Leleti Khumalo stuns on cover of Bona magazine

In the June issue of Bona magazine, Leleti Khumalo looks stunning with minimal makeup.

In introducing her, Bona magazine had the following to say.

“She has become synonymous with Youth Day as the young and defiant Sarafina in the film Sarafina! She also shares how she feels about the iconic film 26 years later, and her current projects. Which cover is your fave?”

In the four covers that are in English, isiXhosa, isiZulu and Sesotho, Leleti alternates between different outfits.

Leleti Khumalo decides to educate people about vitiligo

Leleti Khumalo recently spoke to Drum Magazine about her skin condition. She came to know that she had vitiligo at the age of 19.

“It was pure ignorance on my part. In fact, I didn’t even know what it was until K became pregnant.”

In 2012, the vitiligo took a strain on Leleti especially after the death of one of her triplets.

“I was left with too many questions – I cried, prayed and I blamed myself. It was a double tragedy for me as I had to deal with my skin condition at the same time.”

She has gained more strength from then. As she will be acting on e.tv’s latest show Imbewu, she has decided not to cover her white patches with makeup.

“I used to cover my white patches with makeup but for Imbewu I will not be covering it. People will see me without the makeup. My plan is to educate people about vitiligo but I also don’t want to do a half job. I’ll be doing educational talks on vitiligo and I’d obviously want the talks to have an impact,” Leleti said.
