Revealed: Betty bayo’s daughter fought hard to save her life

Gospel singer Betty Bayo passed away on November 11, leaving behind a grieving family, friends, and fans. But none have felt the loss more deeply than her young daughter, Sky Victor, whose final moments with her mother were filled with love, fear, and desperate hope.

According to the family, the “11th Hour” hitmaker succumbed to leukemia, a condition she had been diagnosed with only recently. Sky, still a schoolgirl, had no idea that her mother’s condition had worsened so drastically.

A Mother’s Final Moments

On the night of her passing, Betty reportedly began bleeding and struggled to breathe. Her close friend and fellow gospel artist Shiru wa GP later shared the heartbreaking details of her final hours.

“When I slept, Betty started bleeding. She woke up feeling like she couldn’t breathe. She tried to walk down the stairs while bleeding,” Shiru recalled.

Sky, who had been told to stay awake and keep watch, saw her mother in distress and rushed to help.

“She asked her, ‘Mum, where are you going?’” Shiru recounted. “It’s like Betty had lost a lot of blood and had no oxygen. So her daughter started looking for the car keys and honking the horn.”

Her quick thinking alerted neighbors, who came to their aid and helped rush Betty to Kenyatta National Hospital.

As the ambulance prepared to leave, Sky insisted on speaking to her mother one last time. With tears streaming down her face, she whispered words of courage and faith:

“Mum, I know you’re afraid, but you’re going to fight this cancer. You’ll get out of here.”

Inside the ambulance, Sky reportedly knelt down and prayed aloud, pleading with God to spare her mother’s life.

“She knelt down and said, ‘Mungu usiache mama yangu akufe,’” Shiru said, recalling the emotional scene.

Despite her daughter’s prayers, Betty fought for two more days before losing her battle with leukemia.

A Daughter’s Tribute

Hours after her mother’s passing, Sky took to social media to share a black-and-white photo of Betty, captioned simply with the heartbreaking announcement of her death.

The two shared an inseparable bond, often appearing together on Sky’s YouTube channel, “Sky Victor 254.” Their videos captured tender moments — filled with laughter, life lessons, and heartfelt conversations about faith and family.

In one particularly emotional episode, Betty had lovingly advised her daughter on how to stay strong if she ever found herself alone — words that now carry a haunting, prophetic weight.
