Nigerians help Kemi Adeosun with a picture of the mandatory Youth Service year.
Over the last weekend, Premium Times released a mind bugling report that says that the ountry’s finance minister, Kemi Adeosun, absconded from the compulsory National Youth Service year. According to the report, Kemi who schooled outside the country, didn’t return for her service year, as expected. Rather, she obtained an alleged fake exemption letter, years later.
A photo of the minister in NYSC uniformed has however, surfaced online.This is believed to be fake because she didn’t observe the service year. What she has is an exemption letter, which does not demand that she wears the uniform.

The NYSC scheme is mandatory for all Nigerian graduates who are below 30 at the time of their graduation. Anyone without the NYSC discharge certificate of exemption letter is not eligible for employment in the country. This rule applies to both public and private sector.
