Sometimes in September, Kibra member of parliament Kenneth Okoth wrote to National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi giving notice of introduction of a Bill that seeks to legalize the growth and use of marijuana in Kenya.

The proposed Marijuana Control Bill 2018 is yet to be tabled in parliament. For the Bill to be implemented to law, it first needs the backing of majority house members to pass through the various stages in parliament before the president could assent to it.

Babu’s support

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has indicated that he will fully back the proposed Marijuana Control Bill 2018 when tabled in parliament.

Babu revealed he would support the Bill after having a ‘Rastafarian experience’, he took to social media and shared a photo of him wearing a Rasta hat with dreadlocks and captioned it;

“Hii mboga ni ile mbichi au dry?Niko ready kupitisha ile bill.”

Babu Owino is surely a jack of all trades. The controversial Embakasi East MP is a firebrand politician, a lawyer and now also a musician.

For starters, Babu graduated from University of Nairobi with a degree in Actuarial Science. He pursued a second degree in law before vying for a political seat.

The MP is now exploring his music talent, Babu has worked fast rising rapper Nebulazz to drop a new jam dubbed Dis Gal (Kanini Kega).

Promote upcoming artistes

Actually the sole purpose of Babu collaborating with Nebulazz is to promote upcoming musicians. The song only features a few sound bites by the Embakasi East MP.

Babu also clarifies that Dis Gal (Kanini Kega) does not refer to Kieni Member of Parliament Kanini Kega. ‘Kanini Kega’ is also a Kikuyu word meaning small and nice.

Babu Owino has been banned from traveling to Uganda following his persistent criticisms of president Yoweri Museveni’s dictatorship.

In September this year, Uganda’s Minister of State for East African Community Affairs Julius Wandera called on Babu Owino to apologize to Museveni.

Kyalenga Festival

Babu was supposed to attend Bobi Wine’s Kyalenga Festival on Saturday but the Ugandan government through the ministry of Internal Affairs quickly barred him from traveling to Kampala.

The Embakasi East MP issued a statement after Internal Affairs minister General Haji Abubakar blocked his entry into Uganda;

STATEMENT BY COMRADE BABU OWINO ON UGANDA TRAVEL BAN; I WILL NOT BE SILENCED!

I am in receipt of official communication from the Minister for Internal Affairs for Uganda General Haji Abubakar seeking to ban my travel to Uganda without special clearance from his office.

This draconian veto came just ahead of my trip to Kampala to attend the Kyalenga Festival yesterday. It is a backward and authoritarian response to my unequivocal support for Honorable Robert Kyagulanyi and the young people of Uganda against the tyranny of President Yoweri Museveni.

Honorable Bobi Wine and I remain brothers in ideology and no amount of intimidation will stop us from working together to liberate the people of Africa!

I wish to categorically state that General Haji’s ban will not deter me from agitating for greater democratic space in Uganda, Kenya and indeed, the entire continent. I will not falter in my pursuit for respect for human rights and the meaningful involvement of the youth in our nations’ affairs.

The arc of the moral universe may be long but it always bends towards justice.President Museveni must know that nothing lasts forever. He has overstayed his welcome and soon, the popular wishes of the Ugandan people will outweigh his use of force and violence.

I urge the youth in Uganda not to be discouraged from this minor set back,I will come to Uganda whether the guy is alive or dead.We will overcome!

A week ago, Babu Owino threatened to fly to Kampala and lead demonstrations calling for the unconditionally release of Bobi Wine.

The Embakasi East MP together with other legislators Jared Okelo (Nyando) and Gideon Keter (Nominated) took swipe at president Museveni during a press conference.

“We have been arrested before and do not fear Museveni. We will be taking a revolutionary demonstration to Uganda because it is high time things change in our neighbouring country. We cannot sit and watch injustices being committed in the continent,” Babu Owino declared.

Apologize to Museveni

Uganda’s Minister of State for East African Community Affairs Julius Wandera is calling on Babu Owino and the two other Kenyan lawmakers to apologize to Museveni. He revealed that he had written to the parliament of Kenya through Uganda’s Speaker demanding the three MPs to apologize.

Museveni should keep off

Babu Owino responded to the Ugandan minister indicating that he won’t apologize to president Museveni since he has already achieved his objective – the release of Bobi Wine.

“Museveni should keep off,I already achieved what I wanted which was the release of Hon.Bobi wine,” wrote Babu Owino.

Babu Owino reportedly expressed interest in acquiring Kenyan Premier League (KPL) club Wazito FC. Nairobi News reported that the Embakasi East MP was ready to spend Kes 11 million to acquire the club.

Babu however came out to refute claims he was interested in buying Wazito FC. Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV, Babu explained that he would rather use the cash somewhere else than buying the KPL club.

“Purchasing a football club is not my priority now; I want to help my people. I would rather use that money elsewhere, instead of buying a football club. I would rather donate a part of that money to the footballers; at least to help them provide for themselves. I would also prefer using the money in educating my constituents and also help the youth empower themselves,” said Babu Owino.

Source of wealth?

Babu Owino refused to explain his source of wealth when asked about it. The Embakasi East MP instead said anyone had issues with his source of wealth should visit the DCI and EACC.

“I will never and shall never discuss anything about my wealth. Anyone with a problem about my wealth, the DCI is open and the EACC is open, go to them. My wealth comes from heaven,” said Babu Owino.

The Court of Appeal has ruled that Babu Owino is the duly elected MP for Embakasi East constituency. Three judges of the Court of Appeal overturned a High Court judgement nullifying Babu’s win.

The three judges said Justice Joseph Sergon, who nullified Babu’s win, did not demonstrate how the violence affected the final outcome. They said the irregularities noted in the results did not fundamentally affect the final outcome.

Celebration

Babu Owino was quick to celebrate the court ruling. Nairobi Women Rep Esther Passaris also commended Babu on his victory in the court.

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino is set to launch a new music talent search competition with the aim of supporting talent in his constituency.

The first time lawmaker pledged to empower youth during campaign, he is launching the talent search with a promise that top contenders will receive his support to boost their music careers.

Babu vows to pay studio recording and video shoot for the top five contenders in the talent search. He says the competition will run for a month.

“We will soon start talent search and promotion in the music industry in Embakasi east.There will be a competition which will run for 1 month.I will pay studio recording and video shoot for the top five contenders.God bless Embakasi east,” wrote Babu Owino.

Gabu’s input

The Embakasi East MP met P Unit’s Gabu to discuss the talent search competition. The rapper revealed he was more than ready to commit to the talent search after meeting Babu at his office.

“Great meeting with my good friend @he.babuowino .Thank you for inviting me to your office #Timetowork #Talentsearch,” wrote Gabu.

Babu Owino has put on the spot people who betrayed the late Kenneth Matiba. The Embakasi East MP has raised eyebrows with his controversial speech.

The first funeral service for Matiba is slated for Wednesday at the All Saints Cathedral followed by another at Ihura Stadium, Murang’a County on Thursday.

It’s still not clear whether Matiba will be buried or cremated. Before his death Matiba is said to have made it clear that he wished to be cremated when he dies.

Babu’s speech

Embakasi East MP has prepared a speech to be read at Matiba’s funeral service. It has not been established whether Babu will be given the opportunity to address mourners but in case he does, his speech will rattle some people.

SPEECH TO BE READ BY HON. BABU OWINO IN THE FUNERAL OF KENNETH MATIBA

Widow & Family of the Late Kenneth Matiba, The President,The People’s President, Deputy President, Members of the Clergy, Former Presidents, Cabinet Secretaries, Governors, Senators, Fellow MPs, Diplomats and Most important All Kenyans of Goodwill.

Good Afternoon, Ladies and Gentlemen.

I will be as brief as a cock on a hen.
Today we gather to mourn the passing of a lover of liberty and an irrepressible fighter for justice. Kenneth Matiba believed relentlessly in the power of truth, had the courage to always perceive the truth and possessed that extra courage of always saying the truth to the people. Matiba fought against injustices in Kenya and was brutalized and incarcerated many times by the senseless Moi government. Even as we mourn, no one here can doubt that these assaults and inhuman prison facilities might have contributed to his tribulations and untimely death.

Nonetheless, until his death, he lived the law and by example. Matiba was the nemesis of corrupt political elite and compromised members of the judiciary. He reminded all that tribe and party affiliations are no boundaries when it comes to fighting injustice. Matiba taught all of us through his actions that wealth can be constructively utilized in improving the quality of life of the less privileged and, that honesty and morals are valuable assets. It is now left for those of us in this valley of tears to continue the good fight. This is the only befitting task that would do Kenneth Matiba proud. ‘Sleep well, Comrade Matiba’

However, in his fight against injustices in Kenya, Matiba was betrayed by many friends and close allies;
Surprisingly, some of those friends and allies that betrayed Matiba are seated closer to his coffin than those that really cared about him and his ideas. MATIBA FORGIVE THEM.
Had it not been for the selfishness of some people here, Kenneth Matiba would have been Kenya’s third president and Kenya would be closer economically to the Asian countries our government keeps borrowing money from. MATIBA FORGIVE THEM
Matiba had the vision for a corruption free Kenya, but even the people who’ve converted Kenya into a free corruption zone are here and crying more than the bereaved. MATIBA FORGIVE THEM.

Babu Owino met a female reporter who is equally dirty-minded just like him. The reporter asked the Embakasi East MP obnoxious questions that are best reserved for bedroom.

Babu Owino had a  sexually-charged interview with a female reporter during the recount of votes cast in Embakasi East constituency.

Justice Joseph Sergon ordered a vote recount in the entire constituency following a petition filed by Francis Mureithi challenging the election of Babu Owino as MP.

Babu was interviewed by the reporter as the vote recounts came to an end in Industrial area. The reporter was bold and asked the controversial lawmaker question that made the audience burst out laughing.

Sexual dirty questions

The dirty-minded reporter asked Babu whether he would sleep with a woman while on her period. The MP however declined to answer saying he would only respond to political questions.

“I want to answer political questions, matters sex i will perform with my wife,” Babu Owino replied.

The reporter however didn’t stop asking Babu sexual questions, she also inquired what the MP meant about opening Njeris’ servers.

Babu Owino has initiated a program to take care of all unemployed youth in Embakasi East. The controversial MP insists that unemployed youth must enroll in the program or ship out.

Babu has launched a program to award bursaries to all of his constituents irrespective of their tribe or political affiliation.

“I will start issuing bursaries from next week on Tuesday.Parents who can’t afford school fees are advised to pick bursary forms from the constituency office at Donholm upper savanna ward.Bursaries will be issued to all needy children irrespective of their tribal affiliations,skin color,size of their bodies and size of their brains.Education is the key to success and if you open the gate of a school you will close the gate of a prison.God bless Embakasi east constituency,” wrote Babu Owino.

Vocational training

Babu says all unemployed youth must get training in vocational institutions. He says he will fund the project with CDF, he insists that those who refuse to enroll will be expelled from his constituency.

“Youths who are not in school will get training in vocational institutions,will be trained to be saloonists,plumbers,electricians,barbers,drivers,carpenters,masons..etc All these will be paid using money from CDF.Refusal to get trained or schooling yet not employed,will attract a severe punishment of being expelled from Embakasi east constituency.God bless Embakasi east constituency,” wrote Babu Owino.

Babu Owino has his eye set on the presidency and people are fearing that he might not live to vie for the country’s top seat.

The Embakasi East MP revealed long ago that he would vie for president some years to come. Babu however didn’t reveal a clear time frame for his presidential ambitions until now.

The controversial MP says will vie for president in 2027. He sends a strong warning to IEBC against rigging election when he vies then.

“By the time I’ll be vying for presidency in 2027 the iebc chairman then better prepare to announce me the winner by bullet or by bullet.we have learnt the hard way and won’t make mistakes anymore,” wrote Babu Owino.

2027 is a long time

Kenyans are fearing for Babu Owino’s life after declared his candidature for 2027 presidential election. Most people claim the political system has a way of ‘dealing’ with ambitious politicians who pose a threat to certain preferred individuals.

December holiday is all about fun and sex to some extent. Babu Owino fears uncontrolled lust may destroy some people this festive season.

Marriage doesn’t cure lust

Babu encourages his constituents to exercise self control. The controversial Embakasi East MP cautions that most people will be destroyed this festive season if they don’t control their desires.

“Marriage doesn’t cure lust, if it did adultery wouldn’t exist. Self-control is still a requirement. Lust doesn’t care if you are married or single. You may be Solomon in wisdom or David in praise or Abraham in faith or Joshua in war but if you are not Joseph in discipline, you will end up like Samson in destruction…Tialalala

There is a perception that police deal with Nasa supporters brutality while Jubilee supporters are treated with care. This was not the case on Tuesday November 28th.

On Tuesday both Jubilee and Nasa supporters were equally assaulted by the police. Photos of police beating up Nasa and Jubilee supporters at different venues went viral on social media.

Nasa supporters were beaten and some even shot by police as they tried accessing Jacaranda grounds for a planned public rally by their leaders.

Jubilee supporters were assaulted by police when they tried gaining access to Kasarani stadium. The arena was filled to capacity but some people still wanted to get in to witness the swearing-in ceremony.

Babu Owino was elated by photos of police beating up Jubilee supporters. The Embakasi East MP taunted Jubilee supporters saying they were experiencing firsthand the brutality of Uhuru’s government.

Kenyans on Twitter expressed mixed reactions over Babu’s tweeted. Some were irked by the MP for not condemning police brutality while other were in sync with his thought.

Babu Owino’s ultimatum has been met by at least four banks. The Embakasi East MP had given banks condition which had to be met before he could open account with them.

Nasa’s irreducible minimum has set precedence in all sectors of the economy. Babu Owino gave banks one condition to open Constituency Development Fund (CDF) account with them.

Babu says that a bank must employ at least 10 residents of Embakasi East constituency for him to open CDF account with them.

“For me to open Embakasi east cdf account with any bank in Kenya or proceed with the existing account,the bank must provide employment opportunities to at least 10 residents of Embakasi east.If the above Condition is not met the bank should forget business from us.DO ME I DO YOU,” wrote Babu Owino on Facebook on Thursday November 9th.

Banks comply

Hours later after Babu posted his condition at least four banks agreed to his term. The Embakasi East lawmaker says the four banks contacted him saying they were ready to employ 10 of his constituents.

“The following banks contacted me today and have agreed to employ residents of Embakasi east.Coop bank,CBA,KCB and Equity bank.Embakasi east residents love you.Need cvs.”

Controversial lawmaker Babu Owino has make true his threat. The Embakasi East MP warned his detractors a couple of weeks ago that he would do something they wouldn’t like.

Babu has had to deal with tribalists who attacks him using ethnic stereotypes. On October 26th the lawmaker issued a warning to his haters who have been giving him sleepless nights on social media.

“I’m sending a strong warning to the jubileediots to stop squirting and masturbating on my Instagram.I will block you forever,” wrote Babu Owino.

The Embakasi East MP reiterated the same message on other social media platforms including his twitter handle and Facebook account.

Babu Owino take the bull by the horns

On Monday November 6th Babu Owino dealt with his tormentors the best way he knows. The legislator blocked 12 people on Facebook and went on to taunt Kikuyu tribalists.

Babu sarcastically says that Jubilee fanatics keep on pestering him to get circumcised yet their daughter loves his foreskin. The MP’s wife Fridah Muthoni Ongili is from Mt. Kenya region.

“I have blocked 12 idiots from jubilee who keep on telling me to get circumcised,yet I sleep with their daughter daily and she enjoys the foreskin.More will be blocked if they continue hurling insults at me with their uncircumcised brains,” wrote Babu Owino.

Ethnic profiling of Luo people by the government could take an ugly turn. Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has sent a coded message to the men and women in uniform.

The killings in Nyanza has created an impression the government is carrying out ethnic cleansing. Luo celebrities voiced their concerns about how their tribesmen and women were being killed by the police.

Several hashtags like #LuoLivesMatters have been used to highlight police killings in Nyanza. The killings and shootings were witnessed during Nasa demonstrations in Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay and Migori counties.

Babu Owino’s ambiguous message

Embakasi East MP has cautioned the police and army not to watch as their people are being killed. Babu implored the men and women in uniform to wake up and support their people.

“I call upon the police and army not to watch as their people are being killed by the two tribes.Wake up and support your people,” wrote Babu Owino.

Babu Owino’s body double has left the internet in stitches. Photos of a man who looks exactly like the controversial MP have gone viral on social media.

The firebrand MP has dominated headlines for all the wrong reasons in the past weeks. At least now the ‘other’ Babu Owino is making Kenyans laugh.

It’s not clear whether the picture of Babu’s look alike was photoshopped. But reactions on social media was crazy, everybody just couldn’t hold their laughter back.
