Pastor Ezekiel Odero of Newlife Prayer Centre and Church donated foodstuff worth Sh2.1 million, school fees for all Form 4 students, and sanitary towels to Vyambani Secondary School in Kilifi on Monday.

Pastor Ezekiel Odero can now access his bank accounts after a 15-day freeze ordered by the court lapsed.

The investigating officer, Inspector Martin Munene, confirmed in court on Monday that all banks had complied with the order and that he had no objection to the pastor accessing his accounts.

However, Munene said that Safaricom had not yet complied with the order and that he would request the court to summon the company to produce data relating to the SIM cards in question.

The pastor’s lawyer, Danstan Omari, welcomed the news that the bank accounts had been unfrozen and said that his client was grateful for the court’s intervention.

Omari also said that he would be seeking compensation from Safaricom for the inconvenience caused by the company’s failure to comply with the court order.

The believers, who camped outside Shanzu Court, asked God for the release of their preacher who has been in custody since Thursday last week.
