Detectives in Kikuyu have arrested Nicholas Mutua Mutia, 34, in connection with the death of Jane Atila Quedeya, a student at the University of Nairobi, Kikuyu Campus.
Discovery of the Body
Atila’s body was discovered on October 17, 2025 in the Kefri Muguga Forest, Kiambu County, four days after the family reported her missing.
The remains were badly decomposed. Authorities confirmed her identity through forensic fingerprint analysis conducted with the National Registration Bureau.
Suspect and Arrest
Investigations revealed that Atila was last seen with her estranged boyfriend, Nicholas Mutua Mutia.
DCI detectives arrested Mutia and arraigned him before the Kikuyu Law Courts on October 25, 2025.
