things clear about the claims by his fans. He strongly disassociates himself with Wife Material show, just hours after Eric Omondi’s arrest.

Additionally, Butita says he had previously talked with Eric and advised him to script the show so that things would run smoothly, but he refused and that’s why he’s in hot soup.

Butita’s Message

”I’ve been receiving a lot of texts, inboxes, people saying izi ni vitu gani mna script apa kwa Eric. Listen guys, I would like to distance myself and disassociate myself from that Wife Material thing. I’m not part of it.

As you can see, I’m in Eldoret and Kisumu doing other projects. I’m not in Nairobi. So, the show is not scripted, it’s not choreographed because ata mimi siko hapo. I told Eric let’s script this thing… kazi ipangwe.

Unaona show ikikosa ku scriptiwa vitu zinafanyika. Wasichana wanachapana uko na mapombe… Vitu gani izo? Ona ameshikwa sasa. We need to script. Eric, a show needs direction. We plan things pole pole. This show I said it from the beginning tukae chini tupange. You said, oh, Kenyans want something that is real, something that is not scripted… So guys, don’t text me, don’t inbox me. I’m not part of it…”

Eric Omondi is still in custody over producing unauthorized content. This may as well mean the end of wife material, but time will tell.
