In the tweet sighted on the ‘Can’t Let You Go’ hitmaker’s twitter page, he wrote:

I Don’t Allow Fame To Get Into My Head – Lil Win

Kumawood actor cum musician, Kwadwo Nkansah, aka Lil Win has revealed what has caused

him to stay relevant in the showbiz industry since he burst onto the scene about a decade ago

The ‘Edan Nkyen Mu’ crooner in an interview with Graphic Showbiz revealed that one of

his secrets is that he is not allowing stardom get into his head.

“The day I feel I am a star and start acting like that, I will look down on other people. I am not that kind of person because it is my fans who got me where I am now,” he said.

According to him, his mum sometimes gets worried about the way he lives his life.

“Recently I was on a bicycle roaming the streets of Kumasi and she was worried because someone could do something to me.

“I could have hired security to follow me wherever I go but that is not really important because I live a simple life. It has never crossed my mind that someone can harm me. Can you imagine if I start snubbing my fans who always want to take pictures with me? Lil Win asked.

“I always say that a famous person who does not come close to his fans ends up fading away in no time. I am a down to earth person and I know more things are coming my way,” he added.

Stop The Bullsh*t, I’ve No Investment With Menzgold – Yvonne Nelson

Since the current brouhaha at Menzgold, there have been several reports about names of some

celebs who had supposedly invested with the firm.

One of such names that pooped out is actress cum movie producer Yvonne Nelson.

She is alleged to have invested GHC330,000.00 in Menzgold in the list which included

Asamoah Gyan, Captain Smart, Sarkodie, Abeiku Santana among others.

Reacting to the news however, Yvonne has come out to rubbish such reports.

According to her, she is not part of celebrities who have invested huge sums of money in

gold dealership firm Menzgold as per reports.

Taking to Twitter on Sunday, she described as “rubbish” the inclusion of her name in the list of

persons who have saved with Menzgold.

“Whoever is using my image in this menzgold crap better watch out,” she tweeted.

She added: “I don’t have any investment with them! Why don’t you write about their artistes. Rubbish!!!”

Meanwhile, a financial analyst has said celebrities who endorsed the activities of Menzgold

should be held accountable for misleading the public.

According to Joe Jackson, the celebrities used their influence to give credibility to the

activities of Menzgold.

His comments come after the police issued a bench warrant for the arrest of the CEO of

Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah, for defrauding by false pretense.

“In terms of holding people accountable, I think the people who should be held most responsible are all those so-called celebrities, people of responsible influence and give credibility to this scheme,” he said on 3news.

Hundreds of customers have their monies locked up in Menzgold, after the Securities and

Exchange Commission (SEC) directed the company to suspend admitting new customers for

trading without appropriate licenses.

Menzgold customers have been staging demonstrations to compel the government to bring

the CEO of the gold dealership firm to book.

Kalybos Reacts To Sabotage Allegation By Nana Fremah

Actor and comedian, Kalybos addresses the allegations from actress and musician, Nana Frema Korateng. According to her, he intentionally sabotaged her planned performance during the last edition of the Ghana Movie Awards

Moreover, he stated that contrary to the allegations of Nana Fremah, he doesn’t own the Ghana movie awards. Therefore, he can never Sabotage her.

However, Kalybos admitted that Nana Fremah was to perform about three songs before the show went live. However, the format of the event changed totally. This is because it started later than the time advertised.

“Because the event started late, even as the official host for the event, you couldn’t see much of me and lots of the activities couldn’t take place because we had very little time. I don’t own the movie awards, I was being told whatever I was supposed to do, you can ask…”

My Mum’s Death Contributed To Making My Song ‘Mansa’ A Hit – Bisa K’dei

Highlife musician, Bisa K’dei talks about his huge hit ‘Mansa’. According to him, the death of his late mother, Josephine Bruce made the ‘Mansa’ song a hit in Ghana.

He made these statements in an interview with Okyeame Quophie on the Emklan Tv Show. Moreover, Bisa stated that on the eve of releasing the visuals for the ‘Mansa’ song, he received a call that his mother was sick. Also, she  was rushed to Cocoa Clinic in North Kaneshie, Accra

“On the 19th August, I was on radio promoting ‘Mansa’ and was also getting ready to release the video. I was about to tweet and post the video of ‘Mansa’ song on social media. That is when I had a call that my mum was really ill but I still went ahead to post the video. My mum passed on that same day. It was both joy and pain when the song was everywhere.”

According to the Singer, his mum’s death and his accident made music lovers jam to his ‘Mansa’ song. This is because they sympathized with him.

Furthermore, Bisa disclosed that ‘Mansa’ got him a lot of shows outside Ghana.

“It got to a time people complained that I have neglected my own people (Ghanaians) and I’m connecting with other African countries. The song gave me a lot of recognitions where I had to perform it at Liberia, Cote d’Ivoire, Gabon and other countries. Mansa has been my biggest hit song.”

I Never Dated Musician Nana Frema Koranteng – Kalybos

The actor admitted that he knows Frema but he is only aware of her because she is an industry person.

Celebrities And Politicians Who Endorsed MenzGold Should Be Blamed – Lydia Forson

Award-winning Ghanaian actress, Lydia Forson adds her voice to the Menzgold saga. She stated that affiliated politicians and celebrities with the MenzGold brand should be blamed for the customers woes.

Moreover, according to Ms Forson, these celebrities and politicians made MenzGold look attractive to the customers. Therefore, they invested in the scheme.

“Here’s the thing, Menzgold ran a pretty good media campaign. High profile celebrities endorsed the company. The CEO rubbed shoulders with some of the most important people, including politicians in the country. Did any of these people have suspicions about the company? I’m sure they did.

Also, she stressed that customers should not be blamed because they refused to heed to advice from the Bank of Ghana.

“There are so many stories surrounding this issue that I wouldn’t even know where to begin; however I’ve seen so many people blame the victims of this investment for being greedy and not heeding to BoG’s warnings, and that’s what I want to address.”

Becca, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, Kumi Guitar, Joyce Blessing, Zynel Zuh, James Gardiner and Benedicta Gafah were on Zylofon Media. Zylofon was one of the many affiliations of the MenzGold Brand. Also, they used their platform to advertise for the brand.

Others who endorsed MenzGold and their dealings also include Joselyn Dumas, Okyeame Kwame, Sarkodie, Jackie Appiah, among others.

It’s Unfortunate To Call Hollywood Stars’ Visit To Ghana ‘Useless’ – Abraham Attah’s Manager To David Osei

Mawuko Kuadzi, manager of actor Abraham Attah, has described actor Prince David Osei’s

‘useless’ comments about the recent visit of some Hollywood stars to Ghana as inappropriate.

The actor who is not enthused about the visit by some Hollywood stars to Ghana during the

festive season was of the view that stars should have engaged stakeholders in the Ghanaian

creative industry to share ideas.

David Osei told Citi TV, “I want to find out if the Ministry of Tourism is behind the Hollywood stars coming to Ghana, being in the creative arts and coming from the creative arts, I didn’t see when we got to interact with the so-called Hollywood stars who came to town.”

“I feel if it is a way of boosting tourism they are all in the creative arts industry, they are musicians and actors, so if they come to town we need to interact with them to share expertise and aside that we should have had a workshop.

Of what benefit is it to us the actors and the musicians here in Ghana when at the end of the day we saw them at the beach having parties, popping champagne and drinking with some being enstooled as chiefs but we never got to engage them,” he said.

“We in the creative arts never got to meet them or interact with them so I don’t know the essence of the visit if it was for fun,” David added.

But Mr. Kuadzi who finds his opinion unfortunate in a post on Facebook said Boris Kodjoe who

has been made ambassador for the film industry has been able to bring back home all these

Hollywood stars but the thirty (30) ambassadors for tourism have done nothing for the country

since their unveiling.

According to him, the Hollywood actors who visited this country left here with Ghana on their

lips and this will give opportunities to producers and directors to want to come and do business here and filmmakers in Ghana will get jobs to do.

Reacting to Prince David Osei’s creative art stakeholders not able to engage or share ideas with the Hollywood stars, Kuadzi reacted that “These Hollywood stars were here for vacation not to do workshops.”

It was therefore not surprising that the spotlight was on Ghana in December 2018, when top Hollywood stars including Boris Kodjoe, Idris Elba and top model Naomi Campbell among others, visited the country.

Read Mawuko Kuadzi’s full post below:

I’m disappointed at the words of this fine gentleman [Prince David Osei]. I expected more but this morning after watching the video I am like ?????????????????????????????????. Did he call them “so-called” Hollywood stars? Oh my goodness. I want to leave it here….but no let me address few things he touched on.

It’s very unfortunate he called their visit useless. Actor Boris Kodjoe was made ambassador for the film industry and he was able to bring back home all these “so-called Hollywood stars”. What have the 30 ambassadors for tourism who were chosen done?

This individuals who visited this country left here with Ghana on their lips and this will attract more attention for more producers and directors to want to come and do business here and filmmakers in Ghana will get jobs to do.

This “so-called Hollywood stars” were here for vacation not to do workshops. Let’s have in mind that we only have a Tourism minister but not a Creative Arts minister. So we should not expect the minister to do anything for us. What was Ghana Actors Guild doing? Bro David, are you a member of the Guild? What is the “so-called guild” in Ghana doing?

Let’s look at the good in things than the negativity.

God bless the Ghana Film Industry, God bless Ghana. Happy 2019.
