Naomi Kuria recounts being kidnapped at gunpoint!

Naomi Kuria, a digital creator, strategist, and commercial model, has opened up about a traumatic carjacking ordeal that she says left her shaken after being held captive for hours.

A Harrowing Experience

Sharing her story on social media, Kuria recounted how an ordinary day quickly turned into a frightening encounter. She said armed assailants accosted her, seized control of her vehicle, and forced her into a situation where she had little control over what followed.

“Four months ago, I was carjacked at gunpoint, kidnapped for four hours, robbed, and dumped in the middle of the night by your hustling boyfriends,” she wrote.

Hours of Uncertainty

According to Kuria, the attackers drove her around for several hours before eventually abandoning her at night. The experience, she suggested, was marked by fear and uncertainty as she remained at the mercy of her captors.

Mixed Public Reactions

Her account sparked widespread reactions online, with many expressing sympathy while others responded with criticism.

“But you prefer providers to hustlers zile unapewa ni zako tu. Anyway, pole,” one user wrote.
“We are suffering in our own country,” another added.

Ongoing Safety Concerns

Kuria’s experience adds to growing concerns about security in urban areas such as Nairobi. Reports have consistently shown that robbery and theft remain among the most common crimes in major towns.

Residents often cite factors such as night travel, isolated routes, and predictable routines as increasing vulnerability, highlighting the need for continued vigilance and improved safety measures.
