Andrew Kibe Accepts Peter Salasya’s Boxing Challenge Ahead of Vurugu 3
Andrew Kibe has accepted Mumias East MP Peter Salasya’s challenge to face him in a celebrity boxing match, saying he is ready to settle their rivalry in the ring.
However, Kibe said he would only begin training after Salasya signs a formal agreement guaranteeing that the fight will happen.
In a Facebook post shared on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, Kibe confirmed that he is willing to take part in Vurugu 3, the celebrity boxing event organised by media personality Oga Obinna.
“So I’ve decided to accept Ka Salasya’s offer to whoop his ass. We do this in December to give me time to train, but only after he signs makalatas ndiyo naanza training,” Kibe wrote.
The outspoken content creator added a humorous remark, saying he wanted a written commitment before preparing for the fight to avoid the possibility of the MP backing out.
“Huwezi trust Mluhya anaeza ruka story anytime,” he joked.
Salasya’s Challenge
Kibe’s response came shortly after Salasya publicly called him out for a fight during the upcoming Vurugu 3 event.
The Mumias East legislator expressed confidence that the proposed bout would attract massive attention from fans.
“Itakuwa mbaya zaidi Andrew Kibe pale kwa Oga Obinna Vurugu 3,” Salasya wrote.
The challenge quickly gained traction online, with many fans anticipating a showdown between the two personalities.
Obinna Backs the Fight
Oga Obinna, the founder of Vurugu, later welcomed the idea and said he was ready to organise the highly anticipated match.
Responding to Salasya’s challenge, Obinna revealed that he was prepared to put up an initial KSh2 million prize purse, with the amount potentially rising to KSh5 million through sponsorship deals.
“@peter_salasya, your wish is my command. Talk to him to accept the challenge. We start by putting in 2M hard cash. I’m sure it can get to 5M #Vurugu3,” Obinna said.
He also joked that the prize money would be more valuable to Kibe than Salasya.
“Salasya doesn’t really need the money; his opponent does. Let’s go!!!” he added.
The proposed fight is expected to be among the biggest attractions at Vurugu 3, which is scheduled for December 2026.
