Zuchu Under Heavy Criticism Following Perfomance At CHAN
Tanzanian singer Zuchu recently faced mixed reactions during her performance at the African Nations Championship (CHAN) final in Nairobi, which has been a topic of online discussion. However, there are no credible reports of her expressing frustration with her performance.
According to various sources, Zuchu, along with Kenya’s Savara and Uganda’s Eddy Kenzo, was part of a star-studded lineup for the CHAN 2024 final closing ceremony at Kasarani Stadium. Reports from the time describe her performance as electrifying and note that she “drove the crowd crazy.” Many of her fans, especially from Gen Z, were said to have “resonated well” with her songs, with some even praising her on social media for a great show.

Mixed Reactions and Online Drama
Despite the positive reports, Zuchu’s performance also drew some criticism. Some Kenyans on social media were not pleased with the choice of performers, with a few even making derogatory comments about her. This created a social media “war” between some Kenyan and Tanzanian fans, with both sides trading insults.
The online drama appears to stem from a separate, past incident where Zuchu reportedly made comments about not performing in Kenya. This history, combined with the new online criticism, seems to be the source of the “frustration” many are talking about, but it is not a public statement from Zuchu herself. Instead, it is a reflection of the online tensions that often arise between fans from different countries.
