Mbavu Destroyer Explains Viral Nakuru Twerking Video

Amateur boxer Ferdinand Omondi, better known as Mbavu Destroyer, has broken his silence regarding a viral video that showed several women twerking around him in Nakuru. While the clip sparked a wave of social media backlash and questions about his discipline, Mbavu claims the scene was far from a party—it was, according to him, a “medical recovery” session.

A Controversial Recovery Method

In a video shared on Sunday, April 12, 2026, Mbavu addressed the mixed reactions from fans who were concerned about his conduct following his recent Vurugu Fight Night loss to Majembe. The boxer insisted that the encounter was a directed effort to recover from the controversial “low blow” he received during the match.

“So it’s doctors who advised me to keep my genitals fit. I was not dancing with women for fun,” Mbavu explained. He maintained that he was following strict professional instructions to regain full function. “The doctor told me I have to do that, so I have to follow his instructions to the letter.”

Ongoing Health Concerns

Despite the unconventional approach, Mbavu admitted that he is not yet back to 100%. He revealed that his condition has not returned to normal, prompting him to seek further medical consultations.

“Even after doing that, my genitals are not back to normal. I have been told not to worry because they will return to normal with time,” he added, asking fans for patience as he navigates the healing process.

Pastor Kanyari’s “Obsession”

The boxer’s recovery journey has gained an unlikely follower in Pastor Victor Kanyari. The Salvation Healing Ministry founder revealed on the same day that he has been keeping a close eye on Mbavu out of both concern and curiosity.

Kanyari noted that he had observed Mbavu walking in visible discomfort and “slightly bent” following the Kasarani bout. The preacher also expressed shock and admiration after seeing videos of Mbavu using weights during his workouts to strengthen his lower body and prevent future injuries.

“I saw a video of him placing a weight on his genitals while exercising… he said he was doing that so he wouldn’t suffer the same injury again,” Kanyari shared, describing the fighter as “highly creative and resilient.”

As the spotlight remains fixed on Mbavu Destroyer, his transition from the ring to a viral (and seemingly unconventional) recovery phase continues to keep the Kenyan entertainment and sports world talking.
