Geoffrey Mosiria Embraces ‘Women Rep’ Calls, Declares Himself Patron of Women and Single Mothers

Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service Geoffrey Mosiria has responded to a growing online campaign suggesting he should run for the position of Nairobi Woman Representative, jokingly declaring himself a champion of women and single mothers.

In a statement shared on his social media platforms on Thursday, July 23, 2026, Mosiria said he had noticed the “Mosiria for Women Rep” campaign circulating online and welcomed the idea, saying he has always been committed to supporting women through his public service.

“Kuna watu walianza online campaign eti Mosiria for Women Rep. Nikasema ni sawa, juu mimi ni kiongozi wa kina mama, dada zetu na single mothers. Hamna shida,” he said.

Declares Himself Patron of Women

Continuing in a light-hearted tone, Mosiria announced that he would consider himself the patron of women, single mothers and “beautiful women” across Nairobi and the country.

“Kuanzia leo, jua mimi ndio patron wa wamama, single mothers na warembo wangu wote Nairobi na Kenya nzima!” he said.

He concluded his remarks by calling for respect towards women.

“Nani ako na swali? Kina mama na dada zetu waheshimiwe.”

Public Service at the Centre of His Image

Although his comments were made jokingly, Mosiria has built a reputation as a hands-on public servant who frequently responds to the needs of Nairobi residents, particularly vulnerable groups.

During his tenure at Nairobi City County, he has been involved in initiatives aimed at helping people living on the streets, supporting the rehabilitation of individuals battling drug and substance abuse, and facilitating programmes designed to help beneficiaries rebuild their lives.

He has also earned public recognition for intervening in cases involving injustice, responding to complaints from residents and coordinating rescue efforts during emergencies.

Through his active social media presence, Mosiria regularly engages with Nairobi residents, who often tag him in complaints about environmental pollution, illegal dumping, noise disturbances and other public service issues. In many cases, he has mobilised the relevant county teams to address the concerns.
