Minnie Dlamini speaks on her marriage

During an interview on YFM, Minnie Dlamini  spoke on her marriage to Mr Jones.

Minnie described her husband as her best friend and knows that her heart is safe with him.

“The dynamic of the relationship is still the same but it has got more hectic in that when you are dating you leave space for disappointment but when someone gets down on one knee and asks you to be their wife, you sit there and go, ‘this is it. Nobody is going anywhere.’ You become more comfortable, it’s a safe space. One of the ways I describe it is that I feel my heart is safe.

“He is my best friend so I always felt safe but when he went on one knee I knew that everything I was feeling was 100% reciprocal,” she said.

The TV star also explained that even though she was legally Minehle Jones, she decided to keep her maiden name not to confuse fans.

She said that even though fans have double barreled her surname, legally Dlamini was gone.

“I am trying to play it by ear and see if it sticks. I am not trying to force anything down people’s throats. I will have a double barrel for commercial purposes but Dlamini is gone legally. My ID, everything, is Mrs Jones,” she added.

Minnie Dlamini admits to having feud with just one person in the industry

Rivalry in the entertainment industry is not unheard of. Minnie Dlamini too, is not an exception to this.

She admitted to not seeing eye-to-eye with one person in the industry.

Minnie told YFM that there was one person she was feuding with.

“For sure. I wouldn’t say (I was beefing with) a couple, probably just one.”

She did not name the person, nor the reason for their feud. She added that often things were blown out of perspective because there was no communication.

“We are cool as long as you haven’t done anything to disrespect me, and I haven’t disrespected you. And in the event that it happens, I hope you pick up the phone and we have a chat about it. People allow things to be unnecessary. People like gossip.”

According to Minnie, if celebs took the time to speak to each other, they would see that it is not that deep.

“I try to filter out what people tell me that other celebs have said. I have learnt through experience that people say I have said things about others, and I don’t even know who that person is. So if I bump into you, I’m definitely bringing it up. But if it sounds far-fetched or I don’t believe it, I keep pushing.”

Minnie Dlamini shuts down divorce rumours

There have been rumours about Minnie Dlamini’s marriage hitting the rocks.

A publication claimed that Minnie and her husband had a public spat at the Cape Town International Airport. It goes on to say that several sources close to the couple, confirmed that Minnie was shouting at her husband. This is alleged to have taken place in full view of the public.

Minnie’s response

Minnie however responded in a Tweet saying: “First I’m getting divorced then I’m fighting in public with my husband. Mrs Jones ain’t going anywhere no matter what lies you try to spread.”

On New Years eve, one of the things she said she was grateful for in 2017 was her marriage.

Whats Minnie and Bonang relationship like

Minnie Dlamini and Bonang Matheba relationship is still not clear as to whether they are friends or not.

The TV personalities are often compared to each other, and they reportedly compete for the same endorsement deals and industry positions.

Minnie and Bonang have both denied that are beefing, but their behaviour might suggest otherwise.

Bonang was accused of stealing Minnie’s spotlight in July when she changed the date of her 30th birthday party to the day of her alleged nemesis’ umembeso.

Here’s a look at the alleged beef between the two stars, and how it all started,

The beginning

Bonang and Minnie’s feud reportedly began when they both worked as presenters on SABC 1’s music show, LIVE (now Live AMP). Minnie won the show’s presenter search, and made her debut in 2010.

Everyone was curious about the Durban beauty, who held her own on the same show as Queen B. Then rumours started to swirl that Bonang was not impressed with all the attention the new kid on the block was getting. But Queen B has always maintained that was not the case.

Bonang and Minnie cool?

Bonang told Drum magazine in 2015 that she was not competing with Minnie, and had no beef with the ‘It Girl’. “I have no idea where the perceived beef rumours started. Minnie and I are cool. We’re friends,” she told the publication.

Not friends

Despite their denials, rumours of a feud persisted, and Minnie tried to set the record straight in an interview with Grazia magazine in 2015.

“I want people to know that I don’t like talking about other personalities in the industry. That being said, Bonang and I are one hundred percent not friends. However, we’re not enemies either and I respect her as a colleague,” she told the magazine.

Did Bonang sabotage Minnie’s wedding day?

Bonang was accused of trying to steal Minnie’s shine when she threw her 30th birthday bash on the same day as Minnie’s traditional wedding.

However B maintained that this was not the case, and merely a coincidence.

“I have been in the industry for 13 years. It is water off a duck’s back. I am not worried about what people say. They will always talk about me because of who I am. As one of the biggest personalities in the country, if I throw a party, people care,” she told Tshisa Live.

Don’t follow her

A few months after Bonang was accused of stealing Minnie Dlamini’s traditional wedding spotlight, Minnie threw some major shade at the TV personality. When Jacaranda FM DJ Martin Bester asked her if she insta-stalked Bonang, she answered with a very firm no. “I don’t even follow her,” she admitted.

Minnie Dlamini hits another milestone

Minnie Dlamini finally hit the 2 million followers mark. Numbers on social media are a big thing, and Minnie couldn’t keep the news to herself. With dedicated fans like hers, she made it.

She took to Instagram to celebrate this milestone. Minnie wrote: “Just when I thought this year couldn’t get any better. Thank you to all 2 Million of you for joining and sharing in my journey this year.”

She made a hashtag for the same, #Minnie2Millie.

Congratulations to her.

Minnie Dlamini Parties in Paris for her Bachelorette Party

Minnie Dlamini’s wedding woes with wedding planner

A couple of weeks ago, Minnie Dlamini and Quinton Jones got married.

Theirs was a lavish white wedding that was documented in a 3 part docu-series that is currently airing on Vuzu AMP.

It was however revealed that Minnie and Quinton were involved in a financial scuffle with their wedding planner. This is according to the Sunday World.

The paper goes on to say that the dispute between the two parties came after the wedding. Minnie is said to have told her wedding planner that they would pay for the services rendered for the wedding with exposure which will amount to R6 million. However, Minnie could not prove that that was the arrangement she and her wedding planner had.

Sunday World went on to report that Minnie and her husband claimed they could not afford to pay the R500,000. Instead, they could pay R300,000.

In the paper, the wedding planner’s lawyer confirmed that the matter is now resolved.

“Our client has instructed us to advise that she has accepted a settlement offer made by Mrs Minnie Dlamini, the terms of which our client, in good faith, prefers not to disclose.”

No honeymoon just yet for Minnie Dlamini

From buying a house to the production of Becoming Mrs Jones, Minnie Dlamini has been a lady on the move.

With all these going on for her, their honeymoon had to be postponed.

Minnie got married to Quinton in a lavish wedding on September, and are just now beginning to settle.

The two have officially moved into their new home which is estimated to be worth R 4million. The couple is said to be very happy and enjoying life together.

“Minnie and Quinton sold their homes and bought a bigger one together in the northern suburbs of Johannesburg. The pair is very private and only a few close friends and family have been invites to their home. Minnie has learned that she can’t trust many people on her life. Ever since her wedding gown pictures were leaked she is not taking chances on new relationships,” a source revealed.

Minnie’s wedding was to be kept private, until her documentary aired, but someone leaked the images to the public.

Minnie is back to work and was spotted hosting the KFC Taste Kitchen finale last Friday.

The first episode of her 3-part wedding documentary is set to air on Friday the 13th.

Becoming Mrs Jones set to make debut

The star studded wedding affair has put the generally private television star Minnie Dlamini, in the limelight.

The three part series Becoming Mrs Jones, is set to premiere in October 13th on DStv’s Vuzu Amp.

The series comes following her nuptial celebrations that culminated about a week ago at the Lourensford Wine Estate, when she and her husband Quinton Jones tied the knot.

The traditional party was held in Durban, in July.

“Becoming Mrs Jones is incredibly personal and the most transparent I have been in my career. I’m excited for people to see me in my new role as executive producer. It is the kind of work I intend on making moving forward in the local entertainment industry.

Mostly, I’m excited to show everyone a true and authentic love story,” she said.

Minnie finally spoke on the details of her wedding.

Fashion couturier Gert-Johan Coetzee was entrusted to design her dreamy gown and the reception dress.

Her whole dress was encrusted with crystals.

“I gave Gert the brief, which was to look like a fairytale princess.

It has always been my dream to look like a Disney princess, and he knocked it out of the park,” she said.

“There were a few hiccups but at the end everything worked out like the fairytale I dreamed of.”

“The traditional wedding was very African, and obviously the white wedding was Western. But fundamentally, the same amount of love was shown in each, making both the happiest days of my life.”
