Former Ramogi FM Presenter Confronts Ex-Colleague Over Allegations of Goon Attack

Former Ramogi FM Presenter Charles Odhiambo Dismisses Claims of Goon Attack

Former Ramogi FM presenter and current Homa Bay County Chief of Staff, Charles Odhiambo, has refuted claims that he was attacked and left in critical condition by a group of assailants.

Social media was rife with reports suggesting that Odhiambo had been ambushed, hospitalized, and was nursing serious injuries. However, speaking to Ramogi TV in a phone interview, Odhiambo dismissed the allegations, laughing them off as political propaganda.

“I don’t know where these rumours are coming from, but I can confirm that I am fine. In fact, I am at Yaya Centre attending to my car. If you doubt, you can come and see for yourself,” he stated.

When asked about reports that he had sustained facial injuries, Odhiambo humorously responded, “Do I sound like someone whose lips are swollen?”

Claims of Political Propaganda

Odhiambo suggested that the rumours were being spread by individuals who felt threatened by his rising influence in politics.

“Someone warned me to expect such claims because I have become a politician. Politics is not easy. Once someone realizes you are smarter than them, they will look for a way to bring you down,” he said.

He emphasized that such smear tactics were common in politics and that he remained unfazed.

“The moment you choose this path, you must develop a thick skin. I am not new to this, and I will not be shaken by propaganda.”

Governor Gladys Wanga Weighs In

Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga also addressed the issue, responding to critics without directly referencing the claims against Odhiambo.

Posting from New York, where she had been attending a Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) meeting, Wanga dismissed political propaganda and reaffirmed her resilience.

“Chilly morning here in New York as we wind up our week-long meetings at CSW. Na muache propaganda. Fortunately, I’m battle-hardened, focused, and undeterred. Blessed week ahead!” she wrote.

Despite Odhiambo’s assurances, some Kenyans online have called for him to make a televised appearance rather than just a phone interview to further confirm his well-being.

Wanga shared photos of her Range Rover which she says was shot at by the police. The rear window had been smashed from but you can’t tell whether it’s a bullet (s) or any other object that smashed it.

“Even with death threats we will not relent. We will not be intimidated. The police today followed me to my residential home. They want to kill me. #NoreformsNoElections,” wrote Gladys Wanga.
