Arbantone artiste VJ Patelo has addressed rumors that he is working on a musical collaboration with musician Diana Marua, stressing that no such project is currently planned.
Speaking with YouTuber 2mbili at his Utawala mansion, the ‘Wakudumu’ hitmaker explained that the speculation emerged without his knowledge.
“No, there is nothing like that,” he said. “If something like that exists, I do not know about it.”
Setting Conditions for a Collaboration
While he denied the current rumor, Patelo did not completely rule out a future collaboration. He emphasized that any project must align with his creative vision and meet his standards of professionalism. He made it clear that he would only consider working with Diana if she proves she is serious and capable of delivering what he expects.
“We can do a collaboration, but you know I do not take things lightly,” Patelo explained. “If she is serious and proves that she is ready and capable, then we can work on a song together.”

A Critique of Kenyan Artistes
The artiste’s cautious approach stems from what he described as a lack of professionalism in the Kenyan music scene. He mentioned that while there are many artistes, only a few meet his level of professionalism and understanding of the business.
He highlighted his preference for working with “top artistes” whose vibe and energy complement his own. He also pointed to collaborations with artistes like Munga Domani, whose projects he said were carefully planned and executed.
Ultimately, VJ Patelo’s stance makes it clear that while he is open to collaborations, he will only work with artistes who meet his high standards of professionalism and creative vision.
