Fireboy’s jam ‘Scatter” will bring the house down its a banger(Video)

Get ready to ‘Scatter’ this festive season with Fireboy’s new heated jam: Scatter. The Afro-beat tune released just a day ago has quite the energy an African song deserves.

It is a song that depicts the future of African music and is Ideal for every occasion that calls for an Afrobeat tune including weddings, parties and is a club hit.

Fireboy DML is steadily rising and is currently being rated as the next Wizkid and the future of Nigerian Music. Some of his notable works include: Energy, Feel, Like I Do and King.

Video

The unconventional video is captivating from start to end. The visuals are great and so are the costumes used.

Further on there is this an unnoticeable blend of African dance moves in the thriller-like beat which comes out so well. The choreography is done to African Finesse.

Fireboy Dml

On the other hand, we see him dressed like a joker.  Fireboy is, clearly spreading the message that he is no joke when it comes to music.

The video is too much fire from Fireboy. It also brings back the memories of Alingo by P-square and Azonto: the big hits that dominated the music industry a while back.

Lyrics

It’s a party themed song. With a lot of repetition and native language might be Igbo or Yoruba I don’t really know but it added the juice to it. However, music is understandable regardless of the language and this song is no exception

As they start am

 People yapa

They start to dancia

But as I enter Omo the party scatter

Party scatter, the party scatter, the party scatter

The native language influence has always been a signature in the songs done by Nigerian artists and Fireboy has followed suit in his lyrics much as he has not overdone it. He still allows his fans to get the most out of the lyrics.

This out of the usual song is set to be a massive hit.

Ghanaian Musicians Are Not Smart – RudeBoy of P-Square Fame

A video which has since gone viral has caused tongues wagging on social media

about RudeBoy, the other half of Psquare.

The video show RudeBoy, one half of the now-defunct successful Nigerian Pop

Music group P-Square, lambasting Ghanaian musicians.

According to him Ghanaian musicians have are not smart enough when it comes to doing

music, unlike they the Nigerian artistes.

The video shows RudeBoy in the studios of WGHC Radio in Chicago – USA, as he was

presumably on the promotion of his solo project.

He was asked to share his opinion on the cold reception of two Ghanaian Artistes of the

Year- Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale- by Nigerian music fans, days prior to his interview.

The Nigerian star did not hold back his assessments of Ghanaian music stars at all.

The multi-talented singer downplayed the popularity and relevance of the Zylofon

Music signees who have won several local and international awards.

In Ghana, reggae/dancehall rivals Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale are considered musical

immortals with their massive fanbase, but according to Rudeboy, they have zero

relevance where he comes from.

The Nigerian superstar reserved special praise for Sarkodie and called him the best Ghanaian

artiste but said that all the others were experiencing irrelevance outside Ghana because

Ghanaian artistes and music often follow a trend and stagnates with it while Nigerian music

creates a trend, recycles the best from other industries and continues to add value to

newer innovations.

“Nigerians we’re too sharp…most of the sounds you’re talking about they come

from you guys [Ghanaians], if you’re not sharp enough Niger we’re sharper.”

“They are just doing the same thing without developing…they focus on just one

thing and stay there. Everyone [in ghana] does the same thing, [but nigerians] we develop something and before you catch up, we are gone…,” he said.

“I didn’t Work for 22 Years to Start Destroying Stuffs”- Paul Okoye Responds to Peter’s Allegations

Paul Okoye says he knows nothing about Peter’s allegations.

Paul Okoye of the defunct PSquare group has responded to allegations leveled on him by his twin brother and former group mate.

According to Peter who spoke about the group’s breakup in Kenya, they had to find their ways because his brothers were disrespecting his family. Paul always insulted his family on social media, he said, adding that he had to protect his family. People always say “blood is thicker than water” but he asks, “who is blood and who is water?” When his brothers learn to respect his family, the group might come back together, he noted.

Paul who is currently touring Europe, has however, responded to these claims. Noting that he does not want to give the media something to talk about, he said he was as lost as everyone. According to him, these are sensitive issues. He did not work for 22years to start destroying things, he said.

A transcription of the radio interview below;

These are sensitive questions and the fact that is sensitive, there are ways you will say it and people will create news out of it. Trust me people, I don’t know, the way you people are lost and confused about this issue, is the way I am seeing the issue too, but just understand this,
it is not good for me, it is not good for anybody.

Yes, people will tell you they have heard one side of the story and they want to hear the other side of the story. I am not giving anybody, any story, trust me, I don’t know.

I always say this, I did not work hard for 22 years to start destroying stuffs like that. To be honest with you, I don’t know, I don’t know, but my own focus is this, I still wanna give people same kind of music.

Davido Speaks on Psquare, Preaches Unity in the Industry

Davido gave reasons why they did not perform at his concert.

Davido seems to be the messiah of Nigerian entertainment at the moment as he has made ample efforts at peacemaking. His reconciliation mission started with his estranged inlaw, Ovation Boss, Dele Momodu (Read here). This was followed closely by his surprise performance at Wizkid’s concert. Moving forward, the singer introduced Wizkid as his new best friend to his teeming fans, at his 30 Billion Concert. Another pleasant surprise from the singer was the performance of the Mo’Hits Crew, together for the first time since their breakup.

Answering questions therefore, as to why the Okoye brothers did not perform at the concert, the singer said one of them was unavoidably unavailable. They would have performed together but Paul had a show in Calabar. Peter,on the other hand was at the show.

Contrary to reports, OBO claims that there is no beef among the brothers.

He wrote;

Let us preach unity, Psquare were ready to perform but one of them Paul was not present but Peter Okoye was at the show.

“He already had a show which made it impossible for them to perform alongside Mo’hits crew.

“Both guys are lovely guys trust me there is no problem.

Davido is certainly the man of the moment.

Eedris Abdulkareem says Psquare’s breakup is spiritual

Eedris Abdulkareem speaks again on the Psquare brothers

Eedris Abdulkareem believes that Psquare’s breakup was caused by spiritual hands.  In an interview with Entertainment Splash on TVC, the singer said this:

“It is a spiritual thing. I remembered their mother said before she died, don’t let anyone come between you guys. You need to sit your women down, talk to them to stay away from you guys, sit them down to respect you guys opinions. You guys are gone doing your solo career.“

“Although, 20 children don’t play for 20 years but these are twins. There is something wrong spiritually.”

Though most people think the women are the cause of the split, it can be recalled that Lola Omotayo and Peter Okoye wished Anita Okoye a happy birthday yesterday.

Top Five Group Break-ups that Broke the Heart of Nigerian Music Fans

It is so much wonder why it is always difficult to find that one music alliance that sticks together against the odds. One would easily guess that the strength of the human nature surpasses every other bond which makes it almost impossible for music groups to stick together.

Thinking of the quality of music that we have enjoyed from music groups in the past, we thought it wise to put together, a list of group break up that shook the industry.

Plantashun Boyz: It is particularly sad that the group that produced Tuface who went on to become a legend in the African Music industry couldn’t make it to see better days. The group which consisted of Faze, Blackface and Tuface disbanded after they all decided to go solo. Sadly, not all of them could make it on their own as it is only Tuface that is still active in the industry. The group released two albums; Body and Soul(2000) and Sold Out(2003) before their break up.

Zule Zoo was another music group that rocked the Nigerian music scene as they recorded huge success when they came into limelight. The Kerewa crooners, Ibrahim Hassan and Michael Aboh took the country to her feet with the single (Kerewa) which the National Broadcast Commission banned from radio and TV stations. This didn’t stop the ‘crowd pleaser’ from making waves as it continued to trend even after the ban. The group finally disbanded for irreconcilable differences with only one of the duo trying without much success to remain in the music scene as Ibro Zule Zoo

Style Plus was a group that was so loved particularly by ladies for their looks and tunes which makes it almost impossible for them to be forgotten by their lovers even after their break up. Having lost Lanre, one of the group’s founders, Shifi, Omoefe, Zeal and Tunde remained as a group and went on to serenade Nigerians with songs like “Olufunmi,” “Runaway,” “Iya Basira,” “Imagine That”among others before they separated because Tunde left to pursue a solo career.

Mo Hits, the energetic music group/record label which was co-owned by Micheal Collins (Don Jazzy) and Dapo Oyebanjo (D’bang) succeeded in giving us very good music that will certainly rock the dance hall whenever in comes on play but they didn’t succeed in defying the odds as they split up due to differences between the owners. This led them to forming two different groups; Mavin Records and DB Records. The group consisted of Wande Coal, D’Prince, Dr. Sid and K-Switch.

Psquare’s breakup which of course is the most recent broke the hearts of so many fans and still have some hoping and praying that the twins will find a level ground and go back to making music together as one just the way they have come to be accepted. Having broken up last year, the Okoye brothers come back to do a song together but their reconciliation didn’t last long as they hit us again with news of another break up, this time, with video evidence and an official letter of termination of appointment.

If twin brothers cannot make a successful music group, one keeps wondering; who then will?

An Open Letter to P-Square

An Admirer of the music stars have taken out time to pen a letter to the embattled twins.

The P in Psquare could have also meant professionalism he/she says.

The letter below…

Dear Peter and Paul,

I know you guys are busy with all that is going on but this won’t take long.

You must know why I am writing. You guys are all over the news. Your names keep popping up on several headlines. It wouldn’t be a cause for concern if the buzz around you was music related.

It’s sort of sad to see you guys trending because of sibling rivalry and not because of music. Since 2014 we have watched you guys become gossip material. Your fans are sad to see this happening. Even the critics can’t explain how a legendary group is unfolding so badly.

At the height of your fame and success, the P in Psquare could have also meant professionalism. Peter and Paul, you showed what it meant to be a recording artist. You guys took no prisoners.

You dropped the hits and Jude Okoye ran the ship. This was how you became music starts in the real sense of the word. You brought excitement to millions of Nigerians.

If those around you won’t tell you, I will. The Psquare brand hasn’t been the same since all the drama started a couple of years ago. Your last album ‘Double Trouble’ was solid no doubt, but it didn’t affect popular culture like your previous efforts. The sibling rivalry has robbed the group of a bit of its shine.

Siblings will always fight especially twins. It is not unusual that the two of you are disagreeing. The best of brothers trade punches once in a while. The manner in which you two are fighting leaves room for concern.

Your squabbles shouldn’t be seen all over social media. You guys are acting like D-list celebrities. Peter and Paul, you are better than that. Has it come to this? You have lost respect for each other and are ready to drag each other through the mud. Legends shouldn’t behave like this. It is disappointing.

No matter what is going on do not lose the fact that you are brothers. You grew together, cried together, starved together and hustled together. No one knows you guys better than yourselves.

Now, there have been rumours about why you are fighting. I wouldn’t dwell on these too much because they are just speculations.

The same respect you give a man is the same you should give his wife. A man has a right to choose who his wife is. You might disagree with his choice but at least be respectful. Show respect. If you are disrespectful to a man’s wife, you are disrespectful to him also.

And on the business side of things, surely three grown men can come together and talk without trading blows. Psquare hasn’t done badly in terms of money over the years. Whatever business model they have been using can be improved upon. Progress is not bad. Everyone should be open to progress.

Hopefully, sense will prevail and you guys will stop the public mudslinging. Remember, the Internet never forgets. Your kids are watching their uncles behave childishly. What legacy do you want to live them?

Yours sincerely,

An admirer.

Let’s hope this sinks in.

”My Brother I Have Moved On” Peter Tells Paul Okoye

As the seemingly unending rift between the Okoye brothers continue, here’s just another ‘piece of beef to fill our ears’.

Peter Okoye who recently terminated his contract with the Psquare brand has in what seems like a matured step responded to his brother’s tweet which seemed to be directed to his brother.

Peter, earlier this morning; Friday, the 29th of September sent a message via a tweet stating that people should stop tagging him in beer parlour or restaurant appearances in America because he is in Nigeria.

The other Okoye twin was however quick to respond as he took to Instagram to share a screengrab of his Brother’s tweet and wrote…

“Pls enough of the shades my brother I have moved on. I have even called my self an up coming artiste. You are the song write and the voice of Psquare, the every every! No wahala pls allow me to have my peace showcase my self to the world and Enjoy with my family. And I am expecting you to do the same. It is not a competition and it is not healthy. My brother I have moved on. I am very sure we will definitely do songs again in future and I wish you all the best bro. Nothing but love God bless Psquare and the great Fans, God bless Mr P and God bless Rudeboy. #Peace”

Well, I’m pretty sure we’ve not seen the last of the ragging brothers but meanwhile, as we watch their performances, let’s hope they find chill pills and live in peace. Till we get another celebrity duel, let’s sit back and enjoy afterall, that’s what they do, they are entertainers.

The Okoye’s rift gets Nasty in Fight Video

Is the world of the Okoye’s crashing? What does this video have to say to P-Square fans?

They used to be Nigeria’s favorite group musician celebrities, but in the past weeks, the members of the Okoye family has been on every news mostly for the wrong reasons. The internet has been filled with the sad news of P-Sqaure twin group breaking up and just recently, Peter Okoye confirmed the rumors by sending a letter terminating the P-Square contract. Let’s not forget that amidst all these, the family has been blessed in different ways: Paul Okoye’s arrival of twins, Peter’s son Cameron Okoye added another year and Jude Okoye’s wife just put to bed.

But the situation keeps getting bad  and a video of the P-square brothers battling it out has emerged from Lind Ikeji’s blog. The video which showed Paul, Peter and their elder Brother Jude Okoye fighting at their lawyer’s place is so shocking and disgraceful. Words like “shame on you, ‘Idiot’, “shey you wan beat me” “wetin you wan do” can be heard all over the video.

Whatever this is we don’t know but, we do hope everything gets to normal soon.

Looks Like the P-Square Brand has Finally Hit the Rock

The Okoye brothers have in recent times sparked rumours of a possible fight between them through the contents of their social media posts which many interpret as messages to one another.

All indications now points at a possible future where tree twins will pursue/live a music career as individual music brands and not as a group that Africans have come to love and appreciate.

The rumours of the fight between them has awakened the curiosity of so many fans, this lead them to asking series of questions and for some,  a few words of advice. It so happened that one fan took to the comments section of Peter Okoye’s Instagram page to advice him on making his immediate family a priority and He answered to the affirmative stating that his family comes first.

The Fan wrote ”Mr. P. u 1st priority is @lolaomotayo_okoye n he kids b4 @udeboypsquare. U n Lola r now 1 4ever o. U will b a foolish man to place your brothers ahead of your kids n dia moda. Our own na our own. my own na my own. Lola has every right to decide how she wants her home to be”.

The singer in his reply wrote, ”my family come 1st”.

Another fan also took to Instagram to wish him the best as according to the poster, she wrote, ‘‘Wish you the best you deserve love you and your lovely kids!!!”. Peter gave the same reply he gave to the first fan.

In another development, Peter Okoye was reported to have sent a letter of termination of contract between himself and the PSquare brand. The Letter below…

While we wait to hear from Paul Okoye, let’s hope they find happiness as they part ways. It breaks our hearts though.

We’ll Like to Hope all is Well with the Okoye Twins

…Because we love to have them together, we are hoping all the recent jabs Psquare have been throwing at each other is not an indication of another fight between those two.

Even though they haven’t mentioned any names yet, all indications points at the fact that all is not well between the Okoye brothers.

Recent posts by the Okoyes on social media raises dust on the peace of the twins. In a recent post, Paul Okoye who was the quiet party in their most recent fight said, ”Back to naija. Don’t take my silence for granted. Only a woman can come where there’s peace and destroy it #youknowyourself. Try me this time, I swear Nyash go open. You will know that blood is thicker and stronger than juju”.

Paul Okoye’s post

Well, we really hope the strength of their blood will be enough to hold them together against the odds.

Peter whose strong point is not silence has however not been quiet since the beginning of this drama. He has sent series of subliminal messages which of course points to his brother. First, he has again, taken up the title, ‘Mr. P. suggesting that he is now a loner as opposed to the PeterPsquare that normally identify him as a half of the Psquare duo. He has also made series of posts that suggests that someone is jealous of him because of his new born twins (Lets hope Paul isn’t the someone). ”Since the announcement of the arrival of these two, I swear some people are restless, they can’t even sleep, they are not at peace #jealousy #envy. I swear, if na plot of land, some people go don buy ten plots. All these distractions can stop God’s blessings, #doubledouble #somethingisfishing.

P

Peter Okoye

Some fans have however reached out to advice the twins to sort their differences amicably, let’s hope they listen.
