Thulisa Keyi Speaks On How Her Past Led Her To Her Present

Fans now have a chance to vote for Thulisa Keyi, bringing her much closer to the Miss World crown. This is after her head-to-head challenge went live.

In the challenge, she is seen with beauties from Venezuela, Latvia, Wales, Sierra Leone and Finland. They all first start by making a video presentation which is then followed by a question from Miss World presenter Frankie Cena.

A final question is then thrown at each of the contestants.

“What do you think is the biggest thing that separates you from the other contestants?”

“I grew up in the new democratic South Africa, full of opportunities. Now I have the ability to work hard and go after my dreams, and create my own destiny. But that was not the case for my parents, and I understand that not everyone has access to these opportunities. So I don’t take anything for granted. I believe that everything I had been through has led me to this point, it has strengthened my passion to serve, and it has led me to this journey,” Thulisa answered.
Since the beginning of the pageant, she has been performing exceptionally well, placing fifth in Miss World Top Model competition.

Thulisa Keyi prepping to represent country at the Miss World beauty pageant

Thulisa Keyi will battle it out with women from 119 countries for the coveted Miss World crown.

One of her gowns was recently unveiled at a swanky event in Johannesburg. The dress has incorporated elements of her Xhosa culture, an important factor for her.

According to her designer Biji Gibbs, Thulisa wanted a simple, bold and elegant gown.

“I had asked Thulisa to send suggestions of designs or patterns which meant a lot to her personally and culturally. This is a wonderful way to create a synthesis of my skills fused with the soul of the person who is to wear one of my creations. Thulisa sent me many reference pictures of traditional Xhosa attire which is mostly black and white in bold geometric patterns and stripes.”

As she seeks to raise awareness on education and PTSD, we wish her nothing but the best.

She jets off to China this week.
