Mpho Maboi and footballer Reneilwe Letsholonyane are said to have tied the knot.

In her Metro FM radio show with DJ Fresh today, Mpho revealed she got married in a secret ceremony.

“Yeah, he is now my husband. Yes (we got married). It is done.”

The station’s breakfast show team were surprised and joked about not being invited to the wedding.

No white wedding

Earlier this year, Mpho had talked about not having a white wedding.

“We will not be having a white wedding. I don’t get the idea of a white wedding if we have done the traditional stuff and all I don’t see the need for a white wedding,” Mpho said.

Mpho Maboi opened up about how she got fired from YFM. Although she did not expect to be fired, she had plans to leave the station.

“Before I came to being fired, I had felt like I was getting too old for the audience, and I had been feeling antsy for a while and I felt like, I need to leave… I think at some point I just started misbehaving because I needed to make things exciting for myself, I started pushing the envelope,” Mpho said.

“I got fired for playing an unscheduled song of a big artist who had come in for an interview.”

Although Mpho did not get a chance to say goodbye to her fans, she is grateful it happened the way it did.

“At the time that it happened I was ok with it. I always believe that when it’s time to move, the universe, it whispers, then it starts talking to you, and then it shouts, and that was my shout. And when it happened I was at peace with it.”

Mpho has risen and is now the sports anchor, a co-host on Metro FM’s breakfast show, hosting a sports show on Thursdays from 6:00-7.20 pm. She has even won Sports Personality Of The Year Award.
