Football journalist Odu Cobra killed in Dusit terror attack lands two nominations for International Sports Press Association award

James Oduor alias Odu Cobra was among many people who were trapped in DusitD2 hotel when assailants stormed into the facility and unleashed horror.

Odu took to Twitter to announce that he had been trapped inside the DusitD2 complex, he sought to find out from the outside world what was happening.

Sadly Odu never made it out alive, he was among 21 people who were killed by the gunmen who fired indiscriminately at anyone they saw.

Odu could be no more but the amazing work he did lives on, the deceased is among top 10 finalists in the International Sports Press Association (AIPS) awards under the Africa category.

His two TV productions – “We Must Relive History reactions from, Gor Mahia Fans” and “Oti Father’s Favorite Phrase” have been nominated for AIPS award.

Odu ran online TV ‘Wadau TV’ which focused on grassroots football in Kenya. He also coached Kibera Angels Soccer Academy besides his full time job at LG Electronics.
