Custody Battle Between Influencers Ramadhan Olouch and Faith Wanjiku Stalls Again as Case is Adjourned

The child custody case involving former YouTubers Ramadhan ‘Ramzy’ Olouch and his ex-partner Faith ‘Shiko’ Wanjiku has hit another delay after Wanjiku failed to appear in court for the third time to testify.

The two previously gained fame through their YouTube channel The Green Calabash, which neared 100,000 subscribers and over 14 million views before it was taken down in 2022 following their abrupt and highly publicized breakup. They rose to prominence after live-streaming the birth of one of their children—a video that drew massive online attention. The duo were also known for featuring their children in brand campaigns as influencers.

Following their separation, Wanjiku—who is now married to radio presenter Mike Mondo—filed a case in 2023 seeking full custody of their two sons.

The case remains ongoing, with new developments emerging. Ramzy recently submitted video evidence allegedly showing Wanjiku and her husband, Mike Mondo, picking up the children while appearing intoxicated. He is urging the court to use the video as proof of irresponsibility and poor judgment on Wanjiku’s part.

Ramzy argues that not only were the children placed in a potentially unsafe situation, but that the incident also publicly humiliated them. The court had previously ruled that the two ex-partners alternate custody on weekends.

In her initial 2023 filing, Wanjiku accused Ramzy of neglecting his parental duties, claiming he stopped paying school fees for their sons at a private Nairobi institution. According to her, the arrears had reached Sh303,500, despite Ramzy reportedly earning a monthly salary of Sh150,000 and additional income from side projects that once totaled Sh791,125.

Ramzy, however, defended himself, citing a pay cut that affected his ability to meet the children’s expenses at their current school. He provided an M-Pesa transaction of Sh50,000 as partial payment toward the outstanding fees and proposed transferring the children to a more affordable school—a suggestion Wanjiku opposed.

In response to the impasse, the Principal Magistrate ordered a temporary arrangement: Ramzy would continue paying fees at a rate equivalent to the proposed school while Wanjiku would cover the balance, pending a final judgment on the custody matter.

The court is expected to resume hearings once Wanjiku appears to testify.

Rama Denies Deadbeat Dad Claims, Disputes Shiko Nguru’s Accusations

Rama Oluoch, the former partner of YouTuber Shiko Nguru, has publicly refuted claims that he is a deadbeat father, asserting that he financially supports their children. This comes after Shiko alleged that Rama has abandoned his parental responsibilities, leaving her and her current husband, Mike Mondo, to shoulder the burden.

In an interview with Oga Obinna, Rama addressed the ongoing legal battle with Shiko, stating that he is following his lawyer’s advice and allowing the courts to resolve the matter. He implied that he is unaware of his children’s current school, citing this as a reason for his reluctance to pay school fees directly without court orders.

“I decided, you know what, I will leave it up to the courts,” Rama stated. “Even for me to pay, I need to know I am paying school fees for which school. My case is very complicated. You may find the kids are going to a different school.”

Rama further countered Shiko’s claims of financial neglect, asserting that he has been sending money and possesses receipts to prove it. “I have been sending money, and I have receipts,” he said. “It is only that you cannot go online each time you are accused.” He also mentioned that he has not seen his children since February 2025.

Shiko had previously publicly compared Rama unfavorably to her first child’s father, alleging that Rama had abdicated his responsibilities.

The public response to Rama’s interview has been mixed. Some social media users criticized his approach, questioning his focus on legal battles over his children’s needs, while others urged caution against making judgments without full knowledge of the situation. Comments ranged from accusations of ego-driven behavior to calls for understanding the complexities of their co-parenting situation.

Shiko Nguru and Mike Mondo married privately in September 2024, after a year of dating. They revealed that their relationship began after a first date at a Boyz II Men concert.

Mike Mondo reveals intent to marry Shiko Nguru in 2024

At 42 years old, Mike Mondo is fully immersed in evaluating his life, asserting that this is the moment for positive changes.

In an interview with Mpasho’s Kalondou Musyimi on January 17, Mondo expressed his goals for 2024, with marriage topping the list. He is in a relationship with content creator Shiko Nguru, who separated from the father of two of her three children a few years ago.

Despite the buzz surrounding their romance, Mondo emphasized his commitment to settling down and improving certain financial aspects. Addressing the public’s opinions on their relationship, he stated:

“One of the things that’s happening this year is I’m gonna settle down. Number two I’m trying to improve certain areas financially. I think I’ve been undercover for a lot of my career. Number 3 is to just be the best version of me.”

Additionally, Mondo declared that he would no longer shy away from controversy, expressing fatigue from trying to meet others’ expectations. He sees this phase of his life as a chance for personal growth and purpose. Reflecting on his age, he questioned the appropriateness of certain behaviors:

“What am I doing at 42 running around and kwani mi nakaa mbaba? Nianze kuzunguka na young girls? It’s time, it’s not even about being unmarried. Settling down is a lot of things. You just calm down, you make your life a lot more calm, work on your craft, grow, and become more of an individual who has meaning and purpose in life.”

Mondo also expressed a shift away from his partying days, emphasizing the need to achieve milestones. Addressing the criticism of their Instagram video discussing their romance, he defended the practice of couples having open conversations and encouraged it, citing examples like Jay Z and Beyonce.

As for the possibility of a grand wedding this year, Mondo remained coy, teasing a cryptic response:

“Ah digithia,” acting coy he teased his answer to the tough question.

“Ah relax kwanza wacha tumalizane na mambo ingine alafu hiyo mambo ikiisha, you will know…You think I’m afraid to tell you? You will know, trust me but for now wacha tumalizane na whatever matters…” he assured netizens.

Mike Mondo finally reveals he is dating Rammzy’s ex, Shiko Nguru

Popular Influencer Rammzy finally addresses why he and Shiko Nguru split (VIDEO)

Content creator and influencer Rammzy had created a brand for himself that celebrated his married life and blended family together with his partner, Shiko Nguru. The pair showcased their lives on their YouTube channel called The Green Calabash and at one point even shared the home-birth of their son.

So it came as a surprise to many when Shiko deleted all of their shared Instagram photos and soon enough, The Green Calabash family YouTube channel was likewise deleted by the couple. Rammzy soon confirmed the rumours that had been circulating saying when he took to his Insta stories to say,

“Shiko’s still my BM so I won’t allow her to be disrespected. We have kids to protect, not adults to entertain. I wish her all the best on her way back to Nai(robi),”

He clarified that the two chose to terminate their more than five-year romance amicably.

“Two adults sat down and figured there is nowhere in the world people would sacrifice individual ambition and peace for emotional security as a couple. I was brought here by God’s glory so I gotta stay and make some bank for my kids. I’m already an investor on these sides,”

This did nothing to explain to their thousands of fans what exactly had transpired that was so egregious, they chose to end their relationship. Their fans were unsatisfied with the simple statement Rammzy had made but could simply grumble as they realized their questions would never be answered. And so they settled into the uneasy realization they would never have any closure.

That was, until he recently was hosted by a podcast called The Crib Sheet Podcast in which he had a conversation with the host about his journey through dating a single mother, accepting to start a family with her and the eventual split and subsequent life afterwards as a co-parenting father.
