Crazy Kennar Receives Comedian Influencer Of The Year Award

Comedian Kennedy Odhiambo, popularly known as Crazy Kennar, has bagged on of the most important awards in his comedy career. The young comedian secured the comedian influencer of the year award in the Africa Digital Leadership Awards. Those who attended include Edgar Obare, comedian Njugush and Betty Kyalo. On Instagram, Kennar posted,

”Blessed to have received the awards of Commedian influencer of the year and Go beyond influencer of the year @africadigitalleadership.
Thank you all for believing in me and my team. And it was a pleasure meeting the great Digital Commune
The journey is still on.”

One of his fellow comedians, Erastus Ayieko Otieno, better known as Flaqo, was one of the few celebrities’ to congratulate the young lad for the precious award. . Flaqo is known for his creativity and hilarious clips that are on another level. thanks to his ability to play several characters, he’s one of the best digital comedians. On Kennar’s post, Flaqo wrote,

” Well done sir. Congratulations.”

Daddy Owen also congratulated Kennar.

Crazy Kennar says he started comedy when he was still in primary school. He adds that comedy and performance have been his passion. In campus, Kennar started shooting short videos and posting them online for his fans to share.

Unlike Flaqo, his comedy comprises of a team he created comprising of Omondi Stanley, Sakshi Bushes, Wanjiru Cynthia, Khisa Yyvone among others.

His rib-cracking comedy has enabled him to gather a good following. His YouTube channel has been able to fetch over 150k subscribers and was formed three years ago.

I think Kennar deserves the award. He cracks my ribs! Well done Crazy Kennar, keep winning.

10 Kenyan online comedians who cracked our ribs in 2020

One of the things that kept Kenyans entertained during the self-isolation period were the skits that were made by online comedians.

As such, we decided to make a list of Kenyan online comedians who cracked our ribs this year and left us asking for more.

Here they are:

1. Crazy Kennar – If you’re an avid social media user I am sure you know Kennedy Odhiambo, alias Crazy Kennar. He is so funny. I spoke to him some time back and he told me that he is the content cartel and to be honest, he is.

2. Flaqo Raz – I recently discovered this guy’s real name is Erastus Ayieko Otieno because he looks like a Kevin or a Brian. Anyway, he also makes some dope skits that will definitely leave you on the floor.

3. Cartoon Comedian – Some of you might know this lass because she often appeared on Churchill Raw, some of you might have no clue who she is but you should definitely check out her content if you want to have a good laugh.

4. Mark Mwas – He does skits about high school or college experiences that I am sure many of you can relate with. You’ll even wonder if ever high school or college is exactly the same.

5. Seth Gor – This lad has been making comic skits for sometime alongside Sharon Mwangi and George Kimani and the truth is that they are absolutely hilarious.

6. Blessed Tugi – He is so funny. If you thought Njugush is bonkers then you should meet his son. You know that common saying that an apple does not fall far from the tree, I have never found a place to apply it better than here.

7. Mammito – She is without a doubt the funniest female comedian in Kenya. She is just naturally funny. I always on her Instagram page because I want to be among the first people to see her content.

8. YY – This guy who was once a regular on Churchill Show also makes some short skits which are so hilarious. You start watching one of his videos and you just can’t stop.

9. Brendah Jons – this lady is popularly known as Mama Kingston is also very funny. Her skits always put a smile on my face.

10. Eric Omondi – Of course this would not be complete without naming the president of comedy in Africa, would it? This guy has always been funny and will always be.

“This is not a competition!” Flaqo addresses Kenyans comparing him with Crazy Kennar

Popular comedian Flaqo born Erastus Ayieko Otieno has set to record straight after Kenyans started comparing him to fellow comedian Crazy Kennar.

In every field, there are thousands of people trying to make a name for themselves in their unique way and like many can attest, the Kenyan comedy field is massive.

But everyone, female or male, young or older is still able to create a niche for themselves and have a percentage of die-hard fans impressed by their content.

Unfortunately, one will always get compared to another.

Flaqo vs Crazy Kennar?

This time, Kenyans tried to place popular content creators, Flaqo and Crazy Kennar on a weighing balance to determine who outshines the other.

This is after Kennar recently teamed up with popular Inaniaffect actress, Cartoon, in comical stunts that have since gone viral.

Up on twitter, some believed Flaqo should be worried and watch out for Crazy Kennar who was following behind closely.

A series of tweets the comedian has addressed clarifying that he is not here to compete, in fact Flaqo called Kennar his ‘brother’, each talented in their own way.

Too much trolling

But it is not until the trolls became too much that the radio presenter decided to address the claims once and for all.

“I wake up everyday to find this happening, mara who is better… it is not a competition!”

In fact, he clarifies that he does not care what kind of rankings he gets, because this is no game of thrones. For him, he is here to entertain people and express himself. Fullstop.

“I don’t care who is what. Art is a platform to express yourself, entertain, break ribs and teach at the same time. It’ s not a Game of Thrones. I personally don’t care about being or not being the King of Comedy and I never will care,” he tweeted back.

Crazy Kennar is a funny man known for his popular ‘Tales of the Crazy Kennar series’, having created a name way before Flaqo did.

But Flaqo’s ability to bring in multi-character brand in the comedy industry, shone his star brighter.

Comedian ridicules Jalang’o’s horrible dancing style in hilarious video

People often poke fun at Kiss FM presenter Felix Odiwuour, better known as Jalang’o, because of his terrible dancing style and now an online comedian has decided to take it a notch higher.

Fans and haters of the renowned media personality claim that he dances the same exact way to different songs and it seems that is what pushed Crazy Kennar, to make a video that demonstrates how Jalang’o dances.

A few hours ago, the comic whose real name is Kennedy Odhiambo uploaded a video that shows him mimicking the radio personality’s dancing style and it has left netizens in stitches.

In the video, Crazy Kennar is seen dancing to different jams, including Mugithi, while maintaining the same dancing style where flaps his hands and thumps his feet on the ground.

Jalang’o

The video elicited mixed reactions from social media users. While some thanked him for the comic relief, other took a swipe at Jalang’o for lacking good dancing skills.

“Your comedy is on another level,” Tosh Naire commented.

“Haha hananga style ingine????????,” Shah Onyi wrote.

“Bro this is so true. You have nailed it man,” Lameck Kasinga posted.

EXCLUSIVE: Crazy Kennar opens up about his comedy journey and dating life

Whenever I’m having a slow day or I just need to have a good laugh I always head to Crazy Kennar’s Instagram page and watch the videos that he has posted on his feed.

If you ask me, I will tell you that this chap, whose real name is Kennedy Odhiambo, is one of the fastest rising online comedians in Kenya seeing the number of fans he has gotten since he started doing skits in 2017.

We recently did a phone interview with him and we spoke about many things including; his comedy journey, dating life, how he responds to critics and whatnot.

Crazy Kennar started acting when he was in Class 3 and when he joined Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) in 2017 he teamed up with some friends and started doing online skits.

He says the journey has been good so far since the platform has given him an opportunity to work with major brands and other comedians who teach him one or two things in turn.

Crazy Kennar is pursuing Actuarial Science in college and when he finishes he’ll combine the set of skills that he has to ‘make something big’.

I also asked him whether he’s afraid of losing relevance and he explained that it comes with the territory, adding that the entertainment industry is like a graph – one day you are up, the next day you are down.

Crazy Kennar is not too bothered by his critics. Actually, he says that one needs to have them because they’ll tell you things that you die-hard fans tend to overlook.

Asked whether he is in a relationship or seeing someone the comic said there is someone in the picture. Sorry ladies!
