My daughter calls me “bro” – Ofweneke

Kenyan comedian and media personality Dr Ofweneke has sparked online buzz after opening up about a surprising habit his daughter has picked up.

In a post shared on Instagram, the entertainer asked fans for advice after revealing that his Gen Z daughter, Faith Ofweneke, has started addressing him as “bro” during conversations.

“My Gen Z daughter Faith calls me ‘Brooooo’ in her phrases when she is talking to me! Nichonge kiboko ama it’s ok,” he wrote, humorously asking whether to discipline her or let it slide.

Social media reacts

The post quickly drew a wave of reactions, with many users sharing similar experiences and joking about how modern slang has found its way into parent-child interactions.

Some responded with humour, suggesting he should accept the trend, while others admitted facing the same situation at home.

Several parents noted that their children use terms like “bro,” “bruh,” or even “dude” when speaking to them, regardless of whether they are mothers or fathers. Others shared funny encounters, including being called “twin” or even “baby girl” by their own kids.

The comment section was filled with a mix of disbelief, laughter, and relatable parenting moments, with many agreeing that Gen Z and younger generations have reshaped everyday communication.

Family and public life

Faith has occasionally appeared in her father’s social media content, where Dr Ofweneke shares glimpses of his family life with fans.

The comedian, whose real name is Sande Bush, also shares two daughters with musician Nicah the Queen. Despite their past separation, the two continue to co-parent and have at times spoken publicly about their parenting journey.

In recent years, Ofweneke has also been vocal about the financial demands of raising children, particularly the high cost of education in private schools, often highlighting the responsibilities that come with providing for his family.

His latest post, however, offered a lighter moment—turning a simple parenting dilemma into a relatable and widely shared online conversation.
