By Ozymandias on March 11, 2026
Victor Kanyari has joined efforts to assist dozens of Nairobi residents affected by severe flooding caused by the ongoing heavy rains.
The founder of Salvation Healing Ministries spent time in the Njiru area, where his church is located, distributing food and essential supplies to residents whose lives have been disrupted by the floods.
“Leo Team Kanyari imeshinda Potmore Njiru tukipeana chakula kwa watu ambao walioadhiriwa na mafuriko,” Kanyari said.
The statement loosely translates to: “Today Team Kanyari spent the day at Potmore Njiru providing food to people affected by the floods.”
Photos shared by the preacher on social media showed residents lining up as they received food and other supplies from members of his team.

Kiengei Appeals for Donations
Kanyari joins a growing number of religious leaders stepping in to help flood victims, including Benson Gathungu, the founder of Jesus Compassion Ministries.
Bishop Kiengei opened the doors of his church to people displaced by the heavy rains.
“These rains have deeply affected many people in Kenya. Houses have submerged, properties destroyed and people have shifted… Today at JCM Church International headquarters we have received victims of the downpour,” he said in a statement issued on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.
He also appealed to the public for donations to help support those affected as they attempt to rebuild their lives.
“Please, I am appealing to you, if you have clothes, bedding and hygiene items that you can share, visit the Lord’s Store and we will reach out to the needy,” he added.
Sakaja Faces Public Criticism
The flooding followed heavy rainfall that hit Nairobi on Friday, March 6, 2026, leaving more than 40 people dead.
Several others sustained injuries, while property worth hundreds of millions of shillings was destroyed.
The situation has also triggered public criticism directed at Johnson Sakaja, as residents expressed frustration over the recurring floods that have affected the city in recent years.
