Riggy G’s Wife Denies Allegations Of Controlling Him In Their Marriage

Pastor Dorcas Rigathi has once again shut down persistent rumors that she dominates her husband, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. Speaking during an interview on Oga Obinna TV on Sunday, March 8, 2026, the former Second Lady described such claims as exaggerated and a complete misunderstanding of their marital dynamics.

A Foundation of Mutual Effort

Addressing the public’s fascination with their relationship and wealth, Dorcas clarified that their achievements are the product of decades of shared planning. She revealed that their strategy from the beginning was to marry early and build their lives together. She emphasized that she knows exactly how their estate was established because she was an active participant in its creation, rather than a passive bystander.

Dorcas specifically tackled the gossip surrounding her constant presence at her husband’s side during his political and official engagements. She explained that her involvement is never about dictating terms or wielding undue influence. Instead, she clarified that she appears at functions because her husband asks for her presence and support. “Sometimes you see me there, it’s because he asked me to be there. I support my husband fully,” she stated, rejecting the “namkalia” (dominating him) narrative.

Standing Firm Against Political Critics

The speculation regarding her influence reached a fever pitch in July 2025, following comments by then-National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah, who implied she held too much sway over the former Deputy President. Dorcas previously dismissed these insinuations while meeting with clergy in the United States, labeling the claims ludicrous.

A Legacy Beyond Politics

While her visibility increased significantly during Gachagua’s tenure as Deputy President from 2022 until his impeachment in late 2024, Dorcas reminded the public of her independent contributions. As the Second Lady, she was a vocal advocate for the “boy child,” disability inclusion, and the welfare of widows and orphans—work she continues through her ministry in Mathira. She maintains that her public profile is a reflection of her shared values with her husband, not a power struggle within their home.

Dorcas Rigathi reveals dark days when she contemplated suiciced

Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, the Spouse of the Deputy President of Kenya, has opened up about her struggle with mental health issues.

She revealed that she once contemplated suicide due to circumstances at home when she was a student at Kenyatta University.

Pastor Dorcas said that mental health is a real problem, and that many people in Africa go through it without being understood. She attributed this to the African culture, which does not appreciate mental health issues.

“In Africa, our culture has not appreciated the matters of mental health and therefore when you find a quarreling mother, an angry parent, a shouting sister all we say they are mad, we say they are bewitched,” she said.

Pastor Dorcas encouraged people experiencing mental health challenges to come out and speak, and to not give up. She said that it is possible to overcome mental health issues, and that there is no need to change who you are as a person.

I admire Pastor Dorcas Rigathi for her courage in speaking out about her mental health struggles. Her story is a reminder that mental health is a real problem that can affect anyone, regardless of their social status or background. It is also a reminder that there is hope for those who are struggling, and that there are people who care about them and want to help.
