Nairobi Official Advises Khalif Kairo to Avoid Distractions as He Rebuilds — Kenyans React

Nairobi County’s Environment Chief Officer, Geoffrey Mosiria, has stirred debate online after offering blunt advice to embattled entrepreneur Khalif Kairo, urging him to avoid women and focus on rebuilding his life and business.

In a video clip circulating on social media, Mosiria directly addresses Kairo, drawing from personal experience to emphasize the importance of discipline and discretion.

“There was a time I was up, then I came down. And there’s only one thing that brings us down — women. My brother, let your thing be like a password,” Mosiria warned.

He went on to describe Kairo as a “hardworking, genuine, and God-fearing” man and called on Kenyans to support his business resurgence. As reported by Drenews, Mosiria also cautioned young Kenyans against chasing shortcuts to wealth and falling into romantic distractions that could lead to financial or even criminal downfall.

Online Reactions: Skepticism, Humor, and Criticism

The remarks quickly drew mixed reactions on X (formerly Twitter), with many Kenyans questioning whether Kairo would actually follow the advice.

  • @lisakimwaki remarked, “He already has a new one sitting on the co-driver’s seat, so this is wasted advice.”

  • @Omwanga2 joked, “Utamuona na wanawake bado,” implying Kairo is unlikely to change.

  • @states_79 offered a harsher take, writing, “Goefry from 2027 atakua jobless,” suggesting Mosiria’s political future might be in doubt.

  • @tweetfrommelloh added simply, “Na haskizi,” (He’s not listening).

The reactions reflect a general perception that Kairo, known for his flamboyant image and public relationships, may not be inclined to embrace a low-profile lifestyle despite his recent troubles.

Kairo’s Rocky Year and Ambitious Comeback

Kairo’s 2025 has been marked by legal challenges and efforts to bounce back. The founder of Kai and Karo, a car import business, faced arrest in January after a client accused him of selling a vehicle with an outstanding loan — leading to its repossession. This incident followed a December 2024 detention at Kasarani Police Station involving claims of fraud linked to undelivered luxury cars.

He spent several months in remand before securing release, with his bond reduced from KSh 2 million to KSh 500,000.

Since then, Kairo has been actively working to relaunch his ventures. In addition to reviving Kai and Karo, he has entered the aviation sector with Jetman Global, a firm focused on aircraft leasing and sales.

Whether or not he heeds Mosiria’s advice, Kairo appears determined to stage a comeback — and many Kenyans will be watching to see if he stays the course or returns to his high-profile lifestyle.
