Discussing the relationship, Kaiga emphasized that a genuine connection should promote growth and self-awareness. Reflecting on his time with Joanna, he acknowledged how their relationship pushed him to recognize and understand his own flaws and behaviors.

“A true relationship, like the one we had, forces you to grow. It makes you more aware of your weaknesses, traits, and habits. It was such an authentic relationship that it made me introspective,” Kaiga shared.

The *Hapo Tu* artist also spoke about how his past relationship has shaped his approach to future ones. He admitted that in his next relationship, he intends to be more committed and serious, recognizing that his dedication to music sometimes diverted his attention from his personal life. This realization, he said, was one of the key takeaways from his breakup with Joanna.

On her end, Joanna Kinuthia addressed their split on social media after fans noticed they had stopped posting about each other. Responding to the inquiries, Joanna confirmed their separation, expressing that she had accepted the situation and was moving forward as a single woman.

“I’ve been asked… why I don’t post Chris anymore, are we still together? The truth is, no, we aren’t together anymore. I’m single now, and it’s been over a month. I’m okay, guys. I don’t know what else to say about that,” she explained.

Both Kaiga and Joanna have demonstrated maturity in handling their breakup, expressing personal growth and a positive outlook as they move forward.

Chris Kaiga and Kahush have revolutionized Kenyan music

By now, I  am sure you’ve heard the new track by Chris Kaiga and Kahush titled Mastingo. It was released a few days ago and the world as we know it literally came to a standstill. I’m not exaggerating.

These two fast-rising musicians have proven that they have what it takes to revolutionize Kenyan music since they opted for a different style of music, rather than doing Gengetone as most people would expect, and it is working for them.

Kahush

For starters, Chris Kaiga is such a talented musician. He needs no introduction. While his peers were popularizing the Gengetone sound, he opted for something he refers to as Debe and he has been acing it.

His style is very unique and that is what sets him apart. To add to that, Kaiga has a smooth flow and the ability to make random words rhyme. If you start listening to him you will find it so hard to stop.

On the other hand, Kahush – who is Health CS Mutahi Kagwe’s son – is also amazing. As you listen to him, one of the things that stand out is his vocal arrangement. Maybe it’s just me but his style has an element of trap, only that it has been Kenyanized.

Now imagine these two coming together on a track. It’s no surprise that Mastingo has crossed the 250,000 mark 4 days after it was released. This track is something else ladies and gentlemen.

If you ask me, this is the direction that upcoming musicians should take now that Gengetone has become a thing of the past. The music is clean and, other than that it has a party vibe.

I’ve seen people comparing Chris Kaiga and Kahush to Camp Mulla and although the styles are similar theirs is more relatable because they sing in Swahili.

Chris Kaiga is super talented

If you are one of those people who loathes Gengetone because you think it’s raunchy and whatnot, I’d would strongly advice you to listen to an artist by the name Chris Kaiga.

To this day, I’m yet to come across a song by him that people think is whack because his approach to Gengetone is so different. Chances are you’ll be addicted to his music the first time you listen to him and we’d not even blame you.

Unlike most artists who sing about derrieres, boobs and sex, Chris Kaiga makes clean music and the way he presents it is so unique that you’ll just have to listen to him.

He has a distinct sound and vibe and as you listen to his tracks you can easily tell that a lot of work went into putting it together. He didn’t just wake up one day and decided that he was going to make a song. There is a thought process to it and perhaps that could explain why most of his songs are so infectious.

I have been following Chris Kaiga closely since the day that he released Zimenice and shattered the internet and I can tell you that he is going places if he sticks to the same path.

Interestingly, I do not think as many Kenyans appreciate him as much as they should and maybe, just maybe one day they will finally see the hotbed of talent that has been in front of them all along.

Watch his latest single titled Chain Chain below and tell us what you think.

The new song dubbed Nayo Nayo is a collabo with an upcoming musician who is simply known as Woyez and in my opinion they did a great job. Actually, it could be the best collabo by Gengetone artists to date.

Both Chris Kaiga and Woyez really came through on this jam. However, I felt that the latter outshone Chris Kaiga, I don’t know why but I thought he totally killed the hook or was it just his unique bass? I really don’t know.

Anyway, to be fair, Chris Kaiga also had some tight verses in this jam. One would say that was expected but you can never predict how musicians will fair when they are up against people who are as good.

I really loved the beat in this jam. Apart from Woyez’ flow, it’s the other thing that really stood out at least for me.

The new song dubbed Hizo Bundas is all about doing what your gut tells you. At least that’s how I understood it.

As expected, Kaiga’s flow is really on point in this jam. That aside, his storytelling skill is unmatched, you will be hooked from the moment you hi the play button.

Just like most people, my favorite line in Hizo Bundas is where he says, “Najaza meza pamoja na ukuta juu hizi bundas zinanisumbua leo mpaka bouncer apigwe na chupa.”

The other thing that struck me about this song is the instrumentals that was playing in the background. I really loved it!

Although the beat is simple, Kaiga was able to flow with no problems but then again he is the one and only Chris Kaiga.

Interestingly, many music fans are just coming to know of Chris Kaiga but he has been around for a minute.

This gifted lad recorded his first song in 2011 which means that he has been an active musician for almost a decade.

Actually, the song that brought him to the limelight, Zimenice, was recorded in 2017 but it only went viral this year after he dropped the video.

Kaiga wrote and recorded his first song in 2011 which means that he has been doing music for almost a decade. Would you believe that?

Actually, the song that brought him to the limelight – Zimenice – was recorded in 2017 but it only went viral this year after he dropped the video in May.

I believe this lad is going places because his music approach is quite different from the norm and very pleasing to the ear.

To add to that, he’s generally a creative mind. You can’t fail to notice his ingenuity as you listen to his songs.

His story-telling skill is so excellent and you can actually follow what happened as he narrates/sings.

Perhaps the reason why you’ll want to listen to his jams on replay is that his music are not necessarily about rhyming but the flow.

The other thing that struck me about his music is the fact his lyrics are devoid of vulgarity unlike most new-age artists who don’t really give a hoot.

Keep an eye out for Chris Kaiga ladies and gentlemen because he’s destined for greatness!
