Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has set tongues wagging online after openly declaring his interest in Marion Naipei, the 22-year-old woman recently thrust into the spotlight over allegations of digital abuse by her US-based partner.
Salasya’s comments came just days after Marion held a widely publicised meeting with Nairobi County Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria, where she sought help following the leak of a private video allegedly shared without her consent.
“Nipe Number Yake” — Salasya Shoots His Shot
Taking to social media, the outspoken MP directly addressed Mosiria and made a bold, very public request: Marion’s phone number. Salasya confessed his fondness for “short girls” and suggested he could be the “serious boyfriend” she needs to help her move on from the scandal.
“I love short girl, nipe number yake… she can get a serious boyfriend to mentor her like me,” Salasya wrote.
He went on to downplay the incident, urging Marion to keep quiet and let the matter pass, insisting that mistakes happen and that forgiveness was the best path forward.
“In summary, just keep quiet mrembo… mistakes hu happen and at times we have no control. It shall pass and you will come out strong. Hata police station haezi saidia, let’s just forget and forgive,” he added.
How the Scandal Unfolded
Marion’s ordeal began after private footage of her was circulated online, sparking outrage and debate. She revealed that she had been in a year-long relationship with the suspect, whom she believed genuinely loved her and promised a future together.
According to Marion, the man had pledged to take her to the United States, but she claims she was secretly recorded during a night out at a club. She said she felt dizzy after consuming food and drinks ordered by him.
“We met with this guy a year ago… he had a lot of promises. He promised to take me to the US,” she said while seeking help.
Search for Justice
Since her meeting with Mosiria, investigations into the alleged non-consensual leak have intensified. Authorities are treating the case as a serious act of cyber exploitation and humiliation.
Mosiria confirmed that two people connected to the case are being processed at Buruburu Police Station, while the main suspect is still on the run.
Public Figures React
Salasya isn’t the only public figure weighing in. Actress and media personality Carrol Sonie also joined the conversation, but with a very different tone. She appealed to the public to help locate Marion, saying she wants to support and “treat” her.
“This is not the end of things for her. Help me get her, please,” Sonie wrote.
As the story continues to dominate timelines, it has reignited heated discussions about digital safety, consent, and how society responds when women become victims of online abuse.
