Azeezah Hashim tackles the question of her age head-on
Azeezah Hashim has pushed back against online claims about her age, dismissing reports circulating on social media and entertainment blogs.
Setting the record straight
In a series of Instagram Stories, the presenter addressed posts suggesting she is 27, instead insisting—partly in jest—that she has just turned 19. The remarks came after several blogs published birthday-related content that she says misrepresented her age.
Known to fans as the “Media Messiah,” Hashim expressed frustration at what she described as outsiders attempting to define her personal narrative.
Calling out the blogs
In her response, she directly called out platforms including Kenya Gossip, urging them to take down what she termed misleading information.
Hashim emphasized that her family—particularly her mother—remains her most reliable source of truth when it comes to her age.
“My own mother has wished me a happy 19th birthday, and you are posting a different figure. Do you want to argue with my mother?” she said in a video message.
Dismissing speculation
Some bloggers had justified their claims by stating they grew up in the same neighbourhood as her, arguing this gave them insight into her real age. Hashim, however, rejected that reasoning, questioning how shared geography could determine her birth year.
“Those saying we grew up in the same estate—how does that relate to my age? And Kenya Gossip, delete that post faster, I’m 19,” she added.
Standing her ground
While her comments carried a humorous tone, the presenter made it clear she trusts her family’s account over online speculation, reinforcing her stance against what she views as inaccurate reporting.
