Shorn Arwa Reveals Heartbreaking Childhood Behind Her ‘Unless They Kill God’ Motto
Shorn Arwa has shared the emotional story behind her personal slogan, “Unless They Kill God,” revealing that it was inspired by the hardships she endured after losing both of her parents as a child.
Speaking during the launch of her pink-themed lifestyle brand, Unless They Kill God, on Saturday, July 11, 2026, Shorn explained that the phrase is rooted in a painful chapter of her life rather than being a simple motivational slogan.
Addressing guests at the event, she said many people had often asked about the origin of the saying, prompting her to tell the story for the first time.
“I have the slogan ‘Unless They Kill God.’ I know it’s a boring story that everybody says, but you know how tough life gets,” she began.
Losing Both Parents at a Young Age
Shorn revealed that she lost both of her parents when she was very young, although she cannot remember her exact age at the time.
“I remember when my parents died. I don’t really remember whether I was four or five. I don’t remember,” she said.
She recalled that after their deaths, life became extremely difficult for her and her siblings, forcing them to rely on relatives for basic needs, including food.
According to the content creator, the children would frequently visit one of their aunts whenever they had nothing to eat, hoping she would help them.
“We would go to my aunt constantly asking for food,” she recalled.
The Statement That Changed Her Life
Shorn said that after repeated visits, her aunt eventually became frustrated and told the children they needed to stop acting as though all hope had been lost because their parents had died.
Reflecting on the incident, Shorn said she understands why her aunt reacted the way she did.
“And I understand her because she is human and maybe she was tired. One day she was like, ‘You children are too much. Stop being like it’s God who has died. It’s your parents. God has not died, so you guys will figure it out,’” she recounted.
Although the words initially hurt her, Shorn said they later became one of the most important lessons she has ever learned.
A Motto Built on Faith
The influencer explained that she transformed her aunt’s statement into a personal philosophy that has guided her through life’s challenges.
“I said, damn. So it does not matter whether your parents have died. It does not matter whether you don’t qualify enough or whether people don’t support you. It does not matter, unless they kill God,” she said.
According to Shorn, the phrase serves as a constant reminder that as long as God remains in control, there is always another opportunity to keep moving forward despite setbacks.
“As long as there is God, you get a chance to wake up every morning and keep grinding. So I would tell myself, unless they kill God,” she added.
