Justice Margret Tibulya of the Anti-Corruption Court dismissed Ms Chebet’s application for bail, reasoning that all five sureties presented were not substantial.
“The sureties presented and their station of life is not appropriate to the bond required. Considering that the applicant (Chebet) jumped bail and fled another jurisdiction, the application is hereby disallowed,” said Justice Tibulya in a ruling read by Chief Magistrate Pamela Lamunu Ocaya.
Ms Ocaya further remanded Ms Chebet to Luzira Prison until March 27 upon State’s submission that investigations into the case were still ongoing.

The newly-constructed Nile Bridge in jinja is the latest attraction in the town of never ending fun. Now party people are gearing up for the neon party to take place this Saturday at Forest resort the bridge all night.

Kenya Revenue Authority has issued a 30-day ultimatum to owners of sex toys, Viagra and pornographic materials that were abandoned at the Eldoret International airport to go and collect them or they will be destroyed.
The taxman issued a Kenya Gazette noticed published last Friday giving the unidentified traders up to April 17, 2019 to lodge their claim and pay for their goods or they will be disposed of.
The chief manager in charge of Rift Valley, Simon Luseno said KRA customs department had in its possession sex toys, 6,000 tablets of the enhancement pill Vigrx Plus, 35 pieces of Viagra (50mg), nine pieces of Cialis (20mg), Magic Chocolate Vimas, pornographic materials, dildos, vibrators and arousal creams, that have been abandoned at the airport.
The notice read.
“Notice is given that unless the under-mentioned goods are entered and removed from the custody of the Customs Warehouse Keeper, Eldoret and Nakuru within thirty (30) days of the notice, they will be treated as abandoned and will be disposed of by crushing on April 17, 2019” read the statement from KRA.

Award-winning movie actor and producer Forest Whitaker is back in Uganda, on a call of duty with his Whitaker Peace & Development Initiative (WPDI) –an international organization that since 2012 has worked to transform the lives of youth in the refugee camps of Northern Uganda.
Whitaker, the founder of WPDI, jetted into the country over the weekend and is currently in Northern Uganda going about work at the initiative he founded and heads. News reaching us is that musician Lydia Jazmine together with her team and Galaxy FM/ Spark TV’s Mr Mosh were involved in a nasty road accident along Masaka road as they were heading to Kabale.
The accident happened last evening 11 March as they for Reach a Hand Uganda’s Girls Festival the kabale edition. Its reported that their car lost control and almost killed them but thankfully they survived with minimal injuries.

Ethiopian Airlines plane crashed yesterday, a Boeing 737-800 MAX went down in a town 60 kilometres out of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia’s capital. It had taken off only six minutes earlier and was headed for Nairobi.
The Ugandan passenger was one of the victims of the accident, like 148 other passengers who were on board. An additional eight members of crew also died in the crash, bringing the death toll to 157 with no survivors reported. The majority of the dead (32) are Kenyan nationals, according the plane’s passenger manifest.
Some of the other nationalities reported to be on board included one Rwandan, several Canadians, Britons, Americans, Chinese and Ethiopians, among others.

A Kenyan student allegedly killed herself because of issues between her and her boyfriend which left her tired of living.
The lady Fridah Makena recorded a video of her swallowing a large amount of tablets moments before her friends found her unconscious in her room.
