Bahati’s latest Instagram pattern is his most pathetic

Bahati has taken on a new line of attracting attention: attacking Harmonize. The diminutive gospel singer has decided that he would focus his angst and aggression on Harmonize, even going as far as demanding he stop using his moniker of “Tembo” and instead leaving it for Bahati.

Bahati getting paid by Diamond Platnumz to attack Harmonize? He responds

The bizarre turn of events came about seemingly unprovoked with Bahati weighing in in the fight between Diamond and Harmonize, effectively taking the opinion that Harmonize is the antagonist even though he is an outsider looking in and he doesn’t know the nitty-gritty of the facts.

Bahati

But Bahati has never been one to let better judgement get in the way of a good publicity opportunity.

Jalang’o weighs in on Bahati and Harmonize’s beef!

Bahati came out guns blazing and demanded that Harmonize stop being “ungrateful and greedy” and going on to say,

BUT MY POINT IS.., his Mistakes Cannot be Compared with the Kind heart that pushed him to pick you Up from the Streets and Made You who You’re Today. God Used him to Introduce you to the World!

Bahati

What is interesting is the dim view Kenyans have of the lad, because when many read his outrage, they immediately wrote it off as a publicity stunt for a new upcoming song. Kenyans do not take his statements to heart, instead seeing insidious motives for them.

And that brings us to why this stunt is utter bullshit.

Bahati recently released a song. and him being “an artist of immense calibre” he would want to focus on promoting that song, you would think that all his effort would be put into ensuring he would get the most airplay and his songs get the most downloads and views on Youtube but instead, he is busy discussing Harmonize.

Bahati

This in and of itself is an admission that he knows he isn’t a big artist. Bahati has swallowed his pride and accepted that he needs drama to get his name on headlines. And that is an issue because it has translated in seeing him engineer some nonsensical controversies around both himself and his family.

Bahati bitter after Harmonize makes surprise move confirming friendship is over!

Harmonize is busy doing his thing then all of a sudden he realizes his name is being brought up by some artist he has never worked with… And that artist, Bahati, is more focused on addressing an old issue, his drama with Diamond Platnumz, rather than churning out music.

Bahati

So Bahati has decided to be delving in nonsense that is 6 months dead to revive his career. And it gets so bizarre that he even has to address whether or not Diamond Platnumz paid him to take on Harmonize…

Mimi sijaongea na Diamond kutoka sijui lini. Nilikuwa tu namshauri kama ndugu. The way wewe unaweza pata kitu uone hiki kitu Bahati anapotea unishauri.
Nilitaka tu amake peace na atoke na Amani fulani sababu ukitoka na Amani unapata Baraka pia. Sikutarajia atakwazika.

Harmonize teams up with Yemi Alade on 'Pain'
Harmonize

So the guy who was unable to run a record label because all his artists would accuse him of bad business practices is busy telling Tanzanians how to manage their affairs? Nope. Bahati seems to think talking about Diamond and Harmonize’s already dead beef is leaving a dent on the world.

Bahati recycles his boxers – Diana Marua spills (Expose)

Homie needs to take an entire cup of Shut The F Up and focus on what seems to be the dwindling of his musical career. This trend of his that sees him talk about none issues isn’t the way to revive his career and it merely makes us look at him as a has-been fighting to remain relevant.

And the argument that you should respect the man who discovered you simply because he discovered you is illogical. Business is business and we all have to do what is right for us. We do not know the details of the business falling out between the two. If you aren’t involved in the deal, maintain sharp and focus and on your own hustle Bahati.

Celebrity geniuses: Lessons other artists should learn from Willy Paul and Bahati

The Kenyan celebrity has its pros and cons and to be one you need to have the skin for it. I mean for the longest time we have seen many celebrities who come up be loved and later disappear like passing wind.

However some celebrities have mastered a way of sticking around despite being thrown stones at.

For two artists Bahati and Willy Paul have proven that they are masters of this celebrity status.

You might ask how yet they are always “chomaing picha”.

Look at it this way they started out as gospel artists humble, modest and would be heavens gate keepers.

Well, these two chaps needed a leeway to get to the top and that worked out just fine. Why not grab opportunities as they come? Yes, they did or still do good music and that’s just about it.

So what’s the trick you may ask? I believe this 3 are the few takes that propelled the two to the top.

Controversy

When they started out in the gospel scene, they had big hits that fans hoped they could have a collaboration together.

However they did the opposite they two singers would forever be at logger heads trying to prove who is better than the other. Clearly we are not sure yet but truth is they have stayed at the top of their games.

Willy Paul thought he is playing himself by sticking in the gospel scene then shifted to secular. Some fans were angry with his move but to him things see m to be working out just fine.

For Bahati, he thrives on being the trending topic negative or positive for as long as he has the numbers. Its all about the business ya’ll.

Social media craze

A little buzz on the internet could be the best move to make when working on your celebrity status. These two know how to play  the social media craze.

One day you see Willy Paul mock Bahati before the later answers with something else and well life goes on. Next thing you see they have a song out. Then what? We keep loving them or better yet troll them some more. But guess what? They smile to the bank.

Consistency

Th tow have a consistent way of doing their music something not many artists have. Their music regardless of how what content it carries they give their fans what they think is good.

I mean look at Bahati’s new song “Wanani” its a beautiful love song but most of looked at his “gospel” label.

On the other hand, Pozze gave us a beautiful thanksgiving song “Wema”  with Gloria Muliro and he was praised for that.

In conclusion, these two chaps have mastered their arts. They do what pleases them and that makes them celebrity geniuses and will stick around for a long time.

No one respects Bahati as a man and it’s Diana Marua’s fault

Bahati is an orphan and I cannot blame him for not having learnt the importance of vetting his life partner/ wife from the men around him. As a result of the trauma of being born and not experiencing love from a family, a lot of orphans grow up to tolerate bullshit in their relationships with their spouses because they do not want to break up their own families.

Bahati and Diana Marua share new details about their upcoming royal wedding

Bahati, however, made something of himself and love him or hate him, you have to admit that the far he has lifted himself from poverty is commendable. And once he had made himself a star thanks to his gospel music and the fact that he knew to align himself with the gatekeepers, he began to attract female attention.
Of all the women who caught his eye, for some reason he decided to marry Diana Marua.

Diana Marua and Bahati

You see, men usually value youth when it comes to choosing a mate. It is an evolved instinct that leads us to make this decision because the younger a woman is, the higher the chances of her conceiving and the higher the probability she and the child will survive childbirth. Make no mistake about it, modern medicine is a miracle! The most dangerous endeavour women undertake is in birthing forth the next generation and modern medicine has made it a much less risky undertaking.
Bahati bucked his survival instinct by marrying a much older woman but he can be excused for doing so thanks to modern medicine.

“Huyu hawezi toshea kwa bedsitter!” Bahati warns young men lusting after his wife

Diana Marua though, was the beneficiary of the fact that Bahati didn’t know to vet his partner. That is why Diana Marua, who has a storied relationship history, managed to land Bahati and convince him she is his best bet at starting a family.

Bahati and Diana Marua pose
Celebrity couple, Diana Marua and Bahati

Think about it. Every time Diana Marua opens her mouth to discuss relationships, the internet provides receipts exposing her as a virtue-signalling hypocrite. Case in point would be the very recent social media gaffe when she opened up about Jalang’o’s business. Incase you have been living in a swamp somewhere in Samburu and only resurfaced today morning, I am referring to the fact that Jalas was exposed by popular micro-blogger, Edgar Obare and he was revealed to be a fisi. One would think common sense would compel Diana Marua, Bahati’s wife to maintain sharap about the topic given her past but nah, she had to turn on her “Twitter fingers”.

I have always wanted to be someone’s wife- Diana Marua screams after hitting 30 years

This virtue signalling tweet from Bahati’s wife earned the ire of many Kenyans on Twitter who came fast and heavy with photos of her hanging out with the same men in Jalang’o’s “FBoy’s Club” that were exposed as having been paying for sex…

https://twitter.com/danyamah/status/1262780700815699968

https://twitter.com/Caleb__Blair/status/1262794780435677185

And if you think Diana Marua’s past is the only way she humiliates Bahati, you are sorely mistaken! She recently revealed that Bahati recycles his panties. Apparently he will wear his underpants twice or three times before cleaning them…
And this last revelation from Diana Marua brings us full circle to the moral of the story.

Mother of 2, Diana Marua

Bahati is a popular gospel artist. His position has led to him being loved and reviled in equal measure. But no one respects Bahati as a man and this is all down to his partner, his mate, his wife Diana Marua.
Whenever their marriage is discussed, it is as a joke. Whenever Bahati attempts to protect it from blunt, truth slinging assholes like me, he gets mocked.

And you know, sure when they are on their reality show they portray a united front but Diana Marua’s history of multiple high-value men hints at a damaged and greatly reduced ability to pair bond successfully and I would go as far as to set a timer on how long their relationship will last.

Also, Diana Marua in her past showed a penchant for dating high-status men. Yaani, celebrities are her cup of tea. That puts added pressure on Bahati to remain relevant so he doesn’t lose his status. This in part explains all the publicity stunts he engages in.

Why is Bahati so desperate for attention?

Add to this Diana Marua’s penchant for discussing their marital issues publicly. There is a West African proverb, No man is a hero to how own wife. But what about when the man’s wife attempts to constantly undress him in public? That is not the same ball game and it is a huge contributor to how people perceive Bahati. This particular point boils down to leadership. And in that regard, Diana marua has refused to recognize Bahati as the leader of their household and honour him as such.

Bahati and Diana Marua on the cover of Parents
Celebirty couple, Diana Marua and Bahati grace the cover of 2019´s main issue of the Parents magazine

But it’s not all doom and gloom, you see, Bahati should really just get in touch with his mentor DJ Mo and ask him to train him on how to lead, how to protect and how to select a mate. Size 8 can train Diana marua on how to STFU on social media but more importantly, how to uphold the honour of her man. Diana marua cannot change what happened in the past but she can very well mitigate how often it gets thrown in Bahati’s face.
Let this sink in, the only reason the fact that she is multiple men’s bed notches is being brought up is that she doesn’t know how to let sleeping dogs lie. Translate this to her home and hearth and you will see why Bahati needs to get Size 8 to mentor her real soon or else it’s curtains for their marriage.

And Bahati should make no mistake about this being a grave concern. As it is said, Caesar’s wife must be above reproach.

How Willy Paul completely beat Bahati in their beef

Willy Paul and Bahati had beef. While the industry really pushed hard to help Bahati win their beef, Willy Paul slogged it out alone and has completely pummelled Bahati to the point any time the two come up, it is hard not to feel sorry for Bahati. Granted, that because their’s was a high stakes beef, even the loser, Bahati still came out on top.

‘Don’t mistake me for Weezdom!” Willy Paul slams Bahati

But Willy Paul, because he could stand on his own two feet against the industry got to gain the unintended benefit of being truly independent and also getting to know from early on just who his allies and more importantly, his enemies are. And Willy Paul learning to be independent showed him how to organize his resources and all the factors needed to get a song out especially when people are keen for you to fail.

Willy Paul

Bahati, on the other hand, knew he had allies. He didn’t have to try too hard to make music and he always had a friend who hated Willy Paul more than he disliked him so he was willing to help push his music. As a result, Bahati stuck to his continual feedback loop of having people tell him he was right ion the money.

Bahati discloses secret behind his longterm friendship with Willy Pozee

That is why when Willy Paul finally switched from making gospel music to secular music, he had been toying around with different sounds and he didn’t have to limit himself to any genre’s instrumentals or rely on collaborations. Bahati, on the other hand, cannot make a hit song on his open, having sacrificed that ability as he chased big-name collaborations and he had to also jump on trends like Gengeton which was alien to both him and his fanbase.

Why Bahati wearing his wife’s dress is a HUGE deal

Bahati had to rely heavily on publicity stunts and reality TV shows to remain relevant. Without the publicity stunts, it is almost guaranteed that Bahati would have vanished like your wife’s bad fart after you open the windows. Bahati also had to lean heavily on his wife’s star power. He was lucky in that he chose a bride who was as hungry for stardom as he is so she completely embraced the spotlight. She also has the acumen to build her brand once Bahati gave her a hand.

Willy Paul on his part relies on one thing alone; his music. That doesn’t mean controversies have not haunted his career like Diana Marua’s past sexual relationships haunts her. That just means that he doesn’t create publicity stunts nor dwell on controversies just to remain relevant.

Willy Paul is the new Kenyan sex symbol your girlfriend is drooling over

Pozze as he is, is a complete artist who can stand on his body of work. He can actually perform an entire 2 hour set on his own. Bahati would have to sing verses here and there of his collaborations. There really is no comparison at this point in time. Diana Marua’s husband needs artists who haven’t been on the scene for an entire year to sustain his career.

Why no male Kenyan celebrity should complain about cyber bullying

Kenyan celebrities have added a new word to their lexicon and my word they are using it to no end and that word is cyberbullying. As such, many Kenyan female celebrities such as Nadia Mukami have cried about cyberbullying. And she is by no means the only one who has done so with Lillian Muli and Lynda Nyangweso too. Even Bahati and Khaligraph Jones have addressed the issue of cyberbullying and here is where I draw the line.

Celebrities Vs KOT: Cyber Bullying being a norm is sending many to depression

That is not to say that Kenyan celebrities arent indeed getting cyberbullied. Afterall a recent study was done on the international digital phenomenon and Kenyans were highlighted as being a particularly nasty part of the puzzle with the way Kenyans on Twitter delight in tearing down anyone who they feel has earned their ire.
We have seen Lynda Nyangweso get attacked for her weight for no reason other than the fact that someone felt her voice didn’t match her size. Such an incident is disposable and should be condemned as it rightfully was.

Nadia mukami a kenyan clebrity

Perhaps the case can be made that Kenyan celebrities merely bear the brunt of Kenyan culture which has bullying entrenched as a form of initiation as form ones (monos) often get hazed and bullied when they join high school.

Bully number One! KOT impressed after one Fridah exposes Mulamwah for online bullying and threatening her life

My focus today, however, isn’t the cultural reason for cyberbullying but to critique the manner in which male Kenyan celebrities belly ache about getting cyberbullied. Perhaps this is an old fashioned, nearly Old Testament approach to masculinity, but I have been raised to believe that we as men must be stoic.

Kenyan celebrity bahati

So it befuddled and boggles the mind to see men decry getting called on social media although they never fully thought through what being a celebrity is all about. This is by no means my telling rappers like Khaligraph Jones not to hit back at the haters because after all, one mustn’t dish out what they cannot take. And rappers such as Eminem and Kanye West have famously lashed out at haters and critics but with one major difference. They did not try to cast themselves in the light of victims. They did not try to cut the image of the defeated. They did indeed acknowledge their underdog status but they opted to fight on rather than bitch out.

Azziad Nasenya speaks up on claims of referring to Diamond Platnumz as ‘a woman eater!’ (Interview)

But Ozymandias, how can you be so sure about this fact? Well, because men are meant to be stoic. Men are meant to be the rocks of society. If a male Kenyan celebrity cannot deal with the unwanted attention that comes hand-in-hand with the love they receive, then the path is clear, quit. Or log off your computer and go outside to the real world. That is always the option they have. Kenyan celebrities need to stop bellyaching and start realizing that they could always simply switch off their comment section and limit access to their DMs.

Think about it. What stops Jimmy Gait from switching off the comments on his Youtube videos? What’s to stop Jimmy Gait from stopping people from commenting on his social media profiles? I really do not understand why he cries about such things. Yes, there are some horrible people in this world. But we all face the unfairness of life and when you can mute it, do so. I shouldn’t have to remind these men that they have elected to let this negativity remain in their lives as they refuse to handle the situation.
Khaligraph Jones is a fantastic example of what Kenyan male celebrities should do when faced with haters; put that angst into music instead of whining. Create music so good, even your haters have no choice but to clap for you.

Why Bahati wearing his wife’s dress is a HUGE deal

Bahati has decided that if the internet is going to troll him, then he is going to double down and agree and amplify the trolls hate on himself. So what he has been doing of late is him attempting to own the barbs and flaws before they can be be used against him. Whether or not he is successfully implementing the strategy is a matter for time to tell.

Gospel star, Bahati

Bahati responds to Khaligraph Jones’ diss!

But he recently did something that many pundits believe is taking things just a step too far, he decided to borrow his wife’s dress and brassiere and he adorned them to troll the trolls and perhaps one-up them. The problem with this is the fact that it is bigger than him as an artist and Kenyan celebrity.

bahati
Bahati

The fact that Bahati decided to rock a dress is a HUGE issue because it is a reminder of issues that African and people of African descent have had to deal with in regards to systemic emasculation and gaining mainstream acceptance.

Why is the Kenyan gospel industry such a mess?

The trend of black actors and entertainers wearing dresses is a thing that was made not only powerful but brought to the forefront of black collective awareness by guys like Tyler Perry with his Madea bit. But make no mistakes about it, this trend goes back to the minstrel shows.

Bahati at EMB studios
EMB Founder, Bahati

Back in 2006, the first real celebrity to question this trend was Dave Chappelle who asked why black male entertainers find themselves performing in a dress at some point in their career while he was on the Oprah Winfrey show. You name them, they have had to don a dress, from Eddie Murphy to Jammie Foxx and Eddie Murphy.

Why Bahati shutting down EMB Records is a blow to Kenyan gospel

Maybe this is down to guys hustling and doing anything for shits and giggles but this also for the conscious educated minds reminds them of the systemic emasculation of black men. And perhaps Bahati wasn’t aware of this but at the end of the day, he has stumbled into this very politically and socially charged arena.

Bahati in Nigerian traditional attire
Gospel star, Bahati

This is literally a case of Bahati doing his usual shenanigans and getting tied up in something way more serious than he had anticipated.
But for a lot of Kenyan men who saw Bahati do this, they were viscerally put off by this joke and they told the gospel star as much.

And of all the commenters on his post, these seemed to me to be the most genuine:

Verified

Umama umekuingia sasa .Happy mothersday

Verified

unakaa smart sana bro kwanza ukiongezea thong ya navy blue… na kamisi ya cream hatari????….

But to me, this is Bahati being Bahati. This is who he is. He is embracing himself fully. Bahati is normalizing the concept of him not wearing the pants in his relationship and household. Bahati is perfectly at one; mentally and physically when he emasculates himself and wears a dress. Why? Perhaps it is down to not having real masculine leadership that he himself could imprint on. Perhaps this is troglodyte humour but whatever the case may be, Bahati mtoto wa mama:

Or maybe, just maybe, Bahati wearing a dress is nothing sinister. After all, we have all read the allegations that this is how the Illuminati makes you one of their pawns.

The Bahatis are Kenya’s Kadarshians and here’s why

Bahati is one of the most loved and reviled Kenyan celebrities in equal measure and equal intensity. The guys who love him do so from the bottom of their hearts and those that can’t stand him wouldn’t piss on him if he were set ablaze.
And that is true for his wife Diana Marua.

Bahati
Bahati

“Mtoto wa Diana!” Khaligraph Jones hits out at Bahati and Diana’s marriage, he responds

But their marriage, even as discussed and gossiped about as it is, is one of their biggest business brands. Bahati and his wife have managed to do what only the Kardashians could; make a business out of their day-to-day mundane family lives.

When the reality TV show Keeping Up With The Bahatis or whatever it was called, Kenyans hated on it and the content of the show. It trended on Twitter with Kenyans on the platform sharing their unsolicited opinions of the show and their take on who Bahati is as the head of his household. But they tuned in every week regardless.
Blogs reported on the content of the show which is a very good barometer of just how popular the show was. Entertainment blogs as most of you do not know, are business entities so they have to sit where their readers do and report on what brings in said target audience.

Relationship goals! Diana Marua steps in to defend husband, Bahati after Khaligraph Jones’ new diss track

We watched Bahati navigate his co-parenting agreement with Yvette Obura and saw him mishandle her emotions. We saw him navigate his relationship with his wife and their children aswell as deal with her relationship with his baby mama.
We watched Bahati fail and succeed and we cheered and jeered along. Isn’t this exactly what we do with the Kardashians? We embed ourselves in their lives as if we are the flies on the wall and we watch with an almost morbid fascination anticipating their next stumble or fall.

https://www.instagram.com/p/B_XgOPAH258/

I mean, even Bahati’s marriage to Diana Marua has formed such juicy content for WhatsApp groups and blogs just as Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s relationship has. We watch Bahati and his wife squabble about issues such as his focus on his work and their fights and argue over whether they are staged or real-life issues.

Why the Kenyan contemporary gospel scene is struggling

We have watched Bahati go from being Mtoto wa Mama to becoming a star and growing the resultant ego that has made him an ass.
And guess what, we will continue to do so if we are given the opportunity to.

Why Bahati shutting down EMB Records is a blow to Kenyan gospel

Bahati is one of the most polarising gospel artist, celebrity and entertainer in Kenya. Very few people are on the fence about him with most either having taken up a strong dislike to him or holding him in high esteem. He has had a storied career that has seen him not just perform for the president during his campaigns but also set up and run his own record label, Eastlands Most Beloved Records or as it is colloquially known, EMB Records.

Bahati

Nothing best illustrates this than Khaligraph Jones who in a recently released song teaser rapped about Bahati going from “mtoto wa mama” to becoming “mtoto wa Diana“.

https://www.instagram.com/p/B_K8V9FJNrk/

And that is peak Bahati because he did indeed go from having all the goodwill an artist can possibly have to becoming loved and reviled in equal measure. But the one thing that seems to have been lost to the hate is the fact that Bahati shutting down EMB Records is a huge blow for the gospel scene.

The end of an Era! Bahati officially shuts down EMB record label, he explains why

Yes, when Bahati opened EMB Records, it was shrouded in the cloud of controversy as a foreign-based Kenyan businessman accused Bahati of conning him. It was alleged that this was how he got his seed funding. Add to that the fact that Bahati’s artists have all left EMB Records and accused him of unscrupulous business practices. Yes, Bahati was signing his artists on virtual slave contracts that would span 10 years.

Meeting of minds: Why Bahati is the 6ix9ine of Kenyan music

And although everything we have heard about EMB Records is a problem, the one good thing that came out of Bahati’s establishing EMB Records was the fact that Kenya had another record label that would take risks on young unknown talent.

That alone was the saving grace Eastlands Most Beloved Records.

And it is a powerful factor because one of the biggest complaints Kenyan youth have is the fact that there are limited facilities and the owners of these facilities do not take risks on them. Bahati, for better or for worse, did. So sure, he is arrogant and a bit of an asshole, sure he is an underhanded businessman but he would give unknown young artists the opportunity to realize their dreams.

Meeting of minds: Why Bahati is the 6ix9ine of Kenyan music

Tekashi 6ix9ine is out of prison and back to doing what he does best, no, not making music, trolling. And when you think about it, every market has it’s own 6ix9ine. In Kenya, that would be Bahati. And why do I say so? I guess that is why you’re still reading this article -to find out.

Bahati, is one of the most trolled Kenyan artists of all time. I wouldn’t be wrong in saying few before him have received the same amount of ire the gospel artist has. Only Jimmy Gait and Ringtone Apoko come to mind. But neither of the two have found a way to surf the wave of hate flowing their way and use it to remain relevant.

Tekashi 6ix9ine

To draw a parallel between 6ix9ine and Bahati is an easy one to draw; both short, both seem to get on people’s nerves every time they open their mouths, both do not care, and both of them seem to only win whenever they release music.

When you look at the path Bahati has had to walk, the similarities are uncanny to that of Tekashi 6ix9ine. Bahati, canoe from the outs of society, being an orphan and found a way to entrench himself in the collective minds of Kenya.
6ix9ine on his part, found a way to go from being a geeky kid to being one of the hottest properties in hiphop.

Bahati
Singer Bahati

Bahati has been accused of running his artists careers to the ground with many a squabble being recorded at his EMB (Eastlands Most Beloved) Records.
6ix9ine too has had a major falling out with his former allies who happened to be gang members with betrayal forming a major plot for their issues.

Bahati

But more than anything, the fact that unites the two in kinship is that we all secretly want to see them win. Don’t deny it.

Bahati redeems himself as he teams up with Akothee for “Nakupa Moyo “

Now after going on spree with Gengetone artists, now Bahati drops another song dubbed “Nakupa Moyo”. In this he enlists the self declared president of single mothers Akothee.

Bahati  has been on the receiving end lately in the manner in which he was doing his music. He has even been bashed for “mocking God”in the name of making music.

In what seems like a way to redeem himself Bahati has dropped ‘Nakupa Moyo”.

A song of thanksgiving to God for being faithful in the journey of life. I think I missed this side of Bahati’s music too.

The kind of music that would make you feel the conviction.

On the other hand we can’t just ignore how diverse Akothee is. She is a woman that posses talent, ambition and is clearly a motivation to many when it come to dealing with life’s hurdles.

Though controversial her following would give you a totally different perspective of the mother of five.

Gospel artist, Bahati

Nakupa Moyo

Nakupa Moyo means I give you my heart. The two teamed up for this amazing worship like  song where Akothee starts off  reminisces of her past life.

She is grateful to God for getting her through the darkness of life. She sings of when she was working hard to make money and she is thankful that God did not forsake  her.

As you watch the video you notice the the conviction in Akothee’s voice and yes I wouldn’t mind having this on my playlist every morning.

I however, must confess the luo vibe put in by Akothee got me hooked and yes this song might have just redeemed Bahati.

Further, Bahati comes in pouring his heart out on how he is thankful for all he got.He is thankful for his job, family that the only thing he can offer to God is a thankful heart to God.

The lyrics are also simple and easy to understand.

Production

As we jam to the scenic worship song, we must appreciate that it was done under the EMB records by producer Paulo and Teddy B.

The visuals were done and directed by Young Wallace. They could not have done it any better. For one hate them or love them this song is beautiful.

In the meantime watch and tell us what you think. For rating I will go with 9/10.

Gospel artist Bahati is crying out for help in collabo with the heavily-secular Boondocks Gang, and no one is taking notice. Cut him some slack!

Let’s face it.

It’s hard enough being a Kenyan celebrity. When people accept and follow you as a celebrity, there’s a lot of ‘ordinary’ you have to sacrifice. You’ll have to give up the street corner delicacies – Smokie with kachumbari, Mutura…. Hell, the pressure is real. You cannot board a regular Matatu to the CBD – a celeb has to drive, and have flashy wheels while at it.

The dose is served twice if you choose to be a gospel artist. A gospel artist has an image to maintain. It doesn’t matter how many gorgeous groupies scream your name – and groupies always tend to be gorgeous. Random people will send invites to extremely lit parties and you’ll die a little death every time you decline it. You are supposed to be saved, doesn’t matter if indeed you are saved.

Try to walk a mile in Bahati’s shoes. It’ll not be an easy mile.

While Bahati has carved himself a comfortable niche in the gospel industry, he’s overdone himself on several fronts. A few months back, the gospel artist invited his fans into his relationship with the beautiful Diana, and everyone was wowed when they tied the knot. Except, he went one further and created a reality show, on his family life: Being Bahati that airs on NTV.

The show Being Bahati was an instant hit, and commanded prime time on a national media platform. That kind of show was an ingenious first in the country. That soon ran bland, and grew boring in a few weeks. Ratings plummet. The show loses prime time slot on TV, but the good fellows at NTV grant a re-schedule, instead of stopping it entirely.

Why did the reality show Being Bahati lose its initial following? Why is a large section of the audience calling for its withdrawal?

It’s quite simple.

The celebrity is supposed to be saved. No sumptuous scandals, or controversial stunts in the daily life of a gospel artist. A reality show thrives on scandals. Bahati as a gospel artist is roped in by the need to keep his brand as a saved gospel artist.

Bahati won’t drink and drive. Bahati won’t flirt or bang his gorgeous groupies. Bahati won’t cheat on his adorable wife. Bahati will neither fight in dingy, downtown pubs, nor get arrested at midnight for being rowdy and disorderly. Bahati won’t diss a fellow gospel artist, or post seditious stuff on his social media platforms.

The reality show dies a natural death. There’s zero fun watching your celeb eat bread and eggs at breakfast. That gets boring pretty fast. That’s normal stuff in our households. Fans follow stuff that seems surreal. The worst fights in Bahati’s household borders on who does the dishes and takes out the trash. Ah!

At the same time, Bahati has been on a lull on the talent scene. It’s been a while since he’s released a track worthy of his stature. It also happens that a new music genre has been developed and taken the region by storm. Bahati is floored by the new crop of artists, and wants in – but, wait, he’s saved!

Poor Bahati. Let’s cut this guy some slack, folks.

It may be a matter of days, and a non-shocker if Bahati crosses over to join the secular artists. At the very least, his reality show would get a new lifeline. Everyone loves scandals!

Bahati now teams up with Boondocks gang for “Taniua” gospel song

When the noise around gengetone music going to church then here comes another dubbed “Taniua” by Bahati featuring Boondocks gang.

EMB records CEO Bahati seems to have known how to capitalize on scandals. I mean it was just the other day that he was trending for getting Peter Blessing arrested.

Then I remember saying his drama was louder than his music.

Taniua

Well, it’s obvious he thrives on that. Here now he drops “Taniua”  loosely translates to “kill me”. This is a phrase that was made famous by Exray as a signature tune.

Bahati and Odi Wa Murang'a

However, the concept for this song is around a guy that is trying to reevaluate his life, torn between Christianity and the worldly fun.

For one I give credit for the team up despite knowing that this would spark a conversation among netizens. Furthermore, I believe Bahati knew this would be good for business.

Especially after the drama, he has had lately.

The lyrics are quite hard to understand for those that struggle with the Kenyan sheng. Yes, the idea was well put but too difficult for some people.

But anyway here it is. The lyrics have too much weight around kishada and hangovers.

Exray

On the other hand, I will give credit where it’s due, Boondocks gang delivered their lines just as expected. The beat to the song is also not badly off.

The delivery of the song would have been better with clearer lyrics because no matter what happens I believe God deserves His respect.

We can play around with everything but not the truth about the gospel.

For that in one sense if the song was merely for entertainment then I say good job, however, I will be lying if I say that many will sit down to listen to this for any conviction purpose. It’s all wrongly done but well-intended.

The little drama boy: Bahati’s lost objective in the gospel music industry

This year has had its fair share of drama be it from politics through to the music industry.

The gospel music industry in Kenya as we always say is just a circus, especially around the contemporary music scene.

It’s just the other day when Kenyans on social media were praising Kevin Kioko alias Bahati for “supporting” talent when he took Denno.

They did a collabo together that we all fell in love with. Well, that was just about it.

Remember in early 2019, the EMB records boss had a major set back when all his artists inclusive of Mr.Seed, David Wonder among others left his label.

Reasons? They all had different stories of experiences with Bahati’s label.

Bahati’s Peter Blessing

Now this year, his newly late 2019 signee Peter Blessings and Producer Paulo have been on the receiving end.

Bahati and Peter

A few weeks ago it emerged that Peter Blessings was arrested on the order of  Bahati for breach of contract. This came after Peter Blessings had asked to leave the label and start off on his own more like “hustle” independently.

Also read: Mr Seed finally speaks after seeing a helpless Peter Blessing in handcuffs

Bahati got the “Nasubiri Bado” hitmaker for defying a supposed 20 years contract. I mean why get bound by such?

At the same time, his one-time producer Paulo was also arrested for theft and inciting Peter Blessings to exit the Bahati owned label.

Publicity or loss of relevance?

On the other hand, as we castigate him for his actions remember he has been vocal about his music business. Maybe these two are serving as an example of what happens when you breach a contract.

Whether there is truth on not at least that is clear.

Also read:¨Pride comes before a fall!¨ Kenyans warn gospel artiste, Bahati

However, one would question the honesty behind his ‘signing” of new artists in his label only to be harassed later on.

My two cents is Bahati should try and focus on the gospel music he is supposed to be doing. It’s unnecessary to feed the public with drama to remain relevant in the scene.

Ok, his music too has not been topping the charts so well maybe he should restrategize be it music or business.

Why? The exits from his label are louder than his music!!

Bahati says “Sakata” in new jam and its all about dancing to God

For a company that has had some shake-up after the exit of his main players, EMB records CEO Bahati has proven that he is not giving up.

As the year comes to a close the blessing of a newborn baby Majesty. He brings us a new jam dubbed “Sakata”.

Sakata loosely translates to Dance.

This seems like a dance song for praise with reference to Davids’s dance in the Bible that helped him acquire his Kingdom. At least that is what I got from the lyrics.

Sakata

For every person at least we got to give thanks for all the blessing we got. No matter how small the fact that we are alive to this point is a gift.

Bahati

In this song, Sakata,  Bahati is doing a dance of Praise to God for the blessings all through the year. He says whether its rhumba ama dumba Sakata……

Further he goes on to brag about how blessed he is;

“Napiga selfie niposti nimeokoka Na nasakata hiyo Nina mapozi kijana nimeokoka Na nasakata hiyo,,,”

I mean Kijana Kaokoka. As much as I hold some opinion about this jam, Bahati has every right to brag about his God.

He, however, comes down to throw some shade to his “haters”.

He says, Wanaobonga hawajui nilikotoka Na nasakata hiyo Ni miujiza nione nimeomoka Apewe sifa huyo.
Clearly he still holds some grudges. But oh well, Life goes on.

In the meantime, all we can do is “Sakata.”

Video

In what looks like a promotional video, the dancers in this production can be seen dinning the EMB records Tees and Caps all through the video,

The locations are well selected including the slums. The Young Wallace directed song is good for dance.

However, the lyrical break down I would say is a bit shallow. We appreciate the colour and pomp in the video and the very clear message. But the repetition that carries the bigger part of the song can be annoying at some point.

For rating, I will go with 6/10. Your thoughts.

Bahati to Kenyan men: Let your wife control you if you want to be happy

Singer Bahati has been married now for almost five years and he’s enjoying every bit of it. Why? Because he lets his wife Diana Marau take control.

The singer recently revealed in an interview on NTV that men who allow women to take over at home are usually happier.

Let go

The singer confessed that women should be in charge at home and men should just follow their lead.

“You know women are the ones who run our homes. Whatever they say should go. By the way, advise to men out there, dear men, if you want to survive, if you want to be happy like me and not stressed like Samir, pleas allow your wife to hen-peck you. That way, your marriage will be happy,” he said.

It’s not the first time Bahati has made such a comment. Sometime back, he confessed that Marua runs most of the things at home.

Bahati is back with a new single dubbed ‘Unavyonipenda’

Bahati is back with a new single dubbed Unavyonipenda.  This comes in a few months after his last collaboration The gospel singer runs his own label EMB records which experienced a loss of few artists this year. Bahati is known for his good work in the gospel work.

Also, we must admitted that Baba Heaven is talented and unavyonipenda confirms it. Unavyonipenda is all about God’s love. He asks what if God was a human being. Anyway it is God’s love for us that keeps us on this earth.

This single is dope and it just confirms that Bahati ain’t leaving the gospel industry like other small boys we know.

Production

In addition to the good voice, we realize that is a lot that has been done for the success of Unavyonipenda. The video is of high quality. Also, the background and setting was a great choice. Have you looked at the costumes? They are just so in line with the theme and very creative. EMB records is still up there.

Also, audio production is also great. The beats are well equalized and the audio well mixed. One can clearly here the words and it is just amazing.

The video was directed by Steve Mugo.

Delivery of ‘Unavyonipenda’

In most cases the emotions brought in a song that what’s captures listeners or viewers attention. Bahati does so well in delivering the song. It is filled with emotions and at some point he is shading tears. This is just.. I do not know how to describe it.

Also, if you listen to all his work, you’ll realize that he is always emotional. The lyrics are great and how they have been brought out is amazing. Kama binadamu Nimejawa madhaifu Lakini upendo wako Yesu Umeshinda dhambi nguvu. This line is so true for those who believe in Christ existence.

Unavyonipenda is a hit. For those who love cool music, I’d recommend this jam. Bahati should concentrate more on music now.  Yes he is talented and he should keep us entertained.

I give the song a rating of 7/10.

Below is a link to the video.

Where is the line drawn?Kenyan gospel artists’ antics

In recent years the Kenyan Gospel Industry has grown tremendously, something we should be very proud of as a nation.

We have seen the growth of young  gospel artists flourishing in the name of God.A quest to have a spiritual being for guidance and conviction is a very good indicator of sobriety.

However as it grows, some forget the essence of their “calling”.For this article we are going Biblical.

According to the Bible in Mathew 7:1, it says  Judge not, that ye be not judged. Mhhhh!!

But  I believe that some  Kenyan Gospel artists are messing up big time.True?

The industry is filled with Musician that seem not to understand what the gospel is all about.

Or is it that they do not understand what the Gospel is?

Good News

Let’s do some light shading, the Basic meaning of  the Gospel means Good news.Clearly the news we getting from some of this artists is the opposite of it all.

Good thing Willy Paul shifted to this other side.I mean there is no in between when it comes to matters God.

Willy Paul now former Gospel Artist

God is nobody’s brother or sister!!!He is the most High, most revered. He should be respected!

That said, Where is the line drawn when it comes to matters Gospel music?

When controversy becomes the order of the day for these artists, it portrays you in a different aspect.

For example with happened with DK Kwenye Beat and Hope Kid is not something we will forget so fast.

Fine we all fall short of God’s glory but this should have been a wake up call.

Spread The Gospel not your dirty linen

The veteran gospel artists with the likes of Esther Wahome, Eunice Njeri,Reuben Kigame, Rufftone among others have set records with songs that we can relate to even today.

Furthermore, they managed to sing praise to God and make money at the same time.So we cant say they are just doing it for the money.

In a post on Facebook sometime back Kigame stated,

“If you write a song about the word of God, cite it, refer to it, apply it, etc, I promise you, your song will be bigger than you. It will be as big as God’s Word and it will be hard to pass away,”

Also read:Blind gospel singer Reuben Kigame advises Bahati/Willy Paul generation of singers

On the other hand, the new generation artists  have showed talent to the world but the drama of their lives is just too much for the public to deal with.

Too many antics that I believe are unnecessary.

For someone who needs spiritual guidance, if your song won’t be a blessing to me then you as the servant with a “calling” has failed me.

In any case its  you with the calling.

Business in the Gospel

Business in the gospel is nothing new. After all we all need to make a living out of our talents.

But again considering your stance you will always have a limit to the kind of business you do.

A good example, we appreciate that for ‘Being Bahati” its a show that earns him some money but the antics in the show are just too much.

For some of us who have watched it you’d think this was among the factors of the fall out between Bahati and his then signed artists. Or was it?

In conclusion,we hope that the veteran artists can be a mentoring factor to the new generation artists of the gospel. Why?

Because this will end the endless drama of who said what or did what.

It help create a generation that will fear God in the gospel instead of just paying lip service to the word.

Bahati features Danny gift in latest song “Fanya” after the relaunch of his Label

Rebirth…

Few months after all of his artists left the EMB records, Bahati is back on the screens with “Fanya ” that he features Danny Gift.

Danny Gift of the famed ‘Kazi ya Msalaba’ which featured daddy Owen is now signed under EMB records that is owned by Bahati. The song was released at  the EMB Rebirth  at KICC .

‘Fanya” being their latest song together. The song Basically encourages people not give up in whatever they do for God  will ‘Fanya  kuliko alivofanya jana”. Thus serves as an inspiration to many to work harder with expectations from God.

Lyrics and Message

The song’s lyrical approach for was a bit low per. Bahati is an award winning artist with hits like ‘Mama‘ and ‘Machozi‘ which did so well.

As much as Danny Gift is being re-introduced to the industry, he too is known for good gospel  lyrics.

Many would feel that the “Fanya” has been over used in the song even where it is not needed.

Despite the clear message in the video the lyrics did not give us the urge to yearn for more in the song. Did he come back too soon?

Production…

The song is produced by Paul of  EMB label and  Directed by Ivan, the song has good camera work and the story flow is very easy to relate to.

On the other hand the song has received its share of backlash on youtube ;

“EMB records ongeza creativity si uongo mafans tunajua music, cauze thz song ni kama ya ma learners.”
Princess Faith
‘Bahati Needs someone to write good songs for him, he has a nice voice.”
King_ Ibra 254
Ile kitu naskia hapa ni Fanya fanya to…really?? No message totally ???? U can do better than this bahati   among many more.
For rating purposes I give it 5/10.I believe they can do better than this.
Below is the video, tell us what you think.

It’s not easy being Bahati’s wife– Diana Marua opens up

If you are thinking about marrying gospel singer Bahati, you better think again. And again.

Someone who has married him says it’s one of the toughest things you can do to yourself. According to Bahati’s wife, marrying the 25-year-old singer is a bit scaring because of the scrutiny he gets online.

“It is challenging for me because Bahati is a public figure. for him, I think he is used to bloggers and all these people and being scrutinized over small things. One thing that has helped me is that we are blind to haters , said the mother of one.

Trolled

The two have been attacked numerous times online especially over their age difference. Diana Marua is older than Baba Heaven by a few years. Many have labelled her a cougar.

“Our age difference has been a huge factor out here but then again everyone has their own life. this is my life with him so live yours we know how we love each other so leave us and our age difference,”she added.

Why Being Bahati is about Being Diana

Being Bahati or what…

After 9 months on air, Being Bahati  a Kenyan reality show that airs on Ntv  has gained its viewership from the look of trends on social media. The show was to prominently feature Bahati’s love life, general celebrity status, his wife Diana Marua and his two daughters Mueni and Heaven.

For sometime  you would think that the show producer changed tide after episode two of the show  from ‘Being Bahati  to Being Diana .’ Why? The show now tends to focus more on Diana Marua  than Bahati. By that, the show  started with Diana Marua- Bahati’s wife and the surprise baby shower. That is beside the issue.

 Relevant?

Most of the sequel  episodes in the show continue  showing us irrelevant things  like what Diana did to Bahati, what she did not do, what salon she went to,what hair she did, who she went out with, who she disagreed with, what she cooked  and so on.

Before long, you get to social media and see Diana trending on various pages , a good example was after  she kicked out three house helps in a month – well she had her reasons. But how can  someone be distasteful of people in such a short while?

Basically,Diana being in that show is what sets the agenda of discussion to the viewer.

After  a while  we are told about  her buying  Bahati a car for his birthday not just  any car a range Rover-Goals huh?

Don’t forget she was the one being given a house as an apology after the two had broken up few days before . This happened when  Diana claimed that Bahati had  neglected  them with  the ‘excuse’ of working.Lame excuse I would say.

Extra Bahati

Unfortunately,  Bahati is shown either on phone  or on talking heads to the viewer. This, to explain what happens. His activity in the show is not clearly put out like that of Diana. He is more of a supporting cast more an extra in the show.

Other things that popped out in the show that were off were when  in  the last episode we are being told of Diana having a ‘girls day out’.I mean was that necessary to a viewer? What point was being driven from that? Ex-talks? Men talks? Fine, I think that should have been kept in the wraps!

Nobody wants to know what Bahati’s wife’s friends love lives were like or should be!Makes sense? Had to make that sink in.

Mr. Seed, one of the once EMB records signed artist left and opened his own studio Starborn Empire after an alleged fall out with Bahati because of disagreements between their wives.Still on Diana! But that is a story for another day.

We can’t deny there is good camerawork and editing.

However the whole concept of ‘Being Bahati ‘ is not fully considered not unless Bahati’s  celebrity Status was the only factor.

For relevance and impact, the show’s producer should take a another approach to make the show about Bahati if not change it to ‘Being Diana’.

It doesn’t make sense to have a show that says different thing to what it is expected to.

Bahati’s baby mama exposes Bahati yet again: I was so pale with almost 30kgs down because I wasn’t eating

Bahati’s ex-lover Yvette Obura has yet again disclosed how things were not rosy between her and the gospel singer while she was pregnant with her daughter Mueni.

On a Facebook post, Obura shared how Bahati had neglected him after getting her pregnant a thing that almost killed her. In the post, she shared how she lost weight so much because she was too weak to cook.

“I hate my pregnancy period to date. First time mom, went through the knife and I was alone. I did not even know how to raise a child. One week later, my milk dried up because I was not eating.” she said.

Tough Road

Bahati and Mueni dated and got their daughter in their early 20s. The journey wasn’t easy for both since they had no jobs. Bahati was still a struggling singer trying to make a living.

“I went back home and my mom cried. I was so pale with almost 30kgs down. I remember crying every day. I just thank God for my mom,” Yvette penned.

The Bahati’s celebrate their daughter’s 1st birthday!

Gospel singer Bahati and his wife Diana Marua earlier this morning went to share special messages on their Instagram pages as they celebrated their daughter’s first birthday.

The couple which has been making headlines for the wrong reasons a few weeks ago couldn’t help but share their daughter’s special milestone on social media.

Heaven Bahati

Birthday messages

Although baby Heaven will not remember anything from her 1st birthday; Bahati and his wife went all out to shower her with special messages on her special day. Through his Instagram page Bahati wrote saying;

https://www.instagram.com/p/Bt23_hWnrk_/?utm_source=ig_share_sheet&igshid=1wv1c4qdfwotz

Mama Heaven on the other hand could not believe how far her baby has come. Through her instagram story the singer’s wife wrote saying;

Diana Marua

Mr Seed’s wife reveals that the Bahati’s called police on her: It was surprising the incident happened

Mr Seed’s wife Nimo Gachiri has finally opened up about the incident that made his hubby leave Bahati’s label EMB.

Nimo, speaking to Y-Mashariki TV host Ken Relbis, said that it’s true someone from Bahati’s team called police on her during New Years Eve party.

She didn’t mention who exactly did it but fellow gospel artist Ringtone I guess already did that part for her when he came out to say Diana Marua did it.

“When your friends or people you thought are your friends betray you, you will definitely be bitter,” she said.

Betrayal

Nimo made it clear that the reason why they had to ditch Bahati and his team was because of the betrayal.

“I have maintained a stance that the past is the past. It was surprising that the incident happened. Neither me nor (Seed) knew anything about it. That’s why you saw Seed put up the post saying he respected him and he remains friends with him (Bahati),” she further disclosed.

Video: Willy Paul unites with Bahati, Hopekid, Boss MOG to mourn his late dancer Val in new song

Singer Willy Paul has released a new song mourning his late dancer Valary, better known as Val, who died in a car accident not so long ago.

Pozze brought in a bunch of other gospel artists such as DK Kwenye Beat, Alemba, Bahati, Hopekid, Boss MOG, among others who worked with Val to pay their final respect in the song.

Missed

Willy Paul went on to share that Val had always wanted to be part of his dance team and that happened before she passed on. In the sad post on social media, Willy Paul added that she will be missed even though they spent just a short time together.

“Her biggest dream was to one day meet me and dance for me. Valary I miss you and we miss you.. this one is for you.. it’s a dedication to you.. rest with the ANGELS.. thank you @weezdommusic@dkkwenyebeat@bahatikenya@hopekidhk@timelessnoel@jabidii_music@djshiti_trhk And kila artist mwenye ako kwa hii clip.. mko wengi.. BLESS up!! The whole song iko YouTube!! WILLY PAUL – VALARY TRIBUTE SONG.” Willy wrote.

Here’s the song:

Bahati confesses how marriage has changed him big time

Ever since gospel singer Bahati and model Diana Marua exchanged vows, things have really changed and the singer isn’t ashamed to accept that.

In a recent interview, the singer shared that having a baby and settling down with Marua has made him a more focused and responsible man.

“Imenisaidia sana kuwa more responsible. Thinking jioni uko na watu wanakuangalia unafeed so imenisaidia sana kukuwa more responsible more focused. At times naangalianga Heaven pia nasema I have to live right because right now I’m in the public hizi vitu hazijifuti zinajiweka,” said Bahati.

Humble

Bahati also revealed the secret that has helped him stay humble despite his recent success. According to the singer, he’s focused on helping and inspiring guys who look up to him.

“I wanted to be different but majorly my drive was to inspire and you can never inspire when you cannot connect with your people and you can never connect with your people when you cannot come down to the level ya kila mtu.

“Knowing the reason why I started this ndio imenisaidia sana kujikumbusha I need to be humble, I need to reason with people, I need to listen to everyone. I always take my fans kama my bosses, just knowing your calling inakufanya ukuwe humble,” he said.
