Details on Shoki Mokgapa’s memorial service revealed

Shoki Mokgapa’s memorial service is set to take place today.

The actress died last week in what has been termed as an attempted suicide.

Shoki’s memorial service will thus take place from 3pm to 5pm at The Market Photo Workshop in Newtown.

Tributes continue to pour in to the family of the actress and the whole entertainment industry who have lost quite a talented member.

Actress Shoki Mokgapa’s cause of death revealed

Shoki Mokgapa cause of death has been revealed.

MLA the agency who represented the award-winning actress, said that the star had committed suicide after “a long struggle with clinical depression and anxiety”.

“The South African film and television industry has suffered a loss in the passing local actress, Shoki Mokgapa. After a long struggle with clinical depression and anxiety she took her life on Tuesday 25 September at the age of 34. She was a brave woman who had been seeking help but the disease proved to be stronger than her,” the statement reads in part.

It goes on to say: “Her family and friends are currently together, going through the process of mourning and burial. They celebrate their daughter and appreciate all the love that her fans and peers have extended to them.”

A memorial service is planned for Tuesday 2 October 2018.

Intersexions actress Shoki Mokgapa dies

Award winning actress Shoki Mokgapa has died. She is best known for her role on TV shows such as Intersexions, Ashes to Ashes and The Lab.

The cause of her death is yet to be established.

News of Shoki’s death was confirmed by her management company. She died on Tuesday night.

“She was such a professional and such an amazing performer. The scenes that are currently on The Docket were such a pleasure to shoot because she was also such a sweetheart. She was really talented and who knows what more she could have done and we are saddened by the news of her death.”

Just last year, Shoki won the Best actress award in a feature film at the Saftas, for her role in SINK.
