New Sexual transmitted Disease could be the More dangerous than HIV

A little known sexually transmitted infection could become the next superbug unless people become more vigilant, experts are warning.

Mycoplasma genitalium (MG) often has no symptoms but can cause pelvic inflammatory disease, which can leave some women infertile.

MG can be missed – and if it is not treated correctly, it can develop resistance to antibiotics.

The British Association of Sexual Health and HIV is launching new advice.

Its draft guidelines detail how best to spot and treat MG.

What is MG?

Mycoplasma genitalium is a bacterium that can cause inflammation of the urethra in men, causing discharge from the penis and making it painful to urinate.

In women, it can cause inflammation of the reproductive organs (womb and fallopian tubes) too, causing pain and possibly a fever and some bleeding.

You can get it by having unprotected sex with someone who has it. Condoms can prevent this spread.

It was first identified in the UK in the 1980s and is thought to affect 1-2% of the general population.

MG does not always cause symptoms and will not always need treatment, but it can be missed or mistaken for a different sexually transmitted infection, such as Chlamydia.

The BASHH says this is concerning.

Tests for MG have recently been developed but are not available in all clinics yet although doctors can send samples to Public Health England’s laboratory to get a diagnostic result.

It can be treated with antibiotics – but the infection is developing resistance to some of these drugs.

Chameleone gifts Manager Diamond watch worth Millions

‘Chameleone is as unpredictable as his name’ – so is said by those around him. Perhaps that is what excites them when he does something unexpected. The singer gifted his longtime manager Nkuke Robert Jackson commonly known as Mutima with a brand new diamond watch for his birthday.

Jackson Nkuke, the CEO of Mutima Entertainment has had his fair share of an on-and-off friendship with his boss Jose Chameleone since being appointed manager in July 2014. Around May in 2016, they fell out after a dispute centered on payments but Chameleone retained him.

Despite the fall outs, Mutima stood his guard and insisted on working consistently to deliver the very best services to help promote Leone Island Music Empire as a brand to greater heights. That has won him favor and loyalty from his boss who gifted him with a glittering watch, reported to be coated with diamonds on his birthday.

LC 1 Elections attract Former Rubaga North MP Singh Katongole

Nominees have been treating  their voters with a taste of swag as they hired luxury vehicle convoys and music systems as part of their campaign trail albeit the fact that the position entitles them to a free bicycle (Yes, not a car or motorcycle ) from government .

The race has also attracted former Rubaga North MP Singh Katongole to contest as LC 1 of Makamba Zone in the constituency he formerly headed! Katongole’s short tenure as MP was thrown out by court following petition by Moses Kasibante. So why not become LC 1 boss?  Surely, there is something about this position that we are not aware of.  Like former president Godfrey Binaisa said; “Entebbe e’wooma”.

Indeed power is sweet. We eagerly await the outcome of the elections today which has been declared a public holiday.

Nina Roz gets too drunk to Perform at purple party

While at the ever colourful purple party event in Mbarara over the weekend, Boom Bark Records songstress Nina Roz failed to fully reward her fans for what they had paid for.

Singer Nina Kakunda famously known as Nina Roz, took to stage while visibly tipsy and for sure she couldn’t even sing a complete line in any of her songs.

The Omuliro hit star, who was on her announcement on to stage eagerly waited for by her fans ended by putting up a dismissal performance as she only sang quarter ways of her two songs and couldn’t pull off any of her dance strokes which left her fans disappointed.

Nina, for those who have watched her perform when not highly drunk she is such an energetic dancer and a confident stage performer who actively engages the audience. But this time round the Mbarara revealers who had flocked the event heavily booed her acts on stage and threw unkind words to her until she had to leave stage unwillingly.

However, we hope Nina Roz you turn back strong and focused so as you give back always what your fans expect from you.

Triplets Ghetto Kids charm Revellers at Canada Music Festival

BET Award winner Eddy Kenzo and the Triplets Ghetto Kids performed at the Woodbine Beach in Canada at Afrofest‘s 30th anniversary on Sunday 9th July 2018. This was the first time they were appearing at the music festival, and they left a mark.

Uganda must be proud of the combination between Eddy Kenzo and the Triplets Ghetto Kids (TGK). Ever since the two music powerhouses combined, great things have been achieved together and it seems like the sky is the limit for these two brands.

Eddy Kenzo was booked for the Afrofest and he has always traveled with the TGK as his backup dancers. The dance group made up of three girls and six boys were excited to be performing at the festival and they could not wait to show their magic dance strokes.

Afrofest is one of the largest free African music festivals in North America. Peter Toh, the president of Music Africa, booked artists from all over Africa and Toronto to perform at this year’s festival.

“My father didn’t stop me from doing music”Bebe Cool son Allan Hendrix takes time off Music

Bebe Cool’s son is not only known for his energetic performances but also his voice that is very much likened to his father’s. His music has a quality of lyrical maturity and melodies that his fans love. It is such a nightmare now to know that he has not put that magic to work in the past few months.

Rumor has had it for weeks that Bebe Cool had ordered him to stop doing music because they sound alike and hence cannot afford competing for market but Hendrix has strongly refuted the rumors saying they are baseless and he gave his reasons for being absent.

Hendrix says that he readjusted his priorities a bit and put music on a halt to first focus on education. Being a young man that he is, Hendrik has realized the importance of education in life and he is back to school which he hints is a hard task to juggle alongside other things hence halting music for a moment.

The singer who is pursuing a professional Engineering course at university assured his fans that very soon he will be finalizing his course and then he will refocus on music as his fans want him to. He had this to say;

It’s very sad when I hear people saying my dad forced me to stop singing. The fact is, my books is where my focus is right now. I will be coming back clean and fresh I’m still very energetic and still coming back with great music

Allan x was in Rwanda with his father and the entire Gagamel Band last month for a gig and we anticipate to see him get busier as Bebe Cool’s concert draws nearer.

“I dont Mind Social Media Tax” Juliana kanyomozi

Musicians, comedians, bloggers, and other creatives led by Kyadondo East MP, Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine have come out to unequivocally call for the repealing of the social media and mobile money taxes.

As their #ThisTaxMustGo campaign gains nationwide momentum, there has been silence from the musicians that endorsed President Yoweri Museveni in their campaign song, ‘Tubonga Naawe.

While their leaders, Jose Chameleone and Bebe Cool were hesitant to comment on this story, the others that we talked to said they “don’t mind” the social media tax despite it eating into their online audiences.

Upon releasing her new album ‘BitsAndPieces’ last week, Juliana Kanyomozi went live on Facebook and despite having over 1 million followers on her page, less than 10,000 were watching.

The songbird, however, like the rest, didn’t seem moved.

“It was purely business for me. I don’t have political motives or affiliation. Music is my party. If the government taxes how I spread it, I find another way,” she said.

Shameful

“We have all seen the murders, kidnaps, oppressive taxes but none of your ‘tubonga nawe’artists have come out to say anything,” said Patrick Idringi Salvador.

“It is a shame that even those MPS from our industry who betrayed us are silent as their fans are being squeezed.”
