Kenya Power has announced planned electricity maintenance works that will affect parts of West Pokot, Nyeri and Kiambu counties on Friday, July 10, 2026.

The utility company said the scheduled outages are necessary to facilitate maintenance of the power network and improve the reliability of electricity supply. Customers in the affected areas have been advised to plan ahead as power will be unavailable between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

West Pokot County

In the North Rift region, the outage will affect parts of Kodera, Losam and Alale.

Nyeri County

In the Mt. Kenya region, electricity will be interrupted in parts of Kihora, Gachatha and Kariguini.

The outage will affect Safaricom and Airtel booster stations, Kihora Primary School, Kihora Village, Gachatha Market, Gachatha Coffee Factory, Kwa Joseph, Kariguini Market, Thandii Village and adjacent customers.

Kiambu County

In the North Eastern region, customers in parts of Gitaru, Nyathuna and Cura will also be without electricity during the maintenance period.

The affected areas include Gitaru, Kanjeru, Cura, Muthure, Ruku, Nyathuna, Gikuni, Tingati A and Tingati B, as well as surrounding customers.

Kenya Power has advised residents and businesses in the affected areas to make the necessary arrangements ahead of the planned maintenance and apologised for any inconvenience caused. KPLC announces power interruptions in 14 counties and multiple estates

Kenya Power has announced planned electricity maintenance that will affect several regions across the country on Tuesday, December 16, and Wednesday, December 17, 2025, as part of ongoing network upgrades and system maintenance.

The utility company says the scheduled outages are necessary to improve service reliability and safety, but has warned residents, businesses and institutions in the affected areas to prepare for temporary power interruptions during the indicated hours.
