Rose Muhando’s Luhya husband speaks up about their marriage
A Kenyan pastor identified as Robert Lumbasi has publicly claimed that he is in a relationship with celebrated Tanzanian gospel singer Rose Muhando, sending shockwaves across the region’s gospel and church circles.
The revelation comes months after the Nibebe hitmaker openly stated that she had never been married, explaining that she had yet to find a man who loved her according to biblical principles. At the time, Muhando revealed that she single-handedly raised her three children through faith, wisdom, and hard work, proudly noting that they all made it to university without a father figure.
She also made it clear that she was in no rush to get married, openly questioning what value a man would add to her life if he lacked both financial stability and genuine love.

However, during a recent church service, Pastor Lumbasi stunned congregants when he warned men against pursuing Muhando and declared that she was already taken. He went further to claim that he had paid her dowry, effectively sealing the union.
“Men in this church, please do not approach Rose. She is already taken. She is now a Luhya,” Lumbasi said. “This has been very private and started a long time ago. The dowry has been paid. Everything is done. I remember going to Tanzania to pay dowry in 2023, and I was even called from State House and told this is Kenya marrying Tanzania. I love this woman, and I respect her.”
Lumbasi added that the couple plans to take their ministry to a new level together, pledging to remain closely connected to the church that hosted them, as their union blends faith, family, and cross-border fellowship.
