Meghan Markle travels to New York for baby shower

Meghan Markle traveled to New York city for her baby shower that was held on Tuesday at 4pm at Mark Hotel. She is believed to be in the city for a five-day mini holiday.

Just 15 of her closest friends were invited for the shower. These included among others Serena Williams, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Abigail Spencer.

Details about Meghan’s baby shower still remain under wraps. However, we can confirm that hundreds of flowers were delivered at the venue.

One of the gifts is said to have been a three-in-one convertible crib costing slightly over R5,000.

Meghan Markle Hints On Baby’s Due Date

Meghan Markle has revealed that her first child with Prince Harry may be arriving sooner than we think.

In October, Kensington Palace announced that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were expecting their first child in the spring of 2019.

As spring is usually between mid-March and mid-June. With Meghan’s comments however, it seems the baby could be arriving in March!

She got to answer questions about her pregnancy from a crowd after the morning church service on Christmas Day.

Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle made a surprise appearance to the British Fashion Awards.

She attended the event to present the British Womenswear Designer of the Year award. This was to her dress designer Clare Waight Keller, of Givenchy.

Meghan also looked dashing as she showed off her growing baby bump in a one shouldered black Givenchy gown.

“Sometimes it’s very personal, sometimes it’s emotional. But for me, this connection is rooted in really being able to understand that it’s about supporting and empowering each other, especially women,” she said.

The Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle is expecting her first child. This was announced by Kensington Palace yesterday.

In the statement, the couple are said to be happy to announce their bundle of joy that will arrive in the spring of 2019.

They went ahead to thank fans for their support since their wedding in May.

Speculation has been rife for weeks when it was reported Megan’s mother Doria was attending nanny classes to look after the baby once it arrives. Later, it was announced she would not be accompanying Prince harry to Fiji, a thing that further fueled the rumors.

Exactly two weeks after Meghan Markle got married, her ex-husband Trevor Engelson has some news of his own. He is officially engaged.

According to US Weekly, Trevor proposed to his girlfriend Tracey Kurland, in Napa, after dating for three years.

He went ahead to share the news on his private Instagram account, saying: “Luckiest guy I know! Get ready to party!”

Trevor and Meghan were married in 2011. They then quietly divorced in 2013, citing irreconcilable differences.

Meghan Markle makes first public appearance with the Queen

Meghan Markle made her first public appearance with Queen Elizabeth II, at the Commonwealth Day service on Monday.

The day is held annually to celebrate the alliance of the 53 countries including Australia, which make up the Commonwealth. The service took place at Westminster Abbey. More than 2,000 guests were in attendance.

Her appearance marks yet another milestone towards joining the British monarch family.

On arrival at the abbey, Harry and Meghan were welcomed with shouts and screams from members of the public.

In attendance too was Prince William and his wife Kate.

Meghan was dashing in a navy mid-length dress with an Amanda Wakeley white coat, a Stephen Jones beret and navy blue clutch.

Prince Charles, the Duchess of Cornwall and Queen Elizabeth followed behind. The Queen’s husband, 96-year-old Prince Philip, has retired from public life and did not attend.

Other guests

Other guests included British Prime Minister Theresa May and Opposition Leader Jeremy Corbyn as well as the high commissioners from the Commonwealth countries accredited in London.

 

Meghan Markle enjoys spa themed bridal shower ahead of baptism

Meghan Markle enjoyed a private spa themed bridal shower with her friends. This comes ahead of her baptism into the Church of England.

Markus Anderson, a close friend to the royal couple, is said to have put the shower together. The shower happened at the Soho Farmhouse in London, over the weekend.

Soho Farmhouse features 100 acres of Oxfordshire countryside. It has cabins, cottages, indoor and outdoor pools, a barn cinema, tennis courts, a spa and sauna.

A source told E! News, “Marcus Anderson has helped throw the shower for Meghan and a small group of mostly her London friends. It’s just a relaxing day of good food and pampering.”

Those in attendance at the bridal shower included Lindsay Jill Roth and Heather Dorak.

Baptism

Later this week, Markle is to be baptised and confirmed in the Church of England.

The baptism will take place at the Kensington Palace chapel and performed by Archbishop Justin Welby. Markle’s parents will be in attendance too.

This will mark the first time Prince Harry meets Meghan’s father, Thomas Markle.

Kensington Palace announced in a statement on Friday who the royal couple will be inviting from the public to attend their special day.

“Prince Harry and Ms. Markle would like their wedding day to be shaped to allow members of the public to share in the joy and the fun of the day.”

The statement further revealed that they will invite 2 640 members of the public to Windsor Castle on their wedding day.

The large group will be made up of the following:

  •  1 200 people from all corners of the UK be selected by Lord Lieutenants, including young people who have shown strong leadership and those who have served their communities.
  •  200 people from charities and organisations close to Prince Harry and Ms. Markle.
  •  100 pupils from two local schools namely: The Royal School, Great Park, Windsor and St George’s School, Windsor Castle
  •  610 Windsor Castle community members including residents and members of St George’s Chapel
  •  530 Members of The Royal Households and Crown Estate
  • No further details regarding who is on Harry and Meghan’s personal list of guests has been released.

Meghan Markle ready to hit the ground running

Upon being a member of the British royal family, Meghan Markle wants to hit the ground running. She wants to use her position to highlight the empowerment of women.

“For me it’s very important to want to hit the ground running… Even if it’s doing it quietly behind the scenes, which is what I’ve focused my energy on thus far.”

Markle said this while attending an event in London alongside Harry, Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Royal Foundation

This was the first joint engagement by the two couples. They celebrated the work of the Royal Foundation. The foundation supports charities including the Heads Together mental-health campaign and the Invictus Games for injured troops.

During a question and answer session, Markle said she was still new to her role. For her however, it’s very important to want to hit the ground running.

She is set to marry Prince Harry in May.

Prince Harry has introduced Meghan Markle to a different world. This is ahead of their wedding in May.

On Thursday, Prince Harry took Meghan to Wales. Outside Cardiff Castle, crowds were delighted by their presence.

They greeted fans and shook hands with many who had stood in the cold waiting for a chance to greet the prince and his soon to be bride.

Meghan was in a black coat by British designer Stella McCartney, and jeans from Hiut Denim, a Welsh designer. Harry, was in a blue sweater.

Itinerary

Upon their arrival, they were presented with a traditional Celtic love spoon, by nine year old Megan Taylor, and six year old Harry Smith. Their tour included a Welsh Festival of Culture. They also visited the StarHub community centre.

Prince Harry and Meghan have already made trips to Nottingham and the Brixton neighbourhood in south London.

The couple posed for photographer Alexi Lubomirski in the grounds of Frogmore House, a royal retreat close to Windsor Castle, earlier this week.

“Not only was it an incredible honour, but also an immense privilege to be invited to share and be a witness to this young couple’s love for each other. I cannot help but smile when I look at the photos that we took,” said Lubomirski in an Instagram post.

The first is a more formal portrait of the couple posed on a set of steps. Prince Harry looks dapper in a classic navy suit, while Markle is red carpet ready in a floor-length gown with a ruffled skirt and a sheer embellished top.

The next is a casual portrait showing Markle cuddling up to her Prince Charming, with HRH wrapping his jacket protectively around her. Their smiles are as bright as the diamonds on Markle’s ring finger.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to wed in May

Britain’s Prince Harry and his US fiancee Meghan Markle will marry in a chapel at Windsor Castle near London in May, the royal family said on Tuesday.

“As with all members of the royal family, Windsor is a very special place for Prince Harry, and he and Ms Markle have regularly spent time there over the last year and a half,” Kensington Palace, the royal residence in London where they are currently staying, said in a statement.

Harry, 33, and Meghan, 36, will marry in the castle’s St George’s Chapel are “delighted that the beautiful grounds of Windsor Castle will be where they begin their lives together as a married couple.”

They want the wedding to be “a celebratory moment for their friends and family” but are also working on ways to “allow members of the public to feel part of the celebrations,” the statement said.

The royal family will pay for the main expenses of the wedding, including the church service, music, flowers, decorations and the reception, it said.
