 Relebogile Mabotja appointed as SAMRO Deputy Chairperson

Relebogile Mabotja announced on Twitter that she is happy to be among the new SAMRO leadership.

She was voted in as the new Deputy chairman of The Southern African Music Rights Organisation (SAMRO).

Ms. Mabotja has been serving on the board since 2016 and will hold the position until a new Chair is appointed.

So proud to announce that I have been appointed as the Vice-Chairperson of SAMRO Music. An organization I hold dear to my heart. I will serve as Acting Chair until an independent Board Member is appointed in the position permanently. One of the greatest honors of my life. She made the announcement on Twitter

Relebogile Mabotja returns to TV

Relebogile Mabotja is back on our screens on popular soapie Skeem Saam. This is after a seven year break from TV.

Relebogile made her debut on Wednesday and was excited about it.

“I was so excited and I’ve just been waiting to share the news. The time between shooting and appearing on screen is so long,” she said.

She is not going to leave production and hopes to manage her time well between that and acting.

“It is important for me to be strategic about what I announce and how I actually manage my career, now because of where I am. I am still producing so I’ve been afraid to kind of take on things. When I do something I want to give it my all. But once I decided I was going back to acting, a major door opened and more is coming.”

Relebogile also has an upcoming role in another soapie that she is yet to reveal but we will be sure to share the news as soon as we have it.
