Marah Louw Has Taken TV Break To Focus On Books

Marah Louw has been off the screens for a while. She has taken the time to focus on her writing, even as she recovers from a hip replacement.

She took the sabbatical to also get her thoughts clear and prepare for her next move.

“I never plan these things. They just happen. I am writing at the moment. Scripts and all kinds of things. I am on a sabbatical and putting myself to me. I think I have been bitten by the writing bug. It is therapeutic.”

In 2017, Marah released her autobiography, It’s Me, Marah.

“I am writing all kinds of thing, not necessarily a new book. I am just writing my thoughts and experiences and if it becomes something, that is great.

“I hope, God willing, that I will start to do my own thing soon and not rely on others to hire me. I think I am at the age where waiting for the phone to ring is past me. I am not a kid anymore, I can’t play kiddies games anymore.”

Reasons behind Marah Louw leaving ‘The Queen’ emerge

Actress Mara Louw, who plays Boi in the Queen, will no longer be on the show.

She has left in what she claims as copyright infringements she saw within the drama’s storyline.

Details

Marah went ahead to say that the storyline resembled one she had documented in her biography, It’s Me Marah.

“I refused because the storyline resembled an incident that is in my book. I told them that I was not going to reenact my life in a soapie. I refused because it is the kind of incident that I would not want to go through again, let alone talking about it. I told them that they got the story from my book and there is a copyright issue involved. They asked another actress to act in the episode, which still hurt me.”

Marah declined to act out the role and was then summoned to a meeting with her producers who told her they had run out of ideas for her role.

She then went home and contacted her lawyer.

Ferguson Films are yet to respond to her allegations.
