King Kaka Recalls Terrifying Police Raid That Left Him Facing an AK-47 While in Form 3
Image: King KakaKenyan rapper King Kaka has opened up about a frightening incident from his teenage years, recalling how armed police officers stormed his home while he was a Form 3 student preparing for exams.
Speaking in a video shared on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, the musician described the shocking moment he woke up to find an armed officer pointing a rifle at him.
“So I wake up in the morning. I open my eyes, and the first thing I see is an AK-47. Imepointwa hivi kwa face yangu,” King Kaka recalled.
Shock as Police Stormed His Home
The rapper said the raid happened early in the morning when he suddenly found several officers inside his house, all armed with rifles.
He said the situation left him confused and terrified, especially because he was not expecting anyone to enter the house.
“Wote na ma-AK-47. My mama anasema huko. Mi niko na boxer,” he narrated.
At the time, King Kaka explained that he was focused on his education and had developed a routine of sleeping early so that he could wake up before dawn to revise.
“I would sleep early so that I wake up around 4 a.m. to revise because the paper was in the morning,” he said.
Proving He Was a Student
During the tense encounter, King Kaka said he tried to explain to the officers that he was a student and had not been involved in any wrongdoing.
“Mimi ni student na nimelala mapema sababu niko na exams kesho. Please, please,” he recalled telling the officers.
His mother also intervened, assuring the officers that he was her son and attempting to calm the situation.
According to the rapper, officers later asked him to provide proof that he was a student.
He showed them his school items and documents, including the date written on his school materials.
“Nilionyesha hadi date,” he said.
Police Operation in the Area
King Kaka later learnt that his brothers had also been arrested during the same operation.
He explained that the raid was part of a wider police search for a missing firearm, with officers moving from house to house and picking up young men in the area.
Looking back, the rapper described the experience as one of the most frightening moments of his early life.
However, he said the incident also played a role in shaping his discipline and determination during his school years and later in his career.
