Murugi Munyi has urged motorists to always give way to ambulances, sharing an emotional message following the death of her close uncle.
Murugi revealed that her uncle was being rushed to hospital in an ambulance during his final moments, making the experience especially painful for her family.
Speaking on Friday, May 8, 2026, the influencer expressed concern over the growing habit of motorists refusing to clear the road for emergency vehicles. According to her, many drivers assume ambulances are empty or that drivers are simply trying to bypass traffic.
“My close uncle recently passed away. And in his final moments, he was being rushed to the hospital in an ambulance,” Murugi said.
She explained that she has personally witnessed situations where motorists deliberately block ambulances despite hearing sirens or seeing emergency lights.
“I have been in traffic many times where I have seen motorists or vehicles refusing to give way to an ambulance,” she said.
Murugi noted that some road users dismiss ambulances under the belief that there is no patient inside, an assumption she described as dangerous and insensitive.
“With the reasoning that they probably don’t have anyone inside, so let us just block them,” she added.
The content creator appealed to drivers to always prioritise ambulances regardless of their assumptions, emphasising that there are moments when someone inside may be fighting for their life.
“Give ambulances way. Because yeah, maybe sometimes there isn’t anyone in there and the driver is just trying to escape traffic, but sometimes it is your loved one,” she said.
Murugi further reminded motorists that emergencies can affect anyone unexpectedly, urging people to imagine how devastating it would be if a family member’s life depended on reaching hospital in time.
“One day it could be your child, one day it could be you,” she said.
She concluded by encouraging road users to treat ambulances with urgency and seriousness, stressing that every second can make a difference during medical emergencies.
